ukkr the unabomber wasn’t leftist lol he hated the government growing and becoming more controlling and especially corporations taking over land that should be free to live on(natural/rural/wooded areas that haven’t been raped by housing developments and factories yet). There’s a good show on Netflix about him.
+Jon Deal Hey John, I am in no way trying to call you an "anti gun nut" as the last thing i want to is add to this thread with folks yelling back and forth with each others simply because there is a core difference of belief between gun lovers and well...."not so much gun lovers" talking about this type is better than that. I would like to ask though...is the musket you are referring like the ones they used in the revolutionary war? if your answer is yes than i would respectfully ask if you have evidence that shows folks using them in mass shootings and so on. Again...im not trying to staer and issue here....just curious. thanks
cullen darling He's saying that people like King George II (Leader of Britain during the Revolutionary War if I remember correctly) who tax and oppress places are anti-gun, and is comparing the anti-gun politicians with George. Jon is pro-gun, from what I can tell.
You're correct in that they are not assault rifles because they have no full auto/burst setting, but mil-spec parts are plentiful in the civilian market.
+Justin Lina If you read the gun control bills the wording is important. legalese is where they interchange words that all mean the same thing like in etemology. if they say assault weapons that could mean anything. but it they say semi auto assault weapons it changes everything. semi autos shoot one shot at a time. full autos well you get the point those are illegal to buy unless you have a class 3 license to get one which is hard to get. I could go on and on but I'll keep it simple.
+The Launching Pad I was referring to the incessant questions; "why do you need...", that progressives seem to ignorantly spew out. I was simply reiterating that firearms ownership is an unconditional right, not a transitory whim based on some misguided sense of public requirement.
@The Launching Pad, Seb0495 hits the nail on the head with his comment referring to why anyone needs an AR-15! The fact is our second amendment gives us the RIGHT to bear arms! Unlike driving a car, which is a privilege, owning a gun is a RIGHT! Of course there are laws in place to prohibit certain people who are not mentally fit to own a gun.
That's idiotic. You gave up your right to self govern when participating in a modern society. But you've surely not gone to school or learned any kind of basic reasoning for the existence of the police force. Keep hating those who keep your society together.
Brian Stuart Well, don't forget the Nazi Cyborg Zombie Apocalypse Obamination Across the Nation. Coming in 2015, Its in the works courtesy of the UN, lol.
Interesting thing, less then 2% of firearm deaths are from long guns, even less semi automatic long guns. Yet it's my ar that's the most dangerous thing since a ford pinto.
What's funny is that roughly 40k people die in the US by vehicles of any type. And roughly 40k die by guns of any type. But if we take away the "suicide by gun" stat, we're have roughly 13k people die by guns per year. So theoretically your pinto is 3x more dangerous than any gun. Because it can kill 3x ar many people.
Yes, instead of the Obama error!! I don't give a damn where they are from as long as they are taking our country in the right direction!! That at some of the remarks above!!
Curly27784 hope you guys know hes apart of the government. And NRA. He cant be touched his youtube page is to big hes got his own show on tv now. Hes good.
daulton stringer . . . you seem a smart fella . but i think your assessment of him being " too big " is erroneous . NO ONE is untouchable . i mean , hell , " they " killed people way more powerful and important than this guy .
Am I the only person here that feels like maybe, as a responsible firearm owner, it's an acceptable answer to say that I just like my guns? They are fun, they are potentially useful, and with the proper respect they are safer than a lot of other hobbies. Like, I don't have an ar10 because I feel like someone is going to attack my house with an ak, it is just really enjoyable to shoot.
Anti gunners: Nope that's way too scary. You simply like guns? How dare you, you must be a terrible human being. What could possibly be wrong with you. No one just "likes" guns. Ends statement crying for your weapons to be seized so that anti gunners may feel a little better at night. The rest of us: hey man you do you and stay safe.
Haha I'm right there with you, I have no problem with firearms, in fact I plan on applying for my ltc here in mass in the coming weeks, I don't want take any guns away. Quite the opposite,i want to put guns in the hands of as many responsible citizens as possible
carson rice Sure that's a good reason. I just hope that more people will come treat guns with respect, carefulness and common sense, instead of fetishizing and turning them into propaganda (or fear mongering and naivety of anti-gunners) items. You want a gun? Fine, but first you gotta prove your worth it and won't endanger your fellow man (be it intentional or not).
