I agree. Me too. I'm a huge Alan Jackson fan.

i have not watched the cma's for many years, ever since the dixie chicks, oh thats right they sold out to the woke people and changed their name to the chicks. no balls, no backbone, no common sense, and once all of the rap country shit hit. i used to watch them every year, but will never again. i do not watch any of the music award shows any longer. got all about being black and and pretty much black only. no balls, no back bone. i guess people liked watching a bunch of black men up on stage grabbing their crotch and just mostly being ignorant. i have no problem with black singers and players. i love all of the old motown stuff. real talent and good music. who wants to hear about rich black people complaining about being oppressed and killing cops.

Good for you AJ. Charlie Rich walked out of one and never went back. The industry has totally ruined the music. There is very little individualism in the songs nowadays. They all sound the same. I stopped listening about 8 years ago myself. Prior to that, you could actually tell the difference in style and voice between the artists. Now a days, all the male singers sound exactly alike with their oversaturated auto-tune dubbed vocals, and all they sing about is wanting to score, sometimes with other dudes. No thanks! As for Alan walking out, it's funny how for years I only heard that he "walked out during the Dixie Chicks performance", which I could understand, but it did make him sound a bit diva. Until I watched this video, I had no clue that satanic Beyonce was part of the act. Now, I'm outraged that the Dixie Chicks didn't walk out as well!🤬

I love country music and played in a country band and did some of Alan's music, and he is one of the best, but still seems a little racist to me, just sayin!

But Alan does have enormous talent and a nice voice and country values. He is such a humble, although now very rich man with integrity, too. Everyone has there own niche. Like Bill Monroe is Bluegrass, which I appreciate. I think of my mother's generation. She grew up just like Loretta Lynn only on a mountain in Tennessee. I grew up listening to Loretta and others on country radio in the sixties and 70's. My cousins in Tnn had to come off the mountain and work in town if they did not want to be miners. When Alan came along in the early 90's, he appealed to people like me and my cousins because no, we were not as country as our parents were, or people like you, but he was way more country than the pop country radio era of the 80's and he reminded us of growing up listening to what mom and dad did. Loretta Lynn's country holler home sounds different than yours, but it was definitely country in the woods like you, only with more mules maybe than horses. Dolly just produced a one hour tv special that was a love letter to all her fans. She simply sat in a chair talking and singing some of her finest classic songs. Dolly talked just like an aunt who had seen everything and was just saying ,"It's ok,we are going to be just fine." through her great music. The entire hour was a very unhollywood hour of reflection,class and love from a legendary singer. I watched the whole hour and was glad Dolly produced it so she could say what she wanted to say the way she wanted to say it.

No-one and I mean NO-ONE will be singing any of the songs recorded since the late 1990's in 50 years from now. But today we still sing, play and listen to country songs from 50 or more years ago. Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Jim Reeves....and on and on. Country music is broken and I'm afraid there's likely no fixing it.

Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson... sometimes they'll cover some of the newer stuff, but young and old still request Cash and Nelson. I was never really raised on country, but I did hear a lot of it growing up, and over the years, I have come to admire many of those artists. Granted, I'm a child of the 70's/80's, so some of my country preferences were the likes of Alabama, Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Bros. Band, Kenny Rogers, Eddie Rabbit, Ronnie Milsap, Juice Newton, but I also liked some songs by Marty Robbins, Willie Nelson ("Pancho and Lefty" was one of my favorites as a kid. I cannot remember the other artists involved in the song, but the vocals were so evocative). Airways glad to meet a fellow musician, and an artist, to boot. (Well, I'm just a singer... so I hang out with musicians...lol). Keep it country, my friend. 🙂

I did watch the show but didn't know the background story till seeing this and what Alan did spoke volumes on how he felt about Country Music and this may had been embarrassing to CMA which they very much were evasive of what they were going to do and this collaboration between The Chicks and Beyonce was okay but it cause a lot of divide on social media which is why CMA did what they did which no doubt many people very much given up on awards show that's becoming a dog & pony show.

Nashville is now a Disgrace.

What do you call "traditional"?.. 50 years ago?.. 60? 100?..150? music changes constantly. Dwight Yoakam wasn't Tex Williams.. Tammy Wynette wasn't Patsy Montana.. Johnny and June weren't Lulubelle and Scotty.. I wouldn't want Beyonce attending either.. as a performer.. but things shift and I wonder how many of the "traditionalists" are old enough to have ever heard Hank Thompson's "Humpty Dumpty Heart' or Al Dexter and his Troopers' "Triflin' Gal" or Don Gibson's "Oh, Lonesome Me" I'm not bitching at you.. just pointing out the fact that as new people come along, the old traditions are easily swept aside and forgotten. I also understand his motivation for walking out. Leaving the show and not making a big noise about it says more than the words could.

@@philipanderson4673 perhaps, but when you listen to Dwight Yoakam you can hear the Texas Playboys and other influences. When you listen to modern "country" you can hear the influences there as well--and those influences are not country, but bad rock, house, hip hop, and cRap.
