I do agree with you and everyone in the comments. But I have to thow a but in, my game or an original you are not finding in new condition for 1k. They don't exist. I personally won't pay 2k for a refurbished Mrs pac man, my favorite arcade of all time. It's ONE game, 2k for a. 40 yr old game? No. But in new condition that's what they go for the dam repro art work is 200 bucks alone. I wish mine or originals were 1k but they simply aren't.
"collecting" is itself, a pathological "hobby." The enjoyment comes from consuming, owning, and hoarding the collection, rather than any utility, life enrichment, or investment value of the objects. Also, many collectors are very lonely people who accumulate large collections - because they never have to think about "what will my family do with this junk after I die?" How depressing that would be for the loved ones, having to dispose of some collection worth many thousands of dollars, that only 1% was every actually enjoyed?
@@TrueSeed-ft1jn good point I actually thought about that alot. I made a will on how to deal with my collection. I would hate to die and my family gives the high value items I do have away not knowing the value. I don't collect for reselling or investment. I would like them to sell my stuff and enjoy the money for themselves.
@@randysmith7094 I'm not a professional youtuber that doesn't have a real job. I do this for fun and to help people do mods and repairs. I don't edit, I don't have a fancy intro and it makes no difference if I make a dollar off a video. In fact I haven't made any money I don't even know how that works. Although I do have a video camera but don't care enough to learn to use so I just use my phone
So I will say, I did just see one on ebay located in CT. In original condition but really nice. Would be great for me because I'm in CT. Here's the catch he wants $4,200 plus you can have it shipped for $800. So now we're at $5k. Also it works now but when was the monitor recapped? Pcb serviced? Is it going to die next month, next year? These are all things that need to be taken into account. Shipping will kill you believe me I've paid my fair share.
I really wish this didn't end up in my recommendations. I feel dumber for having watched. A true collector will pay top dollar for ORIGINAL hardware. Why would they pay your price for refurb-trash? You are over-valuing your product. Have fun sitting on product you can't move. 🤣
Meh ill sit on it I just wanted more room but I have plenty of storage space. "A true collector" a collector is someone that has a collection of like items original or not. Also it's not over valued please show me where you can get these games for nothing? Not one of you broke people can show me, because not original or original, inexpensive doesn't exist. Like I said I don't think pinballs are worth 10k either but if you want a new one that's what you are paying like it or not. I don't make prices I just pay them like everyone else.

I'm not a collector and I know the difference in the terminology that you're talking about. I also know that that hunk of refurbished garbage is not an original. There's no way someone's paying that much for something that's not an original. I have a friend that owns a retro arcade. Trust me, he's laughing at you.

ANYONE can make a replica, but the point is to have the ORIGINAL. I will be very honest - don't collect because you have no idea about it... I assume you made this video just to get more views.