It's a good reason as long as you balance out how much money you spend on them. Especially if you have a family. I can understand that buying guns is cool but it still is more of a want then a need especially if you're going to buy your 10th gun or something.
What has turned you to GUNS? I'm BLACK and PRO-GUN! When I go to the range for a day shooting, I'm the only black person at the range. It has been that way for years. Born in LA lived there and in Compton. I did not grow up with guns, the US Army taught me the gun! USA from 121268-073081 plus Army National Guard (2 years). It is nice to see there are other black folks with a brain and know how to use it!
"What has turned you to GUNS? I'm BLACK and PRO-GUN! When I go to the range for a day shooting, I'm the only black person at the range." The rest is probably too busy robbing shops ans jacking cars with them. ;)
I do not 'need' to be a practicing Jew or 'need' my Dodge Viper, my wife does not 'need' a boob job, my bald brother doesn't 'need' hair plugs or a Portugese Water Dog. None of the ammendments to the bill of rights address 'need' or even want. I do not have to inform the government why I want to be a Jew. The Constitution simply acknowledges (does not 'give') the right to practice my religion. Piers Morgan constantly asks 'why' anyone 'needs' an assault rifle. Totally invalid question from the very start. We are not required to state a 'need' or even justify a 'want' when discussing "rights". End of discussion Piers!
You know what, Colion? Anti-gun legislators actually do know the difference between a semi- and fully-automatic rifle. They just don't want the public to know. Why? The answer is simple: Votes.
They don't know shut they get there info from call of duty The us gov just want full control so we won't fight back when we get tried of there bullshit
He was so right, I mean Obama was on television saying g we have to do something about the ease of obtaining a fully automatic assault rifle, I'm like what? Shit Mr. President, I don't think it'd be easy for you to get a fully automatic assault rifle let alone the average citizens.
CASTRO45ACP Its always a "automatic" or "assault" weapon. Its a matter of using the incorrect terminology to invoke a emotional response from people who have been conditioned to do so because they dont know how to think for themselves. Its is very easy to lead and direct stupidity.
I had a friend travel to a country in the East one time. He took a video of him bartering with a man who was selling AK47s for $300. Full-auto capable AK for $300...You think criminals can't get their hands on ASSAULT RIFLES? You, as an American civilian, can't get your hands on an ASSAULT RIFLE (legally) for less than $20,000, but criminals can get them for less than $1000. Assault rifles have select-fire capabilities, so an AR is not an assault rifle. An Ak74 is not an assault rifle. No high-profile shootings have involved assault rifles. But a criminal can get his hands on an assault rifle, so why can't I have one to defend myself? But arguing this concept to anti-gun people is like telling a child about the Theory of Relativity. It just doesn't compute. But when that day comes when they are attacked with a weapon and they have nothing but a taser or pepper spray to defend themselves with.....well, I won't have anything to say but "I told you so."
Yeah, and the countries where you can get them so easily are borderline war zones where the local government is probably outnumbered by warlords. Maybe we don’t want to live like that. They can bring them in? We make it harder for them to smuggle them in. And we do our best to ensure that only highly trained and sensible users can get them. People who actually want to defend themselves and those around them, anywhere. Also seriously? You’re trying a technicality? They’re automatic rifles that shoot intermediate rifle cartridges from a usually 30-round magazine.
n2cycles The AR-15 Is an awesome hunting rifle. It's quick, light, and you can shoot follow up shots with ease. I've used my POF chambered in .223 with a Eotech holographic sight/ magnifier combo EXCLUSIVELY for deer hunting over the last 4 years. Where I hunt, you don't ever have more than a 150 yard shot and it works beautifully. I've killed over 25 deer with that rifle and haven't lost a deer yet. I've never had to track a deer more than 30-40 yards. It's all about shot placement, just like it is with any other rifle round. If you gut shoot a deer with a 270, he's running a long way and you'll be tracking it a long way. A soft point .223 round does more than enough damage to take down any whitetail out there. These people that say .223 is too small of a round to use effectively for deer hunting, have absolutely no idea what the hell they are talking about.
