We sadly have a President and Vice President and their whole admitastraition. That absolutely doesn't care about American citizens. They absolutely do not care about anything but themselves. And I believe that it's unexceptable that Joe Biden isn't doing anything for Israel and it's citizens over there. And proving Iran supporting Hamas to murder the Jews in Israel.
Even if you don't do drugs, people could try to poison you for whatever reason. So, all this don't do drugs is crazy, bc innocent people die all the time because someone slipped it into their drink or food. 😱

Right, it all comes from Mexico and China, not the 100s of illegal drug labs in the U.S. and when there is a bust of these labs the national media don't don't carry it nor report it, always looking for an escape goat and foreign monster
You can’t stop the free market. The war on drugs is dumb. The market will supply what people want. If you want to stop drug use you have to understand why people want to use it in the first place.
The modern opium crisis began with the sackler family selling oxycotin as a non-addictive opioid in the 90's, which was a lie. The FDA allowed it. In 2001 regulations started changing and the cartels stepped in to sell opioids to all the people who suddenly couldn't acquire them and were now addicted. Since that time it's been spiralling out of control because our government is complicit.
We had it but it didn't boom until after all the pill crackdowns and it only recently started getting attention because idiots are dropping like flies because now it's all opioid addicts can get. Prescription pills and heroine are pretty much extinct.
I have severe pain in my back an a friend gave me a fentanyl patch from his doctor, that was around 4 years ago I never used it because I’m afraid of even legal fentanyl
I have documentation proving I asked my pain management nurse and doctor to wean me off fentanyl patches in 2008. After other patients warned me back then how powerful it was I decided I didn't need something that powerful. Withdrawal still was hard, dreams of different colored bugs coming up out of the floor. Vivid red, yellow, black, etc.
@@WLBarton4466I use to dream of monkey's breaking through my ceiling and attacking me three at a time. I use to wake up soaked with sweat and scared like it was actually happening. All that stuff plays tricks on your mind
No matter how much help is offered, no matter how much money is invested in shelter, programs, etc... An addict WILL NOT change unless they WANT TO CHANGE. People need a HAND UP, not a HANDOUT. I speak from personal experience.
I agree with you completely. I speak from experience too and I didn't stop until I got tired of that drug life. I couldn't take that "lifestyle" anymore and went to rehab.
As the question asks - why KILL your customers? I've wondered about that. They intentionally put fentanyl in the drug and it kills. You just lost 5 customers. You always want a return customer, but the stupid Cartels don't know how to keep customers.
Absolutely no problem for anyone to get drugs. Legalize or not makes no difference how many addicted bums are on the streets but might be less crime if drugs are legal.
I'm an old timer . 62 yrs. When I was younger the last thing a dealer wanted to do was to give his buyers more than he had to; but at the same time they never, ever would cut their dope with something that could harm their buyers. Baby lax, stuff like that, which has got to be cheaper than what fent is: so my point is that there is something going on more than just dealers deciding to kill off their clientele. - even if dealers are handing the fent, why would they not cut it like they have every other drug ever: down to the point where it satisfies but never to the point they are not wanting to come back for more. The whole thing wreaks.
@@AtSafeDistance The precursor drugs coming from China are being bought by the ton, so they're getting very good prices. Many of the labs making this crap have no clue what they're doing, so you're getting wildly different levels of Fent in all sorts of different drugs. Pills, meth, coke, heroin. Many of the deaths are a combo of those addicted and homeless and a lot of kids experimenting and getting a huge dose in a tiny pill.
This DEA spokesperson admitted that they are the problem. The teenage girl that twisted her ankle and is in pain has to turn to street drugs because getting them through legitimate means is too difficult. Why should a person who’s not addicted and experiencing pain from an injury be barred from having proper pain treatment?
