I am so glad to hear that you wife married you regardless of your nationality, Jay! I mean no racism, but I find British women very attractive, not just physically, but culturally. Sad to see it's more common to see a Filipina woman with a British man than a Filipino man like you with a British woman like your wife.
It is usually more common overall to see a Pinay with a foreign man than vice versa. Pero in terms of Pinoys with white women, the British women rank fairly high in terms of being involved with local men here in the Philippines! Certainly more common to find a British woman with a local man than an American or Australian or Canadian woman doing such here in the Philippines.

Emma, I think it's a bigger adjustment for Jay, to marry outside the culture vs. to you. It's just that he's brought up in the province, not the city of the Philippines. He was not expose to that versatility and multicultural environment as you have. Kind of like a bubble, hence he has this naivety in him. You're lucky as you will be able to experience a lot of first with Jay. Make sure you appreciate and be patient with each other.

In my experience, the cultural differences and the personal irritants/differences plus the continous interventions and meddling of the family of ur foriegn asawa kills the whole relationship. I mean the stress, frustrations and the never ending away wewww sakit sa ulo.
We Filipinos find it really difficult to say NO ... we always say "No problem" ... I guess it's in the way that we do not like to disappoint people ...
