I miss when Roblox games actually had interesting and unique ideas to them. All the old games felt like passion-filled Indie games made by people who just wanted to bring their ideas to life, instead of big corporate games that trick you into gambling and wasting hours of your life for a goal that could not be acheived.

Games I play that I recommend to play! :) The Experiment [V7.3] Horrific Housing Zombie Attack Super Doomspire Bear Alpha Zach's Service Station (Or Gas Station Simulator) Write A Letter All of these games are my favorites that I still play today, and most of these games are not toxic, and are still updated today! (I don't know about Bear Alpha) They're all extremely unpopular. The Experiment is a horror waiting game, where you are a Delta Experiment that is trying to escape and figure out the lab around you. (This is my favorite! :D) Horrific Housing is a survival game to play with friends, where you survive on your house and try and kill the others to survive. Zombie Attack is were you fight off hoards of zombies and get the gun that works for you best. Super Doomspire is an upgraded and more fun version of Doomspire Brick battle. Bear Alpha is a survival game where you hide from the bear that tries to catch you. (It also has lore) Zach's Service Station is a simulator game that you can play with up to 12 friends where you build your ever growing gas station, and upgrade yourself to work better. Write a Letter is a hangout game that has little hiding spots, a library, a cabin, a house, an abandoned gas station and a hidden underground ice wonderland. *Enjoy these games as much as you can! All of these games deserve recognition!*

The real problem is the platform for sure. There are still great games out there ready to be found. But the sense of simplicity, innocence and community that made Roblox a jolly time is lost.

I totally agree with you, roblox has changed. The majority experiences in Roblox is just simulators and cashgrabs that isnt mentally good for underage users. I rarely find games with good pvp mechanics like Black Magic II because my recommendation would get bombarded with repetitive grinding pet autoclicking monstrosity. I would always get up, play ABD with the homies, killing toxic spanish users with the rainbow drip using NTWAU. Now basically every one of my friends are either gone or autoclicking on some random game. Roblox just aint fun no more, I'm still playing roblox just because i cant find any multiplayer games that is suitable for my laptop (shit laptop btw). So basically, i cant play valorant, apex or etc. Nowadays i just play with my classmates on roblox horror games or bully children on PVP games. Also siomai, your commentary and editing is amazing, sadly there's barely any views coming into the video at the moment. I wish you good luck on your college and RU-vid channel.

No matter if you're OG, or a new player, you need to know this before you play any roblox game. They're all just cash grabs, like simulator games or Adopt Me that really have no actual effort come into them while games such as Hours or BMII are overlooked and underappreciated. I love how you want to spread this idealogy and make sure everyone knows this. Missed this content of yours! (Also editting is amazing!)

I agree with you 100%, its so sad to see that the games on roblox are not an "experience" anymore, they're just cashgrabbers, aspiring game developers are probably ages 7-14 (but this is from what i've observed) and say "hey, that looks cool, let me try making something similar" but of course, they are overtaken by other games, those fun and entertaining, simple games that are made with passion are just set aside with barely and players, and those shitty simulator games are just generating more revenue from children who probably begged for robux from their parents, i mean don't get me wrong, most simulator games are fun, but would you really spend money to enjoy the "experience", wasting things like that is just plain dumb, but of course, they're kids, they wouldn't know, but how can i blame them, when i was one of them. I remember toxic players only being like 1 in 5000 servers it used to be very enjoyable... roblox keeps ruining the platform by trying to make it for older and younger audiences, and we no longer have the freedom of speech we used to. cashgrabs are much more common now, being the only games people play nowadays also i was very suprised to be BM2 in that list, i tried to get a lot of youtubers to play it but never actually got them to play it. I remember the good days when Meepcity and Bloxburg where the height in player count. I would come from school and see these games and start playing and some games such Advanced Warfare Tycoon!, Military Warfare Tycoon, Call of Roblox, Themepark Tycoon 2, Retail Tycoon, Lumber Tycoon, Roleplay World, Survive a Natural Disaster, Would you Rather 1/2, etc were the height of Roblox nobody was toxic everybody was nice it was super active I remember the day I would wake up go to school come back and play roblox I would be ectsatic when I could come back and play now I feel sad that barely anybody and plays now it's just full of OD's, Slenders, Emos, scammers, etc so much hate and toxicity and cash grabs. Now those games I used to play are so low in player count as before. The game with the most low player count than I remember is AWT!, MWT, RT, COR, LT, RW, and WR 1/2. I remember feeling just genuinely burnt out off of roblox because of how dry the games got, repetitive, addictive, built to develop a habit, all that stuff And then i turned to arcane odyssey, sure it's an MMORPG so it's grindy, but even then it felt like a genuine experience replaying it after several months of taking a break, the combat could be considered as janky sure but it grows on you, and i feel that's something a lot of roblox games are missing now, something new that could grow on a number of people