That story about a sports injury is so bogus. You can get Tylenol and if that fails, you should go to the hospital. Any pill that’s not coming from Walgreens or the hospital is coming from a cartel and that’s no mystery. You want to play around with cartel products is your business at this point because everyone knows what they’re getting. Why are you a victim is you’re down for taking that risk?
Harsh truth. If you go to the Dr. and you're in pain 9 times out of 10 they tell you to take Tylenol or aspirin because of the ultra strict FDA regulations! Dr's are extremely reluctant to write prescriptions for pain medication!
Man I do not commonly jive with law-enforcement, but this man seems to be taking a very thoughtful and nuanced approach to how he’s handling it. Also, pleased he focused on the correct part of the problem for him, which is the traffickers. I also appreciated that he didn’t dip his toe in where he did not have an informed opinion.
Really sorry for your loss. I can’t understand how he had no idea if he didn’t get pills from a pharmacy or a hospital. There’s millions of cartel pills out there and you’re rolling the dice if you’re taking something from any unknown source. How come he had no idea? You have to have an idea.
@@timsmusic7349 that's a billion % addict behavior. No sane person would just take something from an unknown source. I've known drunks that got dosed this way. Luckily not killed
@@windsofmarchjourneyperrytr2823 Dang, I’m completely confused. Had someone say also about a girl athlete taking a pill after getting an injury from an unknown source. The excuses are mind boggling. Having no idea when there’s a zero % chance that it’s not from a cartel is insane behavior especially with the amount of deaths. Hate to say it but there’s a lot of people are going to die because they have to get that street pill and it’s not a surprise anymore. Just so sad for their families but this ain’t pot anymore.
I wonder if he feels lucky that his self-harming addiction isn't classified as a federal crime and that he isn't forced to seek potentially adulterated substances on the black market in order to fulfill his cravings and instead can make his own choices about what he wants to consume, no matter how damaging to his long term health, in an open and legal market where the likelihood of contamination let alone adulteration is such a vanishingly small risk that no one even thinks of it when making their purchases at a grocery store. Meanwhile the agency he works for likes dictating to patients how many pills of which substances and at what dosage the DEA arbitrarily believes is right for the patient for their ADHD, anxiety, depression, pain, and other disorders. They don't even care what doctors think, putting hard limits on the amount of doses of medications that can be produced based purely on their OWN idealistic idea of how much the DEA believes is "appropriate". That's why chronic pain patients are treated like drug addicts, those with ADHD are treated like potential drug dealers, Adderall is constantly having shortages, and we still have a very limited number of medications and treatments for serious life-affecting disorders that affect tens-to-hundreds of millions of Americans in their lives such as depression and anxiety.
@JamesEmerson-th9hc JAMES, EVEN IF CHINA WOULD NOT HAVE CREATED THE INGREDIENT, SOME OTHER COUNTRY WOULD, AS LONG AS THE DEMAND EXIST. IF THE HIGH DEMAND EXISTS, SOME COUNTRY WILL CREATE THE INGREDIENTS TO CREATE FENTANYL.
“By the time the day is over, 5 people would have died of fentanyl abuse”. And 10 new people will start using fentanyl for the first time. The drug cartel will never run out of customers.
My best friend who owned a company and was going to Hawaii the next day for vacation after his son had left for camp and died of an accidental fentynal overdose from doing cocaine. I am still unable to get over this. It's in all of the drugs now, even weed.
Not all people who need medication is a drug addict. If doctors would do their job and administer pain medication properly, then people wouldn't have to turn to the streets to get relief.
Wow...I thought the same! Since he has a very public job representing the DEA he needs to drop weight asap! Why preach about the dangers of drugs when you are putting your health in jeopardy by being obese???
It is the same thing as with alcohol. Because so many are addicted to it they refuse to even talk about it while at the same time being hypocrites because if truth were told, SUGAR, kills more people than all the other stuff combined. Consider you can't make alcohol without lots of sugar, and then the damage done to health for people like the DEA guy ... its far bigger damage than any drug ever thought about being.
