To the first person’s story if you’re reading: tell as many people as you can. Tell your teachers and all of the school admin. Tell everyone! Do not back down and always be surrounded people. Threaten to go to the police. Sick of these fuckers thinkin they can do what they do want. This is a potentially very dangerous situation. Start carrying concealed weapons and don’t go anywhere (like the bathroom alone). Protect yourself bc in situations like these, people do not take it seriously until it is too late. Please advocate for yourself.

That first story reminded me of when I was a freshmen in high school, this guy behind me kept shaking his legs on the basket underneath my desk and it made me nauseous. I kept telling him to stop but he kept doing it anyway and used all sorts of excuses. He first said he couldn’t help it because he was on the track team and then it escalated to me being dramatic. Everyone in the class and teacher thought we liked each other because “boys will be boys” and because I was “reacting”. I hated his guts and even when I didn’t react and moved my desk away, he’d purposely move his desk near me or if he did get assigned a different seat, he would loudly proclaim how it didn’t bother another classmate so it shouldn’t bother me. I still get so angry when I think about him. It’s not cute and boys really need to stop that shit. I could also relate to Eddie’s mom because my mom is same but about me being a woman. She always nags at me for not being ladylike and always has to mention what men will and won’t like about my personality and behavior. It’s like my entire self worth is based on how much of a woman I am.

okay i am just going to leave this here for the girl from Indonesia whose mom doesn't understand how important friends are. I realized it too late that the nagging and controlling (cuz my parents never let me go out not just complain about it) was actually emotional abuse disguised as "care and love". I had to spend weeks trying to explain how important it was for me to go and other times i just lied and skipped class cuz i was so done trying to ask for permission to just go chill at a friend's place with everyone. and all of this was when i was in uni. I had to go through hell to finally get my eyes opened and see that it was pure narcissistic control over my life that they wanted... and i still am stuck in that hell. and looking back i cannot believe i didn't see all the shit they put me through cuz it wasn't just this. I know i am probably (hopefully) wrong in your case but look at your life a little critically and also at how your mother behaves when you try to explain your heart to her. Look at what things you do she disapproves of and if those things are regular not harmful things. If you see that she is just being a worried parent about your safety and "what will people say" then very seriously and kindly start to lay out your boundaries and stick to them. it is your life and you have the right to live it the way you want to, only then you won't resent others in the future. and hey, if she is a good person she would understand soon enough. i know me saying it could be emotional abuse seems like a lot... but i would have swore as a teenager that my parents did everything out of their love for me... and i also think it is perfectly okay to view our relationships critically cuz if they a green flag then why get afraid of questioning?

1. Tell the guy to his face he's way too in your personal space, back off. Tell him he can sit anywhere he wants, but he has no right to sexual harassment so stop breathing on your neck. Tell him his behaviour is childish and is making you respect and like him less and less. Above all else let your friends know so they can look out for you. They can tell him to his face how whatever he's doing is not cool. If he tries to get back at you saying he doesn't even like you or you're delusional or whatever, he's playing a social game so play it before him. Character assassination is not good, but you have to have support from your friends in case anything blows up. If he's not playing a social game and it's just to soothe his ego and has no effect other than that you don't need to care about what he says. When you react, don't react agitatively but calmy perhaps strongly. Feel your emotions but calm them down before you push it outside. That's the advice I'd give as someone whose years of being a kid are still not that far away. 2. Literally one of my friends. Prefer that to someone who can't be present when you're in front of them. 3. Guy doesn't look available. Forget it. 4. Relationships evolve over time including parent-child. Stand your ground, see where she's coming from, renegotiate your relationship. 5. That has a name and it's called "Limerence". You can look it up. If you have that, it's something to look into and work on, but maybe it's also just not the right opportunity for you yet as well. No need to rush. 6.
