I have spent over half of my life working on the real supercars. I have nothing but appreciation for the people that build nice repli-cars. There is an art to them all that are nicely built. While working at a Ferrari dealership in 1987 I had a Dino 246 replica that even my boss did not know was fake till I told him. I did not build it I bought it that way from a man in California. Good replicas are hard to find. I am glad you like yours. Also, those Lambos before Audi bought Lamborghini were truly little more than the world's ultimate kit cars. I don't mean that in a bad way. The cars were shimmed everywhere. You had to keep a running count as to where and how many shims were in place or you would not get the car back together right again. I love Lambos but the truth is the truth.

this is the best replica of a countach I've ever seen and I'm a diehard lamborghini nut since I was 8 (36 now) the only thing other than hearing it i can remotely spot is the rear fascia. it's obviously modeled after a 1988 1/2 model with the side skirts but they were the quatrovalvole engines. I would switch the s badge to the quatrovalvole badge if possible. that's the carbureted engine cover too. the fuel injected has the 2 humps. not sure how many carbureted cars were made in this time frame before they fully switched to fuel injection. I know Harry Metcalf has a carbureted car. I love it. I usually gawk at the replicas but this one is quite good!

wow I can't believe you have this car. Luc started building this car from scratch, he had rented a small space in my father's warehouse way back. When I asked him what he was building, and he responded a replica countach.... i quietly walked away and laughed. But slowly but surely, I was surprised as it came to life. He actually had a friend with a real countach that would show up and he would take measurements off it and mold pieces. anyways, congrats, that car is pretty much the best replica out there.

I purchased a 2012 Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 in 2014 when I was 37 year's old. I always wanted to buy a Lamborghini since I was young and seen a couple around town.

I remember seeing this car up for sale! I was actually interested in contacting the seller but I ended up buying a 1984 Lotus Turbo Esprit instead, had been my first real dream car. Very nice ride that you've got there!

Inside my Trapper Keeper I had a 1989 Countach folder I still remember to this day. It's been as close as I've gotten to getting a real one. haha

Great story. I bought a Diablo a couple of years ago, the real deal. It is a project car and needs work. I to sit in the garage sometimes and just look at it. Maybe in a year or so, the interior, paint and some small engine issues are resolved I can enjoy it again.

I'm glad you bought the one you have and not that other white one, it looked like a kit car, your looks authentic. I really liked that black one , too bad the roof is too low. I would need one higher too, I'm 6'4". Even DeTomaso Panteras had low roofs that people over 6' couldn't drive without tilting their heads. When Magnum P.I. chose the Ferrari 308 GTS for Tom Selleck, they had to take the brackets on the bottom of his seat off and bolt the seat directly to the floor because he's my height and when they did scenes with the roof on, which were only a couple, Tom could actually fit in there with the roof on. I agree with you, I think I would spend a lot of time sitting in the garage staring at it too. The Lamborghini Countach got me interested in drafting and design as well as machining, fabrication, and engineering when I was in high school much like yourself, the thought of buying a replica however never really crossed my mind (until recently) when I noticed to real car only got 5 miles per gallon of fuel and that the quality of the replicas had improved considerably with the addition of carbon fiber and Kevlar composites instead of just fiberglass, amazingly bringing the prices of the replicas down to a more affordable ball park price point. I'm looking at a freshly built one here on RU-vid right now for around $20,000.00. While it may still be a few years off for me it's nice to know the replicas of these cars are becoming within financial reach.

It's funny, because I always kind of considered the real Countach to look like a replica of a supercar. Something about it just always looks so klunky to me. But, I get it, it was the 70's.

That is a very realistic looking replica. Especially the rims. You always see strange rims on the Kit Cars vs. Real Deal, but yours looks perfect. If only you could do something with the exhaust sound to make it sing a bit in higher notes. You have something to be very proud of there regardless.

Well done your car is lovely. I have just purchased an white with red interior Ferrari 430. I cannot afford the real one but admit it turned heads when test driving it and it felt good. No worries all the negative comments you will receive is just jealousy.

This car, even in kit form takes me back to my childhood!! Happy memories of watching cannonball run. I had this and a poster off a rally spec Toyota celica gt4 185. I always promised myself I would own one and I did. So maybe one day Ile have a Lamborghini...in some form. Grt vid

Thanks Todd lovely machine, Lamborghini builds the most beautiful cars on the planet and like you I always loved them and always dreamed of owning one. I would often daydream looking at my posters as a kid, at 52 I still admire them all, especially the 70's and 80's exotics, cars like Maserati are just not the same as the olden day Maserati's. Haaaa. I had a similar number 7 shirt, back in the day. Remember back in the 80s going to Fort Lauderdale cruising the strip, there was a white alpine Lamborghini cruising with the sound system cranked. Blew my mind.

As a kid growing up I saw my first countach in Italy I pointed at it and said to my dad what is that I want one when I grow up my dad burst out laughing I was really puzzled till he told me how much they are didn't spoil my dream though

OK thanks, I thought it sounded more like a V8, interesting that you chose the Corvette engine, I think it's a good match when you consider the Corvette is the US version of a European sports car and I bet it's much easier to get parts for than an original V12 from Italy

This is a pretty good replica. One thing that really stands out are the white CORRECT Lamborghini wheels; most others fail in this respect and use the generic chrome "25th Anniversary" wheels. Kudos to getting this important detail correct!

This Lamborghini replica you bought looks amazing.

I'm not mechanically inclined but where can you take a lambo replica to have tune ups, repairs such as replacing the clutch, etc.... Even oil changes. I certainly don't want to take it too a jiffy lube for oil changes. I am looking way down the line of owning a lambo diablo replica.

It's certainly got the look. Very authentic!. Shame about the engine sound though, seeing that sexy lambo, then hearing what sounds like an old pickup truck with exhaust driving away. .. One of the best things about a big lambo is hearing that V12 song!! Maybe one day dude can find a used BMW, Mercedes or Jag V12 and swap it in there.

When I was 19 I was looking at those same magazines. I lived in ireland. I took a trip to England to visit a company that sold the kits for the countach. I didn't buy my kit because on my way home to Ireland I met an American girl and I ended up in California 6 months later. 30 yrslater and I'm still here and I never built a car. I've owned some nice cars though.