@@williammencia5857It's much harder to cure than drugs. You still have to eat. Much of it is highly addictive: fat, salt, sugar. We love it. It's also designed to be addictive. On purpose. It's how you can eat a bag of chips and never feel full.
The government needs to get out of the drs offices. Elderly people are turning to the streets because their doctors are afraid to prescribe. It's ridiculous. First in 2006 the government over stepped and made pain the 6th vital sign with guidelines the doctors had to adhere to, even if their observations showed the patient was lying. I know i went to those trainings telling us no matter what, we weren't to judge at all. The intent was well meant so cancer, true pain patients and surgical patients were adequately treated. The addicts figured that out fast and demanded pain meds. Cant lie on the document when the patient says 10/10 as they chat on their phones laughing and heading outside to smoke.. even after explaining that pain level should have them crying in bed.. well no way around that.. so NOW, the gubbermint decided to reverse it wayyyyy too far. Leave the drs alone. If there is a weird excess THEN look. But the cheerleader could have gotten a legitimate prescription... but patients dont want to be tagged as "drug seeking" when they NEED a temporary help, or when permanent.. and drs irritated by HAVING to prescribe in the past are both a bit relieved and vengeful as well as afraid to prescribe. They dont want to be dragged into court or lose their license so the legitimate public suffers. Again.
Glad to see this decades long issue is being talked about finally in the media. I have been sounding the alarm for years and censored by RU-vid endlessly for mentioning Mexican Cartels and Fentanyl in the same sentence.
How about you start mentioning rehabilitation and healthcare instead. This won’t stop until the demand is stopped. Yesterday it was Colombia, before that it was Iraq and even before that it was China before their revolution.
If the government wasn’t participating in it 👉it wouldn’t even be an issue👉The govt w the help of the cartels just brought millions of migrants into this country who will be working for the United States of Corporations for minimal wages & need for healthcare while consecutively, killing off the lazy, unhealthy, drug addicted Americans draining the governmental social welfare services (SsDi, Medicare, Medicaid, Foodstamps)👉Two birds w One stone/drug
Killing their customers? More like Americans are offing themselves through drug addiction, no one is pointing guns at them and forcing them to become drug addicts. This is a quintessential case of America blaming everyone but themselves for the problems they have created.
Wrap-around services is a scam. The people advocating for it are not the ones who will be working 24/7 as therapists, counselors, maintenance, security, health techs. These homeless shelters are not day camps and it's a challenge to find people willing to work in them.
Perhaps if they paid people what they're worth they could attract people for starters. Those shelters are jokes and are allowed to be the danger that they are. There's great reason why folks feel safer on the streets than in those shelters and it's by design.
@@squarebear619I agree that the quality of outcomes is likely commensurate with the scope of investment in the providers of services. Paying someone 40k to do something that takes the education and specialization of someone who has the potential to make 150k elsewhere simply doesn’t bode well for the outcome.
do not do drugs, that saying means nothing. it takes people caring for one another and patience in order to help someone with an addiction, regardless of what that addiction is.
People keep stating that 90 to 100% of the homeless are on drugs but the data shows that it's 40%. I can understand the public being fooled by the news and politicians, but I would expect law enforcement to know the actual data. These people need to take some statistics classes and understand sampling populations! I've noticed that the more the DEA is involved the more drug problems this country experiences. I think the DEA needs to do something about the FDA and the pharmaceutical cartels.
@@jerrynadler2883 That is not what the data shows. Facts are facts. Here's a fact. The more money that is spent on homeless, the more homeless there are! This is because the contractors who are profiting know that the politicians have programmed the voters who don't read behind the headlines and don't look at facts, to dehumanize homeless with ridiculous propaganda so the public will not cry out from the corruption and bleaching of the tax dollars. P.S. - The earth is not flat.
