Im not trying to be a jerk, here. I just want people with less experience to not spend big money on "uber gear" before they hear good suggestions. A guitar set-up by someone that's a Pro is mandatory or it will just screw with you. They can get things to stay in tune that you want to kill... that guy should be your best friend. : ) You will never get a good tone without enough practice to understand how to play things so you (and other folks, by extension) like how it sounds and be able to sustain it for very long. There's no gear cure that gets around it, just like the earth isnt flat. Billions of People believe in silly myths, what can i say? Its not my fault, just I really want guitarists to not get caught up in myths. There are two things that are scientifically proven to affect the tone that is coming out of the amp. Everything else doesn't to much of a degree, beyond subjective feelings and experiments that are not well Controlled. The first is the speakers. If they are bunk or they aren't for the style of music you want to be playing... you wont like the experience and thats not going to help you get motivated to get the Hours. Find out what speakers the guitar players you want to learn the songs by have (on that specific song) and you're most of the way. In hard rock you're probably gonna want celestions, blues you want jensens. Beyond that I dont have that much first hand experience. You can get there with modeling software easily if you start there, but some speakers just don't work for some stuff. i can tell u fender speakers are never gonna make you happy if you want to play punk and metal. If you're playing extreme metal you need those speakers. The second thing is that non completely sealed finishes vs completely sealed finishes affects it. If it's sealed, then tonewood, blah, blah, whatever... doesn't matter. Just play ELECTRIC, it's less complicated. Everyone's got digital amps out that simulate all the effects and do it for electric and acoustic. some even do bass, too. I liked my old line 6 stuff, but i love my I can't even say which brand, publically cuz there is a legit cult (meaning, they ARE worth following and we do cuz we know but a LOT of the appeal is that the prices always stayed low. lol) that has followed them since early 70s. Every time someone tries to sell something, the price just goes nuclear
You're welcome. I dont want anyone else getting caught up in cults. even though that company deserves followers. they do everything from big, metal tube amps to little blues combos and great bass amps. their new digital amps kick ass. they made better strats than fender in the 80s and 90s and tons of other good and cheap basses and guitars in the US.
Not everybody buys "budget" guitars on the premise that "I need to work everything". Not everybody can do it. Not everybody WANTS to do it. We "moders" on the other hand, LOVE to buy budget and build GREAT! When one comes that is beautiful and near perfect, that makes them an awesome deal! I always expect a basic basket case to mod, and have NEVER received a complpete basket case. Even when I buy name brands...they come apart to make them "mine".
Yeah for sure! But exactly my point... Those who want a budget guitar that they don't have to mod, are not gonna find anything stacked like this thing! Not here in Canada anyway!

@@j-man9457 David Gilmours black Strat is a Partscaster that he modded every thing on. He once said that yeah I can buy any guitar I want, but to make it mine I have to set it up to fit me. I always liked that about him. I haunted pawn shops since the 70s for bits. pots, push pulls, switches bridges even hard tail string through bodies and quartersawn necks.
I bought an IYV ipf-300 last year, and it was reduced because of a so-called blemish. I found the blemish and it rubbed right off. Only issue I had was the neck thickness, which I fixed with my shinto file and mahogany nitro from Oxford. That guitar sounds fine to me.
My IYV got returned because the wood inside the body looked light a chainsaw carved it. I got a replacement which was way better but you have to question the glue joints and construction on the rest of the guitar. I own 30 guitars so I wasn't expecting perfection but the reviews are full of crap. The Glarry Telecaster was junk. Saddles, pickup and the frets raised. The gave me a partial refund and I did the work but it's not worth the low price they sell for. The Grote 335 was nearly perfect out of the box.

