Preamble: I began playing guitar because I was already into writing poetry and singing, and it seemed natural to me to combine the two. My dad was a BA in music and was into Country/Folk/Rock Music, so I just learned from him. Situation #1: I have learned copious amounts of covers. Situation #2: Like you, I have written over 200 songs, only less than 50 of which are up online as recordings which I myself produced. Situation #3: I used to play for friends, back when I had any. I am advancing in age, though I don't look it. I guess the problem I have could be defined simply as Writer's Block. What do I write, that people are going to consider relevant, after more than 100+ years of music being recorded? I don't know! Do you? People tend to call this problem the catchy name of "analysis paralysis." I call it "menu shock." There are so many choices, and I don't know which path to take. I am so familiar with popular music that I am stuck. The instant I pick up my guitar, I have 40 bajillion different pieces of music occur to me. I've forgotten songs that I used to know. Where do I go from here? You asked me to say something in the comments. Well, here I am. 🙁
This comes back to writing music for yourself. You're thinking about writing music that's relevant, as you said. What about what's relevant to you? Also, this might help: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ECFNC4RoSC4.html

@@gyanankurpatgiri4272 oh yeah I understand now. That's something I've been working on organizing for a bit now actually, but I'm making that part of the upcoming Patreon. I've been at this a couple years now and it's cost farrrrr more than the tiny bit you get on Google ads, so I had been thinking about all kinds of things I can put on a patreon for like a dollar or two a month that have real value to people worth way more than that.
