Sadly our governments only see sea-level rising and coastal erosion as an opportunity to campaign year after year. The governments preferring breakwaters and seawall instead of more efficient solutions like wave attenuation structures which mimick the effect of reefs is a dead giveaway. The seawall in Jakarta is a clear example that seawall only make matter worse

It is not that only in India some islands are sinking. Indonesia capital Jakarta is sinking so visible that their Government is shifting the whole capital to a place in an northern island. Indian cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Kochi etc are sinking like Poompukar, Dwaraka etc.
I have been living in kochi for more than 2 decades. Water level is not rising here. And i use ferries for travelling & work in ship. So i have fairly good idea. There are places in kuttanadu region of Alappuzha that are below sea level.
from last post industralization period have been started the Global Mean Sea level got rises upto 120-130m , it become a measure consurn for us to stand for the climate action ASAP