Uh, how many people have any idea what an early tele actually sounds like?? I own a 68 I've had since 74 and I can watch a thousand channels on RU-vid with people telling anyone who will listen that just about any guitar made today is better than a Fender or that "some guitar" sounds just like a tele or a strat. (And that's through your TV speakers, sigh). Go figure...because IMHO it goes well beyond simple sound...the old necks were unique as were the varnish and frets. But what do I know, eh?
@@landofahhs_1 yeah man! No clue. I was born in 71 didn't start playing till 88. I've played Teles most of my life. Mostly 90s and up. I'll tell you with certainty that these Musis are every bit as good stock, as any tele that I've modded or upgraded over the years... Now when it comes to a 68, I'd say hell yeah! Would love to have one! Enjoy it and keep rockin!
@@landofahhs_1 , Totally agree. Sometimes people love the particular sound of an old guitar's electronics caused by wire rot. The wire then fails completely and is replaced with new wire and sounds different. Maybe a resistor or capacitor wired in might recreate the tone, not that I'm an expert.
@@j-man9457 There was a 60s 70sand the new player series I think is a 12 inch radius neck with the modern truss rod and 6 rattle saddles with 5 barrels instead of 3. Some don’t have strings through the body. I bet a dime it’s a 60s Vintera 2 with the thin neck. My 50s has the ball bat U neck that could have been why., I can’t play a thin neck.
True true.or found out it really does take practice to play and that theres no guitar fairy that makes you a rock star overnight. Regardless of how many teeth you put under your pillow.
That applies to any instrument. The problem is us pro's (bone player here) or even semi pro's and good amateurs make it look easy because we've put thousands of hours of hard work in. People get put off when something isn't easy.....

I’m looking at a similar issue. I want a Gretsch with a Bigsby, but even in the U.S. made ones, they don’t have the roll bar, that keeps a guitar w/Bigsby in tune. It’s another few hundred dollars, to buy and have installed. There are other things in the affordable series of Gretsch w/Bigsby Indonesian, China or Korean made line, that also need work. I ended up looking at used ones, because most who kept them, had the Bigsby fixed, got better tuners and other upgrades, and they’re sold for not much more than a new one, that may or may not need $400+ in upgrades.
Buying used from someone that knows their stuff is always a good deal and as you said, more than likely most issues have already been fixed or upgraded!
I really appreciate this video. I have never purchased an Amazon return but may try that now. I have always wanted a Tele with comfort carves and this will be my first. I watched your videos on the Musi’s with the vibrato arm. They seem very nice but the sound of this one with the single could is hard to beat. Thanks again.
Hey Thanks John? The Musis with the trem are the Virgo Fusions, more of a rock designed tele style whereas these are the Virgo Classics. A more traditional take but with modern features! I like them both hahaha!

Hey man. I can honestly say, both West Creek guitars I got from you, the 333 and the LP Junior style, both play and feel great. The M Musi plays awesome, and I keep it next to my desk all the time. It has become my "goto" guitar to grab when I want to work something out etc... the only issue I had (and you know because I popped in to your gig one night to grab a string tree from you) was the lack of break angle on the B and E strings. I used the M Musi at a country rehearsal, tuned to standard 440, and had zero issues. It sounded and played great! But that weekend, I used it at a gig, where we played everything from country to SRV, and we tune a 1/2 step down. With that reduction in string tension, it made the difference, and the fact that I am always playing open strings, the E and B strings kept popping out on me. The string tree fixed it 100%. They should have one installed on all their guitars out of the box. But for the price and the quality you get, I will gladly install my own any day. I might have to chat with you on that white Tele style... I might have to grab that one too. lol. Cheers Buddy!
They returned them because they are wannabes that bought a cheap guitar and when they attempted to play and didn't master it in the first 30 seconds and their tender fingers got sore they quit and said I can't do it. Happens all the time. They like the idea of being a musician or guitarist but they don't want to put the work in and/or have no natural abilities.
Yup it's quite possible... I run into that very same thing in my fitness classes. Everyone likes the idea of being fit, but when it comes to putting in the work, it's a different story hahaha...
Out of my 24 guitar's . I bought 10 of them from Amazon. 1 of which was returned for a exchange because of electrical problems . So even though you have a valid point . It's not the only reason 😎👍✌️

For some electrical issues or I level frets would be a deal breaker, but for me, I would fix it or address it and upgrade the electronics... But when I get a budget guitar like this one that needs nothing and is pretty much gig ready out of the box, I can't help but be 😁👍

