I wear a TruFit because: 1. I used to have my dentist make them and they can get really expensive 2. My midlife crisis money was spent in my mouth. Yeah, I spent a fortune on implants and crowns 3. TruFit makes sense. Fits great, feels great and is a great idea in affordability and comfort
I've done plenty of kickboxing/jiu jitsu and always hated wearing a mouthguard. I wear a full face cage and don't find a mouth guard to be necessary in hockey but acknowledge that I should probably wear one.
I use a SISU because it was cheap, like 20 Canadian dollars and it doesn't impare my breathing, talking, or drinking. Probably not the best protection though.
I haven’t wore a mouth guard cause there the most common peace of gear to forget at home. I would also chew my mouth guards when I played in minor hockey to focus on the game and also I didn’t like have a mouth guard in my mouth. I stoped wearing a mouth guard cause hockey Canada came out saying that mouth guards are a chocking hazard for body contact and they came out and said this back in 2016/2017 so when they said it’s not mandatory to wear anymore I stoped wearing one. But with all the concussions I have gotten in Junior I plan to maybe start wearing one again
Used to wear a cheap/thin mouth guard, but no longer do. I know I should, but… Considered these mouth guards based on previous videos, but cost of the mouth guard itself is one thing, but charging for the fit kit and all put me off. Should be baked into the price. It would also be nice if they had more color options; glitter gold, stripes, matching NHL colors, etc
I don't wear a mouth guard because I just end up biting on one side. I play beer league level B too, so I don't wear a cup or shoulder pads either. Dentist keeps saying I should wear one obviously. Maybe if it is convenient, comfortable, and affordable.
If I wear a mouthguard, it’s one of those rigid Sisu ones. Not currently wearing as I wear a fishbowl while playing hockey (should probably wear one though) I don’t wear it because it’s hard to talk with it while one the bench/between periods.
I don't use a mouth guard, I don't actually have a reason why I don't. Mostly because I am an idiot if guess. In my 20s, I used a shock doctor mouth guard.
I used to wear a Shock Dr. Lower teeth mouthguard, but stopped wearing it when we were required to wear masks during the peak of COVID. Most mouthguards are too thick and make it difficult to communicate clearly on the ice. I’d try this brand if I could do it for free!
I don't use mouth guard because I have to order everything. There are very few equipment where I'm at, and they go fast. I have one crocked tooth because I've never gotten braces. So idk if they'll fit. Because hockey equipment are so expensive I have to really think of what I order and sometimes they don't fit properly. I've never used hockey equipment before and some stuff I ordered were not the right size like helmet and elbow pads. My helmet is a bit tight on the sides so I can't use the visor and my elbow pads were a bit small. I thought they would be big because some nhlers are huge
I use shock doctor for BJJ. Why is because I didn’t know any better and I hate the one I have. I am researching new ones and your video was the first to pop up for trufit.
I unfortunately wear a shock doctor mouth guard and it is the most uncomfortable thing in the world but unfortunately I can’t afford a more expensive mouthguard since I mainly spend on hockey gear other than mouth guards. I hate wearing my guard cause I have trouble breathing with it. But it is what it is
I got a SISU mouth guard, but stopped using it. I got it bc it was thin and I could talk, breathe and drink with it in. I use a cage when I play and it just didn't seem like it was actually doing anything. I don't particularly like the hardness of it honestly. So I just stopped using it and I didn't find a thin enough one when I was looking so I go without. I play at least 3 times a week so I'd like to have one in. I have a cage so I'm not worried about a puck to the face obviously, but I'm worried about being hit under my chin and something happening. So, I'm kinda on the fence with the whole mouth guard situation lol. This was interesting and it's pretty great they offer 3 levels of thickness AND the mold of your teeth stays in your account to make re-ordering simple and easy. I may reconsider 🏒💚 Also I love the ability to customize - always!
We are using the SISU Aero for myself and my son, mostly just because they are affordable and remoldable if needed. If you mold it well it basically clicks into your mouth, making it easy to talk, but they are not super thick I would love to win, but I am in the US if that makes it too difficult please feel free to share it with someone else more local
I don’t wear a mouth guard because I’ve never fount any that are comfortable enough to wear. I have a SafeJawz mouth guard but I can’t get along with it because it’s far too bulky.
I used to use Shock doctor, but more recently purchased a sisu. It's still unopened because I was recommended a large by the salesman, but the sizing on the packaging makes me think it might be too big. It's odd how their sizing is based on height instead of some measurement taken from the mouth.
