Before Blackbeard got his second fruit and was considered to be unstoppable he was already pretty powerful. He managed to straight up beat Ace, the same guy who’s able to clash with Aokiji and react to Akainu, meaning already in speed, he should at least be able to block and evade his attacks. After getting folded by Whitebeard he would get the last laugh and proceed to kill him. Then somehow obtained two devil fruits and not only just any kinda fruits, the two arguably strongest devil fruit powers a person could get. One is the one whitebeard used to blatantly overwhelm Akainu, and the other is a fruit that negates other fruit abilities. Now based on this yall are probably thinking okay this match isn’t close and Blackbeard surely should just beat him up after attaining both fruits right? Well not exactly. We see in Akainus fight with whitebeard not only does he fight a less weakened one, but somehow survives off guard attacks from an enraged Whitebeard. He was even confident enough to take on Crocodile Jozu and Marco + the other commanders, which is insane. We even see Van Augur after the war sensing Akainu hunting them down, and he believes that the best course of action is to run. However, the topic gets a lot more interesting when talking about the Egghead versions of these characters. You see, not only had Blackbeard had 2 years to master his devil fruits, but now he’s showing feats that are definitely yonko tier, like doing a lot better against Law than Big Mom.We also have the whole narrative of him being the strongest but I don’t believe we can say that just yet with what’s been shown and you’ll see why I don’t think this is the case. Whos arguably holding back on Garp at least to SOME degree, and as we know this Aokiji lost to Akainu after fighting for 10 days straight. And this makes sense as Akainu back in Marineford wasn’t trying to destroy the area but rather protect it, and he even had 2 whole years to improve. Now I played out their scales, but how can we compare them? Well we can actually use Aokiji as a comparison, because Blackbeard is arguably stronger than Aokiji like how Akainu is. The reason I say arguably is because Blackbeard is the captain and usually they’re the strongest, and it’s weird for Aokiji to submit to someone weaker than him even if he’s tryna betray him or whatever theory is out there to justify this. But the argument is there because.. Blackbeard was sweating? Even though his whole intention was for him to join. It’s weird to say because if you think Blackbeard is superior by a vague amount, then he and Akainu are probably going to fight for Days on end, and it’ll come down to hax. Which means Blackbeard would more than likely try to suppress Akainu's fruit to suppress the damage, and then hit him with quake punches that hit his internal organs, and just spam that until he barely wins the fight. But if “aokiji made Blackbeard swear” and “he’s a member of sword and joined on purpose” then Akainu just folds this man like how I said he does in pre timeskip. But I believe the first option to be more likely as Akainu mid diffing Blackbeard seems unreasonable especially with what the story has been setting up, but hey if you believe that to be the case then by all means go ahead and push your agenda. But I believe just barely, Fraudbeard manages to sneak a W against the most fraudulent Marine of today, Akainu.