Personally, I agree with you on roblox's status. The majority of games rely on cash grabs and addicting younger children into playing non stop, and the better less grindy ones that don't get thousands of robux worth of ads get overshadowed and usually abandoned. As one of the younger people who plays this game, I can totally say that there are many things that will cause lasting issues with our young minds, either that being pedos, addicting games with bad communities, or just straight up bad games. Personally, Its hard to find roblox enjoyable now, because all I can do is play one or 2 decent roleplay games (which still arent that great) or play some pvp games and grind. I've even gotten into scripting myself, as it seems enjoyable and a good way to enjoy roblox nowadays. I hope roblox gets better, but the future seems grim unless some major changes happen in the community. People like you make my day better siomai, good luck with college.

Wish I could’ve seen this video earlier. that being said I’m glad I’ve known friends back then including you have realised the new Roblox algorithm to which many are exploited by that grind aspect and many wishing the old community and the old Roblox we know. Back then Roblox was ideal of “Powering Imagination” the community was chill, actual genuine fun games were made, Roblox ACTUALLY cared for their community. I myself ran into TheGuestToBlame on pvp games such as project sumbus accudo and critical strike, that guy as a developer deserved more love towards others, his nicer nature should be cherished like other developers rather be pressured by their own community. So glad you have the same viewpoint and experience I do Siomai, it was worth subscribing to you during the abd days.

For anyone that want's a grindy game but it's also fun try Evolve, its like a Spore like game where you can your own little creature and fight player and make friends, it will also make you captivated but not in such a bad way. Hope that helps anyone finding a game (:

Finding good games is like nearly impossible nowadays which cause to play less and less to the point I might as well quit Roblox because of it, the only games I actively play nowadays is either the old classic games people’s stop playing. One game I could recommend y’all to try at least once is neonKnights (which is the same devs who made a Boost vector) The game not perfect but its one of those that the developers put there time into making it and it’s pretty fun for me in my opinion

You know at this point i can’t even blame or get mad at the developers of these roblox games I used to play. They made there game to be fun and addictive as possible to get you hooked on it. I remember when my friend found hours and told me how we should try it until we realized it was a singleplayer game, so we just left it behind and decided to go play something else. A few days later I remembered about it and decided to try it. It was probably the most fun I've had on roblox since I first joined the platform

I used to play a game called flood escape 2 back in 2018, it was my most played game back then and I would constantly play it 24/7. I miss those days when I have to work together with other players to procced to the next part in the level which encourages players to have a sense of teamwork, because of that I made alot of friends from that game it. Damn I really REALLY miss those days...

I stopped playing Roblox in 2020 after playing it since 2012. I now, got back to it, I play it sometimes with friends, and it's really not the same. No fun at all. Where are the events? There is so much stuff I don't see anymore. Nothing to do now. It's really sad.

As a 2016 roblox veteran I myself think roblox is just boring now. Literally the only games you can see on the website is only some simulators or pay-to-win games and the cooler games you have to find them. Truly disappointing

