Believe it or not. We picked up 9 HOAs because of having a sit down with the HOA committee. We sent a email to Eastwood Homes Builders, and that opened the door. We didn't use any advertising, just one email.. Not saying this will work for everyone, but there are a lot of options at your fingertips..

What business do you have if you don’t mind sharing ?

@aykhan.g Green Industry. Landscaping, fertilizer, weed control, lawn maintenance, installation, etc. Everything is set up by a division. If it doesn't bring in enough revenue, we don't focus on that service.

This was super helpful. As someone who started their lawn care business last june, this is my first spring rush. Glad to hear its normal for me to not be super busy yet. Once again, thank you Mike.

I’m located in Canada, therefore the season is a bit shorter (5-6 months) This video gives me real goals for my first year. Thanks Mike!

Keeping it solo and within a 10 mile radius seems to be the ticket. -not all, but most

I would say your time line is inaccurate but the rest of the information is on spot. Those new guys that are like I'm not able to hire in year two, don't sweat it slow steady growth is still good. Also, keep in mind the seasons if you are in a drought year that will greatly impact profits. Even if you do snow.

This is my first spring with my lawn business. I started late spring last year. I’ve been getting some yards. Spread out all over which is good I think, bcuz come spring 2 I’m hoping I’ll have several more houses in those areas instead of one or two.

Hey Mike, why do you say sometimes it's better to have a loan out on a truck for tax deductions vs paying in full. Is it just because you can write off the payments each month and you can choose how long the loan is or cause paying in full you have to depreciate it over 3 or 4 years and you can't really control the terms. Or do you say it just to free up cash flow? I'm a Ramsey baby so I've always been confused when you say this. Thanks Mike!

You can take a Section 179 in the FIRST year on the full value of the truck (if you need tax savings).... even if you only paid 10% down and got a loan. So by paying $10K in cash I could theoretically get $100K in equipment/trucks and take that deduction THIS YEAR (instead of 3-5 year straight line depreciation)... thereby saving me $20-30K in taxes in THIS YEAR that I can then deploy against further growth. Not saying someone SHOULD do that... but it is why and how it can be used.

@@MikeAndes ohhh okay, I didn't know you could 179 it. That makes sense! Thanks Mike. Will you still be doing coaching calls this summer?