I have two M Musi Virgo Fusions. Fantastic guitars. I saw where Amazon may not carry them anymore so I bought the second one to have. A spare should something happen. I did a quick set up and floated the bridge on one and set the other as a hard tail. Love playing them.
Recently picked up a different brand budget guitar and loved it except for toylike tuners. I decided on a $55 upgrade and have a really good unit now. Name brand tuners in gloss black, pretty sweet and very resellable.
J-MAN, good to see you again! @9:00 and on - whoa! You are sounding fabulous. I like that guitar, the headstock reminds me of if Fender and Parker had offspring. I still have my EART telecaster, it shares a lot of similar features. I replaced the repulsive green pickguard ( on a BLUE guitar) with a cream pearloid one. Probably keep it forever. Take care.

That Musi has SS frets, a compound radius neck, and a bone nut, and locking tuners. Amazon ran out of them! That headstock is cut deeper to eliminate string trees! Nice playing!

many of those budget friendly guitars in my opinion are half baked.. Many need work...or have to be reworked... those budget companies save money, because they are half baked , the companies that make them expect us to finish the job for them... meaning we gotta fiddle with them . tighten a screw here, adjust here, change this, reset this.. I noticed the same treatment with budget bikes I have to fine tune them..
Definitely. They may have positives in terms of build at times. Some people get lucky with a beautiful build and decent playability but some get bad builds and ruins it all. Shotty strings or fretwork or whatever
My guess is that the return didnt have anything to do with the actual guitar. Like they ordered a different color and got sent a white one so they returned it.
Love your reviews. I owned up to 55 basses at one time during my 50 career as a musician. I've owned many Warwicks, Fenders, G&L and Alembics and have recently started getting back into these "buget" guitars/basses. My first "Tele" was a Chinese "Karina" model and all it needed was a new nut. I still own it 25 years later and it still plays and sounds great.
Loved that segment that you started playing at the start ... seemed like it was kind of bluesy ... old 50's rock ish .... and some mix of honky tonk ALL mixed in . Then you caught my attention again with the music of the boy from B.C. Now that sounded just like B himself .
I bought a Musi tele for my daughters 15th bday. I looked good but lots of real quality issues that woulda cost money to fix. Hated to return a gift but we had no choice, unplayable. Guessing they don't resale all returns.
Wow really? I have yet to see a bad one... But that would warrant a return for sure I mean an unplayable guitar? That's a return for sure! But this one is totally playable like awesome playable... Can't figure what you'd buy for the same coin that would come close to this particular one???
I bought a Firefly that was called out for having microphonic pickups. I got it fully expecting to swap the pickups. But they weren't putting microphonic pickups anymore. $225 for a beautiful Les Paul copy in perfect condition. No work necessary. I paid more for the case to protect it than for the guitar.
Amazon Customers did return these Guitars because this J-MAN is such a Great Guitarist that convinced them that they should Quit and Retire from ever attempting to become a Guitar like Him!
My FFLP needed fretwork. Some were popping out. Now, it plays fantastic. The tones are amazing. I run it through three early '70s Ampeg V series amps. Golden tones, unmatched.
Loved your video!! I've been mind blown by a few very inexpensive guitars, but have never found any that were so well set up right out of the box!! My guess is that someone cares more about what the headstock says than how well the guitar works?? BTW, I AM an electric guitar maker and professional (55 years now) guitarist! I play my own guitars, but would be plenty happy with that guitar!

