I made a mistake asking for a public record request from the Pennsylvania state police. I waited until I could see what the charges were and I was cited for disorderly conduct and fighting with first responders. I requested a magistrates hearing and prevailed there pro se. I wanted to wait and find out how many lies would be told at the hearing. Their case collapsed against me almost immediately because of the first amendment and freedom of speech . However the time between being cited and the magistrates hearing was over a month and with all of the action going on, they were able to dispose of the footage from the troopers video taken from his dash cam. So in my estimation don’t wait put in your record request as soon as possible because they may have like in my case disposal of video after a certain amount of time. One additional note is that the Pennsylvania state police do not have body cameras and you can just imagine why. The sweet spot in this is the trooper was arrested for domestic violence and is on unpaid leave at this point awaiting a trial.
