Why are so many police officers quitting across America? 

Why would anyone want to be a policeman with criminals as their boss.

Honest cops are quitting when they see how corrupt the system is.

Citizens are sick of being harassed, insulted and a refusal to enforce the law. Let the criminals go and arrest the citizens that do nothing. Ridiculous! A guy stole 2 cars in my county and they didn’t take him to jail. He had 16 felonies against him, and still no jail. However, tell someone that they are trespassing without any threats or foul language and go straight to jail.

After 22 years as a sheriff deputy I got out as fast as I could. I got seriously hurt in an assault, but when the line of the investigation got around to the feeling of I did something wrong. The hand writing was on the wall, and I was exactly right.

Many joined for the wrong reasons and they realise they can no longer rot the rest of their barrel with their corruption. But for those that joined for the right reasons, it is a real shame to see them go.

It seems law enforcement is a necessary evil at times. We’ve got citizens and even ignorant politicians who would do away with law enforcement and the second amendment. There is an idea for a scary movie where only criminals would have firearms. The title of the movie would be “ Chicago”

Unfortunately the public is all too willing to focus on the symptoms, and not the policies, which are the cause of the awful experiences they have with these officers. The dogs are not the problem, it’s the masters who control the dogs. They breed pitbulls instead of shepherds.

If i was walking down the street and there was a group of cops coming my way on one side and a group of gangsters on the other, i would feel safer crossing the street and walking past the gangsters.

My daughter who is a police officer and who was on the riot squad during the 2020 peaceful protests who dealt with the city having fires started, businesses broken into and violence against persons & police officers is still a police officer but now moved from the city to a smaller country force who has a completely different attitude towards their officers. But knows at least 50 officers who have quit, 15 who are on total disability and many many more who are one incident over the line from leaving this profession…

I am currently working on becoming an LEO in my community. I asked a local officer if he had any advice. His advice: “Don’t become a cop.” He said the politics are out of control and are hampering the job at all levels. I believe this is just a phase as it is clearly unsustainable on its current track. We will always need police on our streets. Policies are constantly evolving and that is not a bad thing but we need to face reality at this point. If you feel a calling to protect your community don’t be discouraged by the media or even jaded officers. Someone needs to do the job. Step up if you feel you can.

With what is going on in our country today, I am sorry to say I don’t blame them. I know there are cases, where they don’t appear to get the backing of their own senior staff and that must be very disheartening.

Shut down The Whole Police Traffic Division completely across America. Traffic Stops are NOT crimes. You don't go to jail or prison for traffic stops. Police Officers get paid to chase and arrest criminals. Also when you stop and think about it, All traffic stops and ALL checkpoints are a VIOLATION of The Constitution. You have The Right to travel freely on State and City Highways and Streets without being in molested by Government Officials unless you've committed a crime. Havin a burnt out brake light is NOT a crime, driving around with expired car tags is not a crime, tinted windows is not a crime, making an illegal U-turn when it is safe, is not a crime, speeding up to 15 mph above the posted speed limit is not a crime. You don't go to jail/prison for any of these mentioned. Police Officers have lost the respect and trust of The People, but police have brought this dis-like upon themselves by the way they treat The People.