You're intelligent, articulate, and very well spoken. More importantly you are absolutely right and this human being who just so happens to a white 58 year old male is proud to call any man who stands for freedom his brother. God bless you my brother. Titus 3:5
Good points. Never saw it from that angle. I've never been AGAINST semi-auto rifles, but I never understood their relevance in a civilian setting. Just always seemed overkill to me (no pun intended). But yeah, when you put it like that, it makes a bit more sense... Got even more research to do, now...
Owning a weapon does not make a person "overly paranoid, and irrational", any more than owning an umbrella does. The difference is, rain in your life is a certainty, while violent crime is merely a possibility. God forbid you should ever have to go through that, but if you do, what are they going to say about you: "He was prepared.", or, "He will be missed"
as·sault ri·fle noun a rapid-fire, magazine-fed automatic rifle designed for infantry use. If only they'd take 5 seconds out of their life to do a quick definition search they'd know the difference.
+booyaka4223 - my friend, that requires a precision milling bench as it has to be within thousandth's of an inch tolerance. You won't successfully do that with a hand drill in your garage. *Prices: PM-932M $2470.00* (without accessories)
The assault rifle is a term that was made up by the German army back in WWII, the MP44 had the name "sturmgewehr" (assault rifle in German) slapped on it as a piece of propaganda to make German troops feel more confident about their guns and to give the enemy a name to fear, due to the fact that the MP44 was a VERY effective gun as the world's first standard issue select fire medium range rifle issued in large numbers. Since then, medium range rifles gained popularity in militaries, and the name "assault rifle" for them stuck, since thats what the Germans used when they pioneered the field. its the same idea as the common 9mm round that people use these days for their handguns, the 9x19mm aka 9mm, 9mm para, 9mm Luger, is originally a German invention, and when it was adopted, they slapped the word "parabellum" (war maker in Latin) on the round as a matter of propaganda, so thats why you see "9mm para" on some designations these days. only the ignorant would be swayed by ancient Nazi propaganda... its sad to see the overwhelming majority of people as so ignorant about firearms.
Elc22 don't mix up peoples minds with facts. Assault rifle is a real term period it started with the stg then the ak then the m16. A rifle with a intermediate round that's why we have submachine gun battle rifle handgun lmgs ect. People don't like the truth those three rifles in every conflict were ment to assault and fuck up anyone in their path and did it well.
jdl 68 Assault rifles are a specific category of military weapon. My problem is with the made up term assault weapon. There's no such animal. The term was created by gun grabbers, anti-gun politicians and talking heads in the national media to scare people who don't know much about firearms.
I get really angry to hear these highly educated Congressmen say, you don't need an AR for hunting. WTF! Where, in all of their college classes, did they learn the 2nd Amendment is for hunting. Why do these clowns even hold office. Great Video.
ARs are a lightweight, low recoil Rifle. Adjustable stock allows easy change of LOP. Semi auto action is for Fast, follow on shots. Pictanny rails are easy mounting of Lasers (for better targeting) and Lights (better target illumination, EVERYTHING looks better with light on it)
I have one slingshot that throw arrows, 60# pound, i dont need a rifle, my character and belief its so big, my thinking its so Sharp that abundance is all around me....I attract prosperity in both expected and unexpected ways, readily and freely, on a frequent basis... Abundance in all its forms pervades me and surrounds me... I need only to open up and allow it to flow into my experience... Opportunities exist everywhere, and i have unlimited choices... I am a prosperity magnet. Prosperity of every kind is naturally drawn to me... I am ever grateful to be living in a joyful, abundant, giving, loving and harmonious Universe of the highest order, and it always provides me with all that i need... I believe and think big, and in doing so i allow myself to accept even more prosperity to enter my experience... I am truly believe in the art of sharing. giving and receiving my prosperity, and practice and reflect this belief in all my interactions... I prosper at all times and in every area of my life... I trust that the Creator, Universe, God, the divine spirit (or insert whatever higher power you belief in) supplies all my needs in great abundance and in perfect time... I only think prosperous thoughts, and my prosperity and abundance that is omnipresent and omnipotent... To further command prosperity to come forth for you. commit yourself to speak your chosen words of affirmation every day. if you cannot think of any words to use. simply state: All my words and my thoughts are charged with prospering power. And so shall they be. following are my two affirmations. a kind of "before and after" scenario of my life pre-manifestation and post-manifestation of the wild abundance and exquisite prosperity... I so desired... See if you can...🌍🌱🌿🌲🌳🌴🌞 Empower Your Self No More Fear ifafoundation . o r g
It doesn't make sense when the media asks.... "why does someone need a weapon that can fire 100 shots a minute?". I can do the same amount of shots with a pistol or hunting rifle in a minute. What are they going to ban next all semi pistols and handguns, and then revolvers? There were mass murders, wars, and corruption way before guns were invented.