So I’ve been wearing a visor for the first time recently and I’ve really enjoyed having the extra visibility but I’ve definitely gotten some close calls and almost lost some teeth and my mom is always telling me to get a mouth guard and I’ll probably end up going with trufit
I have one that I use for rugby that has sat in my hockey bag for a year and a half without having used it.. it fits ok but severely reduces communication ability.. don’t wear one as I don’t like my teeth anyway so if I loose them by eating puck the short term pain will be my gobs long term gain! 😂
Tru-Fit is the shi. Fits so well it practically snaps into your teeth. Totally unlike the bulky cheap guards that gag you and make it harder to breathe. Great customer service too.
I'm not using one because I have tried 6 different brands and experienced nothing but frustration. Usually too stiff or doesn't fit and pops out during a shift or too soft so I gave up and switched to a face shield instead and not using a mouthguard anymore!
I don’t use a mouthguard because I wear a cage. Before I had a custom mouthguard made by a dental technician. He also made a mold of my teeth like truefit does.
Currently using a Shock Doctor as I used to like them back when I played football. Im not as much of a fan now as its hard to communicate on ice with it
im on and off with my mouthguard I currently use a Sisu Aero i like it cause its lower profile then some other guards but its very rigid and I feel it hard to communicate with the mouth guard in. i only wear if I'm getting hit a lot that game.
I don't use a mouth guard. I have a very narrow, width wise in the roof of my mouth and mouth guards have always made me gag. Also I do not wear a cage or visor.
I used to use a sisu but only lasted a week or so and throw it in the bin It was uncomfortable and cut into my gum and made me bork. Don't bother with one now. Great vid going to have to look in to one of these
I use a custom mouth guard that i got made by my dentist i was not using one but chipped a tooth and that lead to more dental bills then where needed so got my dentist to make me a custom one after the work was done
I’m not using a mouth guard yet. I will be once the league I just signed up starts. Gotta keep the money maker looking good. I like this style of mouth guard. Looks like this is the one to go with. Thanks for the informative video.
I'm using a SISU Mouthguard. I wanted to order a Trufit Mouthguard but I live in Germany and the shipping costs about 250$. So I decided to take a SISU Mouthguard. Hopefully they will work together with a European or German laboratory to reduce shipping costs one day.
I wear a Sisu. But as you mentioned in one of your earlier videos about mouthguards, it’s hard and i don’t think it’s gonna help if you fall and clinch your teeth together hard. Since watching your videos about Truefit customs i have been really eager to try one of theirs. I was about to order one from Truefit until i noticed the shipping cost to Sweden is going to be 125,00$… That’s quite pricey for something i don’t know will work. Too bad, i really would like to try one of Truefit Custom mouthguards.
I wear a trufit, and although I absolutely LOVE it(from watching your vids), I wish I went with a thinner cut for my use case. Thanks for the recommendation, top shelf as always!
After getting cross checked in the face and losing multiple teeth I need one of these. Yes I was wearing a competitors mouthguard (Sisu). Three dental surgeries and $3k CAD in dental bills later, here I am. Please, I need one of these.
I'm not using one currently. Just haven't thought much about it. Im only playing pick up games, but there are the unintentional collisions here and there. Truefit's look like a good option.
I use to wear one, I play jr hockey. I used the sisu because that was the thinnest and didn’t affect my breathing nor too much of my communication. I would still take it out and talk between shifts or on the bench. Taking it out continuously lead to me not wearing a mouth piece at all.
I only wear a mouth guard when it’s mandatory for certain leagues. I don’t wear them regularly because every time I take them off for water it gets kind of messy
My son not wearing a mouth guard as he use helmet with a complete cage and only a few people in the team use a mouthguard (those with an open shield). Now I was reading about it that it protects as well against concussions we will check out to buy one. The Trufit looks good and as it is custom fit with 3 thicknesses it will probably the one to go for. Thanks for the video guys.
I am currently using a shock doctor trash talker. Have not tried anything custom but would love to. I like the trash talker, but I know that there are thinner and better fitting out there.
Nice vid definitely a good theme to talk about when a lot of people just don’t think about mouth guards and when you talk about them it’s mostly not positive so nice to help promote a good product
I wear a Truefit mouthgaurd... because of your videos. They really are the most comfortable mouthgaurds I've ever worn, and I can speak clearly with them (mostly)