I sold my USA made Telly years ago and this makes me think it wouldn’t hurt at all even to get a cheap one and do minor repairs, fretwork, etc., if needed.
Maybe, just maybe, they didn't bond with the guitar. It just didn't "speak" to them. That's not to say the guitar isn't technically fine. It just left the previous owner wanting for something else.
I took a chance on one Westcreek guitar. It was awful. I got rid of it, and for next to nothing. And that was after spending a couple hours trying to set it up, and dialing it in. I finally got it to where it would (basically) play. And that's about it. It was terrible. And I am a budget-guitar lover. Bought bunches of them in general, and bunches of them off of The Zon. And I've been pretty lucky. But every once in a while, you're going to strike out if you play the game. I don't buy the M Musi Guitars. But it looks like they are a big step up from some of the others. But you also pay more for them. So they should be pretty good. My 2 cents.
100% buddy... They are more money and yes they are a quite the step up as far as hardware electronics and features go.... Surprised with your Westcreek experience. I have played, set up and reviewed, every model they make and multiples of each models... Yes some require more set up work than others but all of them have been super easy to dial in with superb fit and finish. You obviously received one slapped together at quitting time on a Friday hahaha!
That Tele sounds amazing; I see no reason for returning it either but hey, the next person usually benefits second-hand more so than previous 'returner'!
I bought their "333" in Pebble blue ( a Gibson 335 inPelham Blue knock off). It looks a lot like the Dave Grohl model, but imho, it's better looking (it even has F holes instead of that weird diamond thingy). Out of the box the neck was seriously back bowed, but everything else was great. A simple adjustment of the truss rod with the (included) hex key, and I was good to go. Disclaimer: I'm no expert, so my "good to go" might be dog poop to someone that knows anything about guitars, but at any rate, I have NO regrets about spending 200 bucks for it.
@@LuckyFlesh nice man! I bought the same one a while back... The Blue 333 and yes it rocks! Everyone sets them up differently to suit their playing style. That's why every and any guitar you buy, brand name or budget, will require some kind of set-up 😉
Mine is a beautiful vintage blue. Though I bought mine new, my experience was similar to yours. I was especially impressed with the comfort carves. Also the vintage looking rope wrap around the bridge pickup. Very cool. The neck roast on mine is a bit darker than yours. The SS frets are perfect. Reasons why someone might return a beautiful guitar like this? 1- Thought the guitar could teach them how to play. 2- A "friend" sold them on the idea of a Fender. 3- The model name. I'm cool with Virgo (that's my horoscope sign). Virgo's symbol is the Virgin. Maybe this dude thought his pals in his band would tease him. Or worse, introduce him as "ladies and gentlemen, on guitar the virgin of the group..."😂

Id been practicing on acoustic for about a year and when i played on a freind epiphone through and nice old peavey bandit, i was blown away. It made me want to continue playing. Ive now ordered an 1960 epiphone les paul standard. Its on its way. Ive ordered a little fender lt25 too. Cant wait.
I bought the MUSI, and OH yeah I had to put in string trees, and I replaced the tremelo and it played so nice. The pickups (DH model) were outstanding. One thing I didn't care for was the the thin pattern neck. Bottom line for what they cost, you still need to have basic setup skills.
Cool man! Yeah for sure... No offense intended, but even Fenders need to be set up and most need fret work to be perfect. These are no different.... Besides, they are not built with you or I in mind hahaha
I bought a returned one from Amazon that was DOA with no sound coming out. Those are easy fix. I got another return that I could not find anything wrong with it. And the last one there was a buzz on one fret. The fret needs to be dealt with, but the action was too low, so I raised it a bit, although i do like it low. All these guitars had brand new nice strings on them as people do this first.