The question "why do you need and assault rifle?" is the wrong question to ask. In a free society, the question isn't "why should you have an assault rifle?"; the right question is "why shouldn't you have it?" In a free society, of course
Well first off we haven't been able to own assault rifle since 1986 the definition of an assault rifle is 1: detachable mag, 2: fires an intermediate rifle cartridge, 3: has select fire capability (semi auto or full auto) therefore a semi auto AR is not an assault rifle it's a semi auto modern sporting rifle semi auto rifles date back to 1908 and full auto dates back to the 1880's so it's not a new concept
Ninjaman17 Still take a assault rife. 7.62x39 is a big dang bullet and most of the time you're going to fire semi auto but you still have the option of full auto if the need comes up. And the semi auto idea....kinda keeps it from being a assault rife.
j agree with you about the preference of having a high-capacity semi-auto rifle, but barring that availability, there's not much out there that will trump a good old pump action shotgun. Take my Winchester 1200 Defender, for example. It has a 20" cylinder bore barrel and an extended magazine underneath. It will hold 8 + 1 rounds of 00 buck. They ain't too many bad guys who'll be walking away from an encounter with that. The main reason why I even mention a shotgun preference is it's often a matter of logistics. My AR and its magazines are downstairs locked up in my gun safe. But my Model 1200 is upstairs by my bed. It rarely, if ever, sees the inside of a gun safe. I also have a couple of handguns, strategically distributed in the downstairs area of the house, so that I have those options if I need them. But the main thing I'm getting at is -- I need some notice if I'm gonna bring the AR into any fight. And I'm not really liking the idea of leaving it laying around in the open downstairs. If a situation does develop while I'm downstairs and I don't have the time to unlock my safe (it's got an old-fashioned dial), I have a Ruger SR9C within arms reach with both magazines loaded and ready to go. I guess it'll just have to do.
7.62 x39mm If it was ok I'd wear a battle belt everyday with a rifle. Plates might be a tad to much for me in every day life but I'd support you if you had full gear.
7.62 x39mm I wear a full tactical belt daily. Has my pistol, 2 extra magazines, pepper spray, taser gun, cuffs, and a collapsible baton and flashlight. People can think what they want but it's not illegal and makes me feel good and that's all that matters lol
+Chris Hall - Sorry Chris, Bill Clinton was tabbed as the first black president when he was in office by Al Not-so-Sharpton, Jessie Jack-off-son and the NAALCP. Odumas is known as a creamy.
Every definition i've ever read for "Assault Rifle," specifies a selective-fire weapon. I'd really appreciate id both advocates, and the media would stick to the dictionary definition. A civilian AR is no more an Assault Rifle, than is a semi-auto Deer Rifle. Likewise, the media constantly refers to " high-powered" rifles and assault rifles. Again, by definition, an Assault Rifle uses an intermediate power cartridge- Grandad's Winchester Model 70 is substantially more powerful.
Gabriel MacDonnell The round discharged by an AR (either 5.56 or .223 Rem) is not sufficiently powerful to be used (legally) for deer in most states. At the end of the day it's just a hopped-up (faster) .22 round. I actually have some .22 rounds which, at 60 grains (Aguila sub-sonic), weigh more than the standard AR rounds. I HAD a "high powered assault rifle" ... a Mosin Nagant which, having been manufactured in 1938, likely saw use assaulting as many Germans as possible. At under $200, I don't see why more thugs don't use them. :-).
I deer hunt with my AR in Missouri and it's legal here. I've killed 4 deer with it so far. Also my AR is technically select fire I guess it has a binary trigger.
Jack Johnstone People don't forget that they just don't care to take 10 minutes of their precious time to research something they know nothing about. Most anti gun people are like the people that judge others for the types of foods they eat even though they have never tried them on their own. They just assume is nasty even though they haven't tried it...