They are on a mission, don't confuse them with silly facts. It will confuse & possibly make them think. The abusers on the street have all they need and legitimate pain patients have almost none. Problem solved in their small minds.
are you stupid or something ? That is what every one wants, in a perfect world drugs wouldn't exist or would only be used strictly for medical purposes like they were always intended to be used but we live in reality and in this reality people do abuse them and it is here to stay whether you like it or not ! I can go tell every addict on this planet ''stop consuming drugs'' but it will not make them stop using. Making drugs illegal doesn't prevent people from using them either so telling drug user to ''stop'' sure as hell wont either ! People use drugs some get addicted but the vast majority which we never hear about only ever use recreationally once in a while never becoming addicted because their brain just doesn't have the predisposition to dependency. Our society consumes alcohol to get drunk but getting drunk is basically getting high but why the hell should we outlaw alcohol just because some people go on to become alcoholics when the vast majority of those who drink alcohol to get drunk once in a while are not and never will become addicted to it ? Why punish every one for the misdeeds of a few ?
Re rehab for addicts, there was a segment on the podcast "Seattle is Dying" where they said there was a program back east where they built housing for the homeless and the addicts. It was a good program worth following up
Oregon failed because only 1 state legalizing makes them alone the place for addicts to go. They should have realized that. Al Papone prospered during prohibition to the point he was able to control the Chicago government as well.
I can answer this question as I was once a compound analogue drug dealer (fentanyl, carfentanil, sufentanil, remifentanil. etc)So, in the short term you make a killing (literally) long term the customers overdose and die but cartels and other organized crime are evil and they don't care because there are new customers every single day. Once you open that door it's very hard to close it despite what statistics say if you do manage to survive the rest of your life will be a revolving door of rehab. The crazy part is you believe you are self-employed and work for yourself but you actually work for Satan. 👹 Excuse me, I have to leave these forums now immediately!
I find this to be very important, but I wish the interviewer wasn’t as leading in some instances. I found the interviewee’s willingness to speak to what he knows and not to go beyond that by discrediting the relevance of public health or housing first initiatives to be refreshing. It’s always acceptable to just say “I don’t know, not my specialty” even if being encouraged to express an opinion that you don’t have.
they don't care, they don't like us anyway, they know there will always be customers...the way I see it, you fafo you get what you ask for. You can help someone who doesn't want help...smh
There's not killing their customers they're killing people who don't have a tolerance to opiates and mistake it for another drug like Coke. However, users who build up a tolerance and then stop and then try it again usually try the same amount they're used to doing and end up overdosing since they're tolerance has lowered.
ThIs sounds like a conversation that should of occured in Khalifornistan over 10 years ago. This is Band-aid as opposed to the required tourniquet. Too late.
Apparently, you don't realize how easy it is to walk across the border legally. The "immigrants" sneaking over the border aren't bringing fentanyl, they're coming for jobs and a better life. The cartels hire people to drive over or walk over at a legal port of entry and stopping every, person, car and truck would disrupt trade to a point of economic disaster for both countries.
@@jogmas12 The actual news story asked a question. “Why are the cartels killing their customers in Southern California?”. You flew past the entire point of the story, the question posed and this comment section and chose instead to hurl an absolutely meaningless statement out into the world. How about this? @@zulutimeproductions3143 that actually is a stupid question. Any drug taken overdose can kill. Even alcohol. 🍺. If these addicts don’t want to not be warned of overdose while taking fentanyl is that the cartels business??? You want the cartels to put overdose warnings on the drugs they sell?
The crisis isn't just about the drugs coming in, it's also about the demand. If no one was buying they wouldn't be delivering. Stopping the flow of drugs is part of it but cutting down on the demand is part of it too

Tough legalisation has caused more problems than decriminalisation and health diversion, fentanyl, car fentanyl and now nitazines and xylazine all due to tough drug laws. Decriminalisation and diversion to health services is the only way look at Portugal.
We've gotten to this point where we're not supposed to talk about how individual behavior contributes to social problems. We're supposed to only blame the government or the right or the left. #fentanyl #drugs #overdose