The montage close to the end of the video really gave me an unexplainable feeling of nostalgia, I grew up with ROBLOX, and now any game just seems either too grindy, or too toxic. At the start of it, I saw possibility, and now, I see a loss of hope. Whenever I watched this video, at the start I was ignorant, but you brought up a lot of good points and this opinion has now grown onto me as truth, most of the ROBLOX games now are just blatant cash grabs, or too bland. After watching this video, I realized how much this platform has inspired me to try new things, now it's just a reason for me to yell. I mainly only play games which involve combat, like Jojo's games. I've long quit Your Bizarre Adventure, and A Universal Time got too boring for me to play. i agree with every single point made in this video. i remember going onto roblox almost every day and playing abd, where i actually had fun and enjoyed myself. now literally almost every game on the front page is just a cashgrab and isnt fun at all to play. roblox is still almost the only platform i even play anything on, but all I really do is just play horror games or join whatever my friends are doing. roblox is still fun, although sometimes it can take actual hours just to find a fun game to play. the entire games page is just simulators or cash grabs where you repeat the same thing over and over again. not to mention the players too. roblox used to be an actual fun community and was mostly peaceful, now most of the community is extremely toxic and its really hard to find anyone thats nice or a good sport in games. the only game ive even played throughout the past year without quitting is the mimic, which despite being a literal horror game is still my favorite game on the entire platform currently because of how money hungry all the other developers are. i wish the entire platform could just go back to how it was like 1 and a half years ago, back to when there was actually more fun games than pay to win cashgrabs made by some developer who barely even puts effort into their game.

Roleplay games are peak Roblox IMO. Titles like After the Flash, Legends of Aether, Blastaway Newmex, SBRP, and even some undertale ones if you go to the right servers, are amazing and fun.

It's really sad how roblox nowadays is lable as yet another cash grabbing game(platform),compare as back then. It really hits the spot when you said "It's about the experience“, I discovered roblox when I was in G5-6 and me, my younger sibling and my cousin used to play roblox alot and have fun, getting lost in maze in Lumber tycoon 2, escaping prison in prison life, and finding your target in assassin, Trying out new elements in elemental battle grounds. It was such a fun and wonderful experience as a child.

I loved boost vector, and I went back to it a while back. Most of the music got copyrighted and it kind of killed the experience until I listened to the proper music while playing it. There still are good games

Word Bomb and Find the Chomiks were games I still play to this day, neither of them get much attention but I personally enjoy the logic and puzzling aspects of the games, and would suggest checking them out!

idek, i do a lot of development stuff and I mean a lot of it. I'm pretty good at scripting, learned modeling, building animating (in multiple ways), etc. Working on the game for over 1.5 years, but wake up always questioning myself; "am I wasting time?" Cuz I work daily 2-7 hours a day (depends on the mood and the motivation) as a solo dev. The game is very detailed, the mechanics are sick, the map is beautiful, but is it worth the effort? Cuz what I'm seeking for is actually seeing it grow. Not to mention that assets CAN get stolen by some individuals, whichs very frustrating, cuz DMCA barely works, judging from other people's experience.

as a person who was formerly #3 on the kill leaderboards for combat warriors i cant imagine where id be today without it, i made so many good friends and met so many amazing people on that game and it made me a more social person in general so i cant be more grateful for it.

I honestly know how you feel about your videos. I can put effort into editing something but when I completely put no effort into something my video gets 1k views. Yet my animation that I worked hard on gets 15 views. Hopefully maybe in the future when I make my animations longer I get more views

Fun fact, I actually started playing Roblox in 2016, some weeks after the Tix removal. The old games were great as hell, however now there are constant cash grab games. One of the cash grab game creators is called "vintagetoysandmore". I saw him once in a Roblox game and checked his profile to see how he's so rich! He always lied and profitted off trends, exc. Turning Red, Huggy Wuggy, etc. He also claimed that he made UNCOPYLOCKED games. He also lied. jesus christ..

Tbh, Roblox as a game engine has massively improved with it's many new features but the frontpage and popular games section have evolved backwards. We need the passion of old Roblox with the technology of modern Roblox and you'd have a platform that could compete with indie Unity and Unreal Engine games in terms of quality.

here are a few of my favorites, just so people can try these out :) COOL ZONE - Gmod, but with alot of new things to try out. You can make cool scenes, test out random fun items, play with PVP, and just have fun overall. Project Remix - Free-For-All fight for a TV show ran by two fun little guys. Wavedash - a WIP celeste-like 2.5D platformer about you climbing.. for whatever reason. Has a dash ability that can extend into some extreme chains! Combat Initiation - Ultrakill-style multiplayer wave shooter. Has a Classic Roblox vibe and works very well, with weapons varying from a sword to a rocket launcher with balanced but fun mechanics! Parkour Reborn (350 RBX) - The only pay-to-play on this list, but definitely worth the 350. Smooth gameplay, has a helpful learning curve that isnt steep and a world that is packed full of neat spots and secrets, or perfect areas for tricks. Hope you have fun with these neat little games!