Jack Johnstone Yo bro! Tell me about it. I am in Australia and things are shitstorm here. Bearing arms is the last form of defence against a tyrannical government. History is the greatest teacher.
We need to have equal fire power against a tyrannical government. I believe we do have a tyrannical government and that is why they want our guns with 30+ round magazines.
I just got my cc license and my first hand gun. I have been a hunter since I was about 10 years old but never had much dealings with semi auto pistols. I have learned a lot watching your videos and look forward to watching more. Thanks also for the "assault weapon" question. I hear people all the time including some of my favorite actors say the same thing about "why would a citizen need an AR"? Thanks for saying what makes sense....I think if you are a law abiding citizen you should be able to own a tank if you can afford it. When I joined the Navy in 1969 I pledged to uphold and defend the constitution against both foreign and domestic forces. I am at a point where I am more concerned about the domestic forces, aka "the government"! Thanks again for the great info. ps I still haven't gotten passed cambering my 9mm while it's in my pants. I'll get over it soon I hope!
Mr. Noir, I seriously enjoy your videos. Always gives me hope and a peaceful mind for some reason. Also I love your intro, I never get tired of it. Thank you for what you do.
That's the first REASONABLE argument I've listened to. Everyone is so hateful when it comes to talking about this. I appreciate your opinion and explanation.
"There is nothing pretty about self defense, it's ugly, it's nasty and very scary" That is an excellent observation.Thank you for that. I am getting to respect and like you more and more.
Mr.Colion, I wish you had a larger platform to get the message out. You might be able to reach more people. You make so much sense and explain things very well. It is refreshing to see an intelligent arguement to these antigunners that want to infringe on our rights.I share your videos with everyone I can.I live on the westside of Chicago and All I ever hear is antigun sentiment because of all the gang and police shootings.Thank You for All You Do and Keep up the Great Job.
+Michael Hatfield Problem on his platform is he has allied and is sponsored by the NRA which undercuts his credibility no matter how logical the message. Unfortunately the NRA is not always the most logical of organizations when it comes to their 3million members and response to the eye poking liberals in government give. They wig out and start talking about Nazis and everyone just ignores them (except those taking their money).
I've always had a problem with the definition "assault rifle" as used by the anti gun crowd. An assault rifle is what the military carries, capable of either full auto or burst modes. 99% of civilians have semi automatic rifles which I don't consider them as assault rifles. Many civilian guns look like them though.
So glad we have Colion Noir. I'm constantly hearing how the NRA is only against gun control because gun control would hurt gun manufacturers. Maybe thats true for some people at the top who are getting those kick backs, but most gun owners aren't motivated by money. We have legitimate concerns and Colion is great at calmly and effectively communicating this.
Plus, shooting "assault rifles" are a great way of bonding. I just got back from the range today with my visiting from out of town dad. This trip to the range was the first time we shot rifles together in over 20 years ! and I couldn't have accomplished this without a couple of Colt M4s and ACOGs !,,,
_"There is no need to own a fully-automatic AK-47!"_ I absolutely agree. However, as a gun nut and Cold War enthusiast, I really really *want* to. *Especially* if the AK in question is an East German MPi-KM (or even better, an MPi-KMS-72). I would save up for years for that...
I had No idea that I would be So VERY FORTUNATE !!! To come across your post. I could have searched all day and night, and STILL couldn't of come up with EVERYTHING I needed to hear from such an Intelligent, Responsible, Normal, Down to Earth Dude, like yourself. I was Just having a friendly conversation with a person who is Anti assault, or whatever one chooses to call the weponry. You just summed up Every Point I was trying So Hard to convey, in a few minutes. I tip my hat, and give you All the Praise that you so "Richly" deserve. I'll stand by you, and would give Anything, to be in such Good company with someone like you, when/If ( God forbid) the Shit Ever hit the fan ? I would be PROUD to call you Friend !!! Your family and Loved one's are Extremely Fortunate, to have you in their Lives ! Thank you Sir .. Going to share this on the thread I was Just talking on. WOW !!!!
Very articulate in your explanation on this subject. Good job. The only problem you’ll have my friend is that the ignorant people who still believe “AR” stands for assault rifle will remain ignorant. No matter how many of us try to explain your points to them, they will continue to promote out beloved semiautomatic as an evil weapon of war and no civilian show own it. I hope you, as I will continue to enjoy my rifle.