Hi J-man, I just received a Westcreek Racer with a set-neck from Amz. I lowered the action from the initial 3.5 mm to 2 mm, and now strings 1 and 2 choke out during the smallest of bends on the higher frets. It's going to need fret work to make it playable to my needs, and I don't like the gtar enough to do that, so it's going back. What condition did Amz say the gtars you bought were in, good, acceptable, fair? Seems like that musi is in great condition. It's hit or miss with Amz. Oftentimes I receive a gtar that Amz sells as new, but I can tell it's not.
Hmmm I reviewed a racer a while back and it was great but it did need a truss rod adjustment and a few frets leveled before lowering the action. Yeah yours could have been frets that were not pressed on right or just high frets... That is a reason for a return. I thought for sure I would find an issue similar with this one and the plan was to try and fix it during the video, but there was absolutely nothing wrong with this one so it sort of back fired hahaha... It didn't state the condition. Just said used like new, but like you said, you just never know with Amazon hahaha
I bought an Amazon return Fender Precision bass. It was returned because the bridge was offset by 1/4" and it put the E string right on the fret edge of the neck. The neck was mounted straight to the body but the offset of the bridge made the bass unplayable. When you pressed the E string half way up the neck, the string would slide off. So it is not unique to low cost guitars.
That is some fine Tele-Pickin’ there! I haven’t heard of Muse brand before (I’m aware of West Creek however)… and if their Tele’s look and sound like that, I’m getting one lol 👍🏻
I would say pickups......hardware is sometimes pretty sketchy.... :p For a string T, I use the Reverend 3 string , on these type guitars, or 2 Fender style Ts....yeah, let's hear it for a bit...most returned instruments are gifts or the owner is not in guitar class...it sounds pretty good but I would probably swap pickups....:D
Yeah I hear ya... But keep in mind my playing is just fair, and I using a small transistor amp and a 10 inch speaker. These pups through DR-Z would sound killer I'm sure! 😄
How do you find used stuff on Amazon? Do you search on the Amazon warehouse or do you just look at the bottom of the normal listings to see if it says there’s any used ones? Very curious. I love getting used stuff for this exact reason
It's just the luck of the draw... When you are looking at an item, under the price sometimes you'll see "save with used like new" well in Canada anyways, may be a different layout for US or other countries... Anyway if that option is there click on it and you'll get an option for an open box / returned item like the one you are looking at. But fair warning, the condition may or may not be like new. Amazon's descriptions leave much to be desired lol...
@@j-man9457 gotcha. Yeah I’ve seen those and yeah I’m sure it’s hit or miss. I saw one yesterday where it said it had ‘significant visual imperfections” so I steered clear of that one. But yeah I’m sure there’s a lot of cool used stuff there hiding, waiting for someone to snag it
I just click on a listing and if you look below the price, sometimes you see “save with used like new" if you click on that, you have the option of selecting used return instead of new... But I just lucked out as the Amazon description for used like new can vary greatly hahaha!

That first guitar the Musi Virgo looks gorgeous out of the box, the cheap alnico 5 neck pickup is excellent as is the Wilkinson bridge perfect guitar made to perfection by Cort, how much was it ? $600?
The neck looks to be a little small for the pocket on the body (gapped). An American Pro Fender Tele is ~$2400 CAD (just bought one last week). I've had a Austin brand S.Korea made Tele for a long while and it was pretty great for the $200 I paid for it but it certainly does not feel or sound like the Fender tele. I could easily gig with my Austin (and a lot of guys that played it at jam sessions said it's awesome), but still, my US Tele is waaaay better in every way. I'm not the type of musician to buy instruments online to have them shipped without having my hands on it first. So I always buy locally after I've played it personally myself. It is cool to see at least something great for beginners to get for the price!

Thanks Mr.T! I have the blonde , the black and now the white and all 3 have been extremely consistent as far as QC and fit and finish! I put in a set of custom wound pups similar to the Labria set from SD Brad Paisley... The were half the price of the guitar hahaha... I'll say this, these stock pickups are right there along with this custom set. The stock pickups are extremely responsive to different amps and amp settings... I haven't changed them in my others as I don't really know what would be much better🤔👍
You cant shop a neck profile online. Ive returned or sold off 4 since 2020 bc i ordered then didnt like the neck shape when i got it.only 2 i kept were an Epi LP 60s which i knew the neck would be fat but its ok bc thats a Les Paul. And then an Aria Pro2 Jet1 w the most wonderful med C strat neck w med frets Ive played for the price.
Yup totally get ya... However in the spec list for these it does say slim C shape with 9.5 to 12 radius so for anyone reading up before they buy, they should have a pretty good idea of what it's gonna be like no?🤔

Btw I bought a superblock us and have a p10r on the way lol thanks for all u do also picked up a sterling cutlass plus great guitar but wanted to put a rail tail trem in it but it’s to thin for that unfortunately but the trem it has is good 😊
Hey cool man... Nice gear for sure. I have all of the Music models. The Capricorn Classic Strat is super nice, comes with a huge Brass block on the trem! The Capricorn fusion Strats are killer. Very comfortable to play and perfectly balanced!
I returned my Mmusi. It was a nice guitar but for $349 it had a lot of issues that were more consistent with a guitar half the price. My Mmusi needed string trees, ( strings kept popping out of the nut ) and the nut was cut way too shallow. Additionally, if you look down the neck length wise on the side where the small fret dots are you will see the fret ends don’t line up at all. It does not affect the playability but it really bothered me. I suspect since the frets are stainless they finish and crown the ends off the guitar then install them. Another thing was the locking tuner bound up on two string and felt like they were bent.

