I'm going for the high roof extended so I can expand my business when I'm ready without worrying about having to get a bigger van in the future. Also it's over 6000lbs so it's a write off if purchased under your business.
Bro, 😂 Ernesto, smart move if you ask me. I'm always getting jobs that is 8 ft long items from homedepot. These small vans would not be able to do that
As a Chicagoan(from the Westside. Born and raised), I've been noticing how the Midwest is starting to catch a second wind again. The working woman and working man are really out here breathing life back into the logistical industry. 💪😎
Just want to clarify some info about the Nissan NV200. Yes, it was discontinued in 2021 but as far as the NV250 you mentioned, it’s actually a rebadged Renault and only sold overseas. The only two midsize cargo van options in the United States that can be purchased new are the Ram ProMaster City you featured and the Ford Transit Connect. If you want something bigger but not quite full size, there’s the Mercedes Metris but it will be discontinued after the 2023 model year. I should also add that the NV200 was also badged as the Chevrolet City Express. That version was only built for four model years between 2015 - 2018. Hope this helps!
DO NOT BUY OLDER MODELS!! Many of the higher paying customers will require the vehicle to be no older than 5 years. Do your Due Diligence before buying.
I've been looking for information on how to get a cargo van and your video pops up. Thank you for your time and effort into making these videos. I really appreciate it. Also, do you have a video where you explain how to get one through your business entity as well?
Hello from Rock Hill, SC. I've got my eye on a used Chevy Express 3500 extended that has been converted to a high roof with a fiberglass body. I'm sure it'll be sold before I can get to it.
This looks very interesting. I can easily buy one of these cargo vans but just curious how easy it is to get consistant deliveries to where you driving 5 days a week? I'm not talking about delivering pizzas as you mentioned in your video but the bigger items that pay well. I don't want to end up purchasing one of these cargo vans and then not be able to make the payment on it because there are no deliveries. What are the websites or apps that you recommend for this type of cargo van to get deliveries? Thanks.
Don't buy a cargo van if you don't learn the business properly. Too many times people jump into the business without learning it first, then when they fail they blame the business. Lots of free information all over my channel. Tap in.
i got a ram promaster city. i love it so far. such a nice drive too.. but would recommend the promaster for the size and how much weight it can carry. the city payload is only around 1800 lbs not alot doing real loads...
@@shawnintown it is not slow at all. ive done over 100 in it easy. its got some kick. another thing i really like about it. and thats coming from a smaller cargo van.
Hey Shawn thank you for making these . I’m thinking about owning a cargo van but the thing is I don’t have a clear driving record 4 speeding ticket and 2 moving violations in the course of 3 years . Do you think I can still do cargo van business?
Hi man, thanks for interesting information. Could you please tell me which apps do you use to work on nissan nv200? And how much approximately can you make a day? Thanks!!!
Thank you I have been looking for a cargo van if anyone is interested use Veho! Idk if you did a video on Veho Shawn but with a cargo I can be killing it easy! Shalom!
You don’t need a mc or dot number … I got a llc already and going to look at my van tomorrow. I have 3 jobs ready for me has soon as I get the van. He’s right the market for cargo is booming right now. Fire 🔥 Ps the bigger the van the more it can hold the more money you’ll make 💰
The pro master city sucks bad, I have one for work myself. Mine is wrapped and have a set of wheels on it so it looks nice. It let me tell you why you should look elsewhere. This thing has no power, if you put any weight in the back it will not get out of its own way. Similar to the Nissan NV200, no power is a real issue with this thing. Another thing is it is very bad on gas, it waste a ton of gas because it is underpowered it works much harder than you think. I also have the model with no rear windows. If you can get windows I would, if you use a lot of u turns under the freeway you will see how difficult it gets to see out if this thing. 6ft items fit fine but anything longer than that will be a challenging to fit. Honestly I would look into the ford transit.
Great video. I have a CDL-A and current medical card with hazmat and tanker endorsments. I have been driving an 18 wheeler for a couple of years. I want to get into the expediting cargo van business. Does having a CDL-A license give me an advantage in this business?
ProMaster City and Ford Transit connect van are way over price for what they are, I was thinking about buying one in 2021 but instead I got a 2008 dodge grand caravan CV for a fraction of the price and about the same cargo space....high roof full size is the way to go if you're going to pay over $20k
@@MJ-bm4en not a bad deal. I got a 06 Caravan for $800, 4 years ago with 220,XXX and took all the rear seats out. Spent $400 on a tune up. Now at 319,XXX. Blessings everyone!!
Hi Mr Shawn , Im wanting to ask you a question if you don't mind answering. Please im thinking of the buisness currently know but im having a problem getting my own cargo van because of funding. I am trying to apply for a buisness laon , ( Can i rent a van with affordable pricing first or would you recommend daily rental. if so where can i rent at a great price.
Hey Sonya! I get this question a lot. Unfortunately, I've never suggested renting a van to anyone. It cuts too deep into the profits, and what I don't want is for someone to blame me for recommending it. I know you mean well however, I'm gonna have to say this, do your numbers and research and if that's a direction you would like to go, then shoot for the stars. 🙂
Iam in the the Rockford Illinois area and just purchased a cargo van just trying to find the best apps for the Rockford Illinois area. Really want to get my business up and running.
Fun y timing of this video. Just yesterday an old lady at a house next to a job I was doing asked if I wanted to buy their old church van. It is a 2000 Dodge 3500 15 passenger van, would this be a usable vehicle for cargo van work? I can get the van for 700
Just be careful. Some contracts or gigs you earn won't hire you if your van is older than 2005-2006. Im sure you can find some direct contracts but it does limit your earning potential with a 20+ year van.
If you want to carry a real load on a 48x48 pallet. You need a Promaster 2500 High Roof. You can carry 2 pallets totaling 4000 lbs with that Van. I got one with 110k miles for $19,900. Got lucky :)
@@shawnintown what i'm saying is there's no reason to get a small van. it does the same work a car can do. it can only hold 1 pallet and that pallet can't weigh more than 1000 lbs. you're better off getting a full size van for the same price. plenty of good used full size vans in the price range you were showing. Including the one I secured for $19,900
I understand that however, not everyone can afford those. People gotta understand that you can make whatever vehicle work for you until you are able to upgrade. People gotta start from somewhere bro.
Okay I hear you but how much money is that "lexus es 350" gonna bring you in return. This is what I'm talking about, people who come on here with that backward thinking and say stupid stuff. But hey, you don't have a picture, so we can't see you. Say whatever you want however you want. Thanks for commenting.
@Shawn in Town My Ford E250 van is paid for, not looking for another one right now. I have commercial insurance, gig apps are limited here for some reason.
