Christopher Columbus started the journey to find the sea route to India but landed in America thinking it was India. LOL! People should learn to educate themselves! Later the sea route was found by Vasco da Gama. Before that, the trade used to be by land route from North West but it was closed by the Turkish empire because of a political crisis.