I like the looks of that guitar, including the headstock. I'm not a fan of white guitars, but it looks ok on that one. How much would they have paid for that guitar only to return it later?
The 3rd string on my Dean acoustic sounds like a Sitar from fret 2 to about 8 unless plucked lightly...and it changes sometimes by the hour and sometimes goes away. I think it may be a loose brace. I was a singing drummer and a car accident damaged nerves in my arms and neck so I switched at age 35 in 2000 to be able to keep singing so I know nothing about guitars and I can only play well enough to back up my voice, so. I kept the guitar. I have no car and no place to take it to get this corrected. I ordered it.
Ahhh man sorry to hear this. I admire your courage to keep persuing music🤘😀 Not sure what the issue would be without looking at it. If the string is buzzing on those frets, the neck might simply be back bowed. Easily corrected by turning the truss rod counter clockwise. Or maybe that one string sits too low in the nut. 🤔 I don't think it's a bad brace as if so, you'd have more than one string affected...
If those have the same ''rounded stainless steel frets'' and installed/leveled the same way as my Eart GW2 headless guitar, he probably returned it because the frets are wayyyyy too low profile. They level them with some sort of Plek machine, and they remove WAYYYY too much material. At least on mine, it's ridiculous and I regret not returning it. They look like they have been re-leveled 2-3 times already, straight from factory. The only reason why I don't use this guitar is because of that. Finger friction on the fretboard is a BIG issue with my guitar (especially for lead playing). Other than that, the guitar is PERFECT. Not talking about ''low action''... but ''low profile''. The action may be set SUPER low and it's totally fine, as long as the frets themselves are high enough to prevent finger friction. HARLEY BENTON Pro Series is my personnal choice for an affordable guitar, if you can find one used in Canada (like I did), or if you're willing to pay the duties.. they are still worth it even after that.
@@j-man9457 Ah good to know that it may be just mine that has been overdone for some reason.. 🤷🏻♂️ Just to be clear, i was talking about "finger" friction on the fretboard, and not "string" friction or the fret. They are super glassy smooth on my Eart as well.. but they are flatten on top and way too low. Glad yours has plenty of meat! I should have returned mine.. 🤦🏻♂️
@@davidmultimedia2024 yeah I know what you meant... That sucks. Definitely sounds like they over leveled for sure... I had an EART NK-C1 tele a while back and the frets were not flat by any means, however I did need to do a fret level on it as there were quite a few high spots!
When I bought it it said used like new below the listing, plus the old shipping label and the name of the original buyer was still on the box hahaha ....

Thanks man... It's not easy, it's just timing... When you click on a thumbnail of a guitar then the ad and info open up, sometimes if you're lucky you'll see written below the price listing something like “save with used like new“ and if you click on that link, it will give you an option to buy an open box/returned model. But those are not always in the inventory....
I can't get firefly here so I can't comment, but from what I've seen on videos, it would seem that Musis have better electronics but the bones are probably similar🤔
It's is always a pleasure to hear someone that can play. Maybe they used it for a gig and returned it. I know people who bought cameras filmed a wedding and returned it on the Monday. The same with clothes. Some people are just plain dishonest.
When looking for my first electric, I think I noodled on 13 different entry level strats at GC on 3 or 4 visits - and I hated the neck shape on all of them. (For bass, I prefer wide and flat - so old Peaveys and Yamahas.) So, it could be as simple as that. Dunno.
Yup when the guitar itself has no major quality control issues or 0 playability issues, then yeah the reasons for a return are impossible to determine...🤔
It's possible that these folks had the bad luck of getting one with the occasional defect. I went through 3 Westcreek Double Trouble guitars (their 12/6 string double neckers), and kept the one that I really enjoy playing. The other 2 had blatant issues for which I returned them. To be fair to Westcreek, this was from their first run of this model, and it was quite ballsy of them to even attempt building such a complex design; probably they had to work out any initial manufacturing kinks.
Interesting... Yeah I totally get that some guitars are returns... For sure... But I have bought many returned Amazon Musis and Westcreeks and could not figure out why people would return them... Maybe they just want to try them out? Who knows?! Haha
@@j-man9457 That would make sense since Amazon's model is "buy before trying, then return within 30 days for any reason" - inverted from the traditional music store model of "try then buy"; harder to return in person. That's gotta be some great discounts for you!