I only play combat warriors now but it’s so hard to find the energy to get on because i know i’m gonna get mad every time i play. Same goes for every single game I have on my computer so I barely play video games anymore.

Zeppelin wars is by far my favorite game. It was a reimagined version of an older Roblox game from the late 2000s. There are two teams, Patrol, and Pirates. Each team has the exact same zeppelin and planes, no pay to win game passes. From like 2020 - 2023 it had 1k active player average. But now it’s been overshadowed by Airship assault. With many micro transactions along the way. I can’t even figure out how to move the plane off the runway in that game. Now Zeppelin Wars has a 80 - 120 active player average. Still a wide variety of players who play today. The OGs: people who playing game since it’s pre alpha stage. The intermediates: people who had been playing the game for a few months and already love it. And of course, The newcomers: people who aren’t looking for a game, people who are looking for an experience.

Tbh i spend way more time in old broken 2010-2017 roblox games than the new scammy ass simulators. Can we normalize making simple enjoyable games like bake a cake, dont blink, stop it slender, survive the disasters, animatronic world, twisted murderers, epic minigames and SO many more forgotten great games that arent just money scams

No wonder so many people think Roblox is “cringe” and only for six year olds, based on the kind of brain rot content they see on it. I’ve never realized until now how many games on Roblox nowadays are made only for one main purpose; get as many people as possible addicted (likely with the use of daily rewards, leveling up through repetitive gameplay, overstimulating graphics, etc). Some of these games sorta remind me of RU-vid Kids brain rot. Even games that weren’t originally like this such as Adopt Me turned into one of these games in some form. Many game developers on Roblox now are only getting hungrier for robux, and there isn’t much we can do to stop it. Especially with roleplay rapidly dying out all over the platform, most games now have little to no actual substance and unique gameplay. This also makes it harder for actually original and interesting games to get attention or on the front page, since they usually get buried under some new simulator that just got popular. All we can do is hope that things change for the better in the future, even though Roblox is currently rapidly going downhill. (I recommend Retrostudio, as it’s a Roblox game that accurately recreates old Roblox (2009-2015) and the communities are pretty similar too. It has a built in studio where you can make games and games made by others. Players are also more social there and the servers feel more lively.)

I was so addicted to roblox like everytime i come back from school i would try to sneak my way to my potato without mom noticing back then..but now i just ignore it. There is no fun games just filled with boring clicking games with little to no fun,and oders everywhere. I know there are some fun games but..like Siomai said "its like try to find a diamond in a trash can" Roblox doesn't care about its community it cares about how much they make thats what its making it bad.

As a roblox developer with 7+ years of experience, this is SO RELATABLE!!! I remember putting my heart and soul into a pretty much terribly executed game. I spent one and a half years on it to only get 40 visits. I had practically released it during the time when "simulators" were on the rise. I remember being eight years old and absolutely hating simulators and cash-grabby games for the same reasons this video explains. Roblox just cant seem to really care much about developers, in fact, you are more likely to get banned as a developer due to the fact that you are uploading assets to the platform, you kind of have no other choice but to do it and deal with it. Long wait times, terrible moderators, strict guidelines, unoptimized client, and outright unfair devex restrictions.. the ecosystem makes it almost impossible to make complex games on roblox. And then working for small teams with fanbases was absolutely STRESSFUL!! Fans expected so much in so little time, they did not understand anything about game development and just wanted us to release the game, expecting it not to be half-ah ah ah'd. With this platform, i constantly end up with massive roadblocks from just the development ecosystem. I refuse to pump out cash grabs because I want to create video games as if it were art. And thats because video games 𝗮𝗿𝗲 art. Roblox doesnt "power imagination" in fact it does the opposite... preventing it. Ive practically resorted to having to attempt learning ANOTHER game engine all over again from scratch, leaving all my roblox experience behind. Roblox needs to find ways to treat their developers who are there for, as the video suggests.. "experience" rather than money. Anyways sorry for long rant, i rlly enjoyed the video and u earned urself a sub!

As a kid, before vampire hunters was a thing, the creator had made FANGZ which imo, was much more enjoyable than what I experienced in the new vampire hunters that are slowly dying. Unfortunately, FANGZ is deleted. However, I love playing that one game where you clean as plants or that little robot game where you run around and do quest sjjsjs