Older video but right on the money, Mr. Noir. Semi-Auto does not constitute a fully automatic assault rifle: one that keeps firing until you release the trigger-or run out of cartridges. It simply looks scarier than a bolt-action rifle or even something along the lines of a Ruger ranch rifle, which is also, of course, a semi-automatic rifle. Keep up the informative videos!
And before anyone flames my comment about the Ruger Ranch rifle being semi-auto, I was referring to the Mini 14 and not their bolt-action ranch rifle. Just to be clear! Take care.
I'm behind you. We as humans and Americans have the God given right to protect ourselves from all enemies, especially tyranny. "The tree of liberty must be watered from time to time with the blood of tyrants and patriots to ensure its survival".
Totally understand your point. Defend yourself and yours however you can, a "fair" fight is a losing fight. The only issue I have is the Reds cap ,Go Cardinals, keep up the good work.
He make' s total sense, but what's really funny is a 12 gauge is more devastating than an assault rifle for home defense. People have posted videos showing the damage comparisons (ar vs 12g). And these new shotguns can hold alot of shells. Especially the magazine feed ar15 style shotguns. Personally i love the Fostech Origin 12 with a 20 round drum for home defense.
YES, FINALLY! Someone else says what I have been saying for years... By their very design, the weapons in question are THE perfect, BAR NONE, tools for self defense, of ALL things, life, liberty, freedom, etc. This man is clear, concise and factual. Brilliant! Just subscribed.
An Assault Rifle (military definition) is an individually served (not crew served) select fire weapon (having semiautomatic or fully automatic fire), that fires a intermediate-power cartridge, which is more powerful than a pistol-caliber cartridge (which would make it a sub machine gun, such as the Uzi or Thompson Machine Gun) but less powerful than a full-sized rifle cartridge (which would make it a battle rifle, such as the M14 or FN FAL.) Since select fire (or any fully automatic) weapons have been generally banned in the United States since the Firearm Act of 1938, only persons with special licenses can obtain them, and they are generally heirloom items, not made since the ban went into effect. Also interesting, when it comes to the actual killing power of the ammunition used, the "Assault Rifle" round is the MEDIUM power cartridge, not the high powered one. Case in point: The AR-15 fires the .223/5.56mm round, which is typically a 55 grain bullet. Your granddad's old bolt action Remington chambered in 30-06 typically fires a 165 grain bullet, equivalent to THREE AR-15 rounds. The AR-15 round is the same caliber, and only 15 grains heavier than the bullets fired from the .22 LR chipmunk rifle your granddad taught you to shoot soda cans with. And for the record, the 22 LR is also a deadly round. All ammunition is. But the amount of power, and the inertia imparted to any object the bullet hits is not comparable. Full power ammunition, such as that used for hunting, is designed to drop a 300 pound deer dead in it's tracks so that the animal does not run off or suffer. "Assault Rifle" ammunition is designed to WOUND a 180 pound man, and take him off of the battlefield without killing him, so that he continues to use up resources and a hospital bed. Because, in combat, a severely wounded soldier is worth 2 dead soldiers, as far as the impact on resources spent on sustaining the combat force is concerned. That number jumps to 3 if the country caring for the injured gives them modern-level care. This is the reason that all modern militaries in the world issue the majority of their forces weapons that use reduced-power rounds, not full power rounds such as they did in World War II and World War I. Also, a single piece of unfired ammunition is called a cartridge, or a "round." If it is shotgun ammunition, it is called a shell. It is NOT a bullet. The bullet is only one piece of the cartridge; it also contains a charge (the 'gunpowder'), a primer (if you want the cartridge to actually fire) and a casing that holds everything together until it's ready to be used. There was a time when all of these components were separate, and a soldier had to put them together, correctly, in order to fire. Calling a cartridge a "bullet" is like calling a car a "front bumper." Don't get me started on "clips." Unless you fought at Normandy or Iwo, they don't exist. Quit using the word. /rant.
Used to ask the same question when the ban was lifted in 04, then joined the ROTC in college and got to play with the real thing at the Fort Indiantown Gap and I now no longer ask the question.