I was born is northern New England, lived in Canada for over eleven years from the early-mid 1970's to mid 1984, after I came back from Vietnam, the last time in 1970, am now in the mid-west US. My mother was born & raised in Cape Breton, my dad was born in Scotland and raised in Cape Breton also. I've been to all ten Provinces, plus the NWT, up as far as Yellowknife. Yeah, I agree with you about PEI... always liked it there, and Cape Breton as well.... love the music there in Cape Breton, especially around the Belle Cote, Gran-Etang area.. seems like anytime there were more than 2 or 3 people gathered at someones house... the fiddle's, guitars, accordions, piano's and spoons were making music!! Lots of fun and great memories from years ago back there.

I returned an Epi 339 w/P90's once, because I thought it sounded horrible, and i just did not like it. I also returned a Gibson Melody Maker reissue when they first came out. It had this white chalky substance in the hideous looking fret board that was a reddish brown, nothing like the example pictured from that grand daddy of all guitar stores. Was not actual picture. Any others I returned had either a crack somewhere, or a twisted neck, one even had the neck completely separated from the body. One had a crack visible under the cherry red finish, only visible in sunlight. And then, you have shipping damage. You think this is a long rant.

These are currently out of stock, but here in Canada they were 485 CAD on Amazon. I got it through the "buy used like new" option and got it for $300 to my door! 😀

It's just the luck of the draw... When you are looking at an item, under the price sometimes you'll see "save with used like new" well in Canada anyways, may be a different layout for US or other countries... Anyway if that option is there click on it and you'll get an option for an open box / returned item like the one you are looking at. But fair warning, the condition may or may not be like new. Amazon's descriptions leave much to be desired lol...
Haven't watched your video(s) on this yet, but my theory is that most budget guitar players are afraid of their truss rods. I base this on the fact that I was one of them. I never even got to the point of noticing the frets weren't level; if the strings were resting on the fretboard out of the box (or a mile above it), back it went. Intriguing concept for a series, though - truly what makes YT special.
Nice pickin' slim. Those sound really good. I have several of these Amazon "budget" guitars. I love them. Only other snobby guitar players would know what the "legacy" (Fender/Gibson) brands are anyway. I have a bass that doesn't even have the name on the head stock and it plays and sounds great. $138 to my door.
Great video and great playing! Be careful of those trademark strikes playing more than a few measures of famous songs (especially if its a song written by Don Henley or so I’ve heard lol).
I know why they returned it. They couldn't play it the way you can. They then settled for the $89 Aamoon that sounded just as good to them. When you go out and get a good guitar and you are just learning to play the $89 guitar just makes more sense. I personally can't play worth a dam so maybe they are in my shoes and not yours. Anyway, you continue to amae me with your talent. Watching your fret hand bounce all over the neck is astounding to me. Love your vids!
Hahaha well thanks Rainer! Very kind of you to say. But really learning on a budget guitar is fine but a poorly set up one makes the learning process longer because you are always compensating... Budget wise, I understand your point....🤔
It used to be my sister's. She's now 63 and it's alot older than that... So I'd say early 60s. Never looked to see if it was stamped anywhere... It's purely ornamental. It never gets played! 😔
Man, that is one sweet little axe! I knew when I tuned in that my GAS would get triggered. It's not rocket surgery to make these things sound great and you sir, absolutely prove that. There's nothing mysterious (or expensive) about pickups manufacturing or China having the highest tech CNC and other tools to make the whole thing. 🙌
