Aurelia's paint scheme is a reference to the Gulf liveries of racing cars sponsored by them in the 60s and 70s. Not sure of the relevance of #10, but that number was used on a Porsche 917K in 1970

Calling the USSR Russia is more incorrect than calling the UK England. During WW2, Ukraine [Ukrainian SSR] suffered more than Russia [RSFSR]. Even now it is incorrect to call all residents of Russia Russian. Russia is still an empire.

I don't claim to be an expert but I believe that the arms provided to Britain were forgiven at the end of the war. The payments you mentioned would have been for loans. Again, I don't claim to be a scholar regarding lend lease so correct me if I'm wrong. Yes, we provided lend lease to the Soviets too. I think something like 400,000 trucks along with planes, tanks, food and oil. The Soviets never had an automobile industry so the trucks must have saved them otherwise they would have been horse drawn like the vast majority of the Wehrmacht. Something like 800,000 horses were used in Barbarossa by the Germans.

The Wiki article does a good job of explaining how Lend-Lease works. It also covers how it worked out differently for USSR, which was a bit of a deadbeat even as the terms were very favorable for both the USSR and the UK.

In addition, there are weapons being sold on the black market, so it’s inaccurate to say they’re not receiving any cash. That not withstanding, I think there’s enough political rubbish online, without this channel getting into the mix.

FYI the US has sent TONS of cash to Ukraine to fund things such as first responder and other salaries, pensions and other things (in addition to the arms transfers, under whatever guise). The U.S. has paid the lions share of the funds for this conflict taken from our wallets. It is time for Europe and Asia to pay their share for a war no one wants to end.

The US also had a Lend Lease program with the USSR, providing $110 billion in today's dollars. At most the USSR/Russia paid back only 25%.... imagine and Putin is still an ingrate.

Worse than that, now in their schools they deny that it even happened. I know for a fact that it did, because they were VERY nice to my father in law, who was shot down in Poland as a B24 pilot, and ferried to a point where Russian pilots returned him to the US Army Air Corp. They asked him if he wanted de-icing fluid to drink, which they were consuming while flying, and he declined, obviously. Russians will always be Russians. It was well known that that it was an enemy of your enemy situation, and he said you NEVER wanted to get in between them and the Germans, because they would just mow you over on the way to Berlin/ He also owed his life to the Polish partisans, who he said were nearly found out and would have been executed on the spot if they had. The Germans were actually pitchforking a haystack they had him hidden in, but luckily they had placed him deeply enough to avoid being stabbed.

As an American - I can promise you the majority of us are completely fed up with the US funding this war. We have homeless veterans everywhere and our cities are trashed but Ukraine gets $380 billion that we don’t have.

Alfred, double wrong. So stupid too. They don’t get money. The get old military equipment from USA, AND REPLACEMENT MILITARY equipment is built to replace it. The money goes to pay Americans to build the new equipment. Just what eS stated.

I doubt @eSysmanSuperYachts will miss your views. All the indication of a bot, can’t even spell yacht correctly. Obviously not a boater of any kind. And @eSysmanSuperYachts, thank you for your comments on Ukraine. Logic and experience are always my guide to truth. Btw, my earlier comment was thinking there was a pun on bot - boat; but then your comments on Ukraine came through, and I realized likely no pun was intended. Good sailing.
