Why Are Spider Mites Only Attracted to Certain Fields?

Spider mites are attracted to corn plants with a specific nutrient profile which meets their nutritional requirements as a food source. When the nutrient ratios are shifted, corn plants become much less desirable to spider mites, and pest pressure can be substantially reduced. In this video, AEA founder John Kempf and Director of Education David Miller describe how to manage plant nutrition to produce crops which are mite and insect resistant.
Brad Koehn describes his experiences in working with Advancing Eco Agriculture’s plant nutrition products and management strategies. He has observed foliar applications of plant nutrition products prevent and reverse mite infestations on organic and conventional corn crops, achieving perfect control without any miticide applications.

The content is so intersting to farmers, academicians and scientists; why don't you break the video into short ones say 20-30 minutes?

Indoor grower here. I used to get spider mites all the time. But after getting better with my soil mixes and keeping my plants healthy I no longer have spider mites and haven't for many years. Healthy plants can defend themselves

So, as a Gardener working in the amenity sector with ornamentals; the reason my Colocasia esculenta has an infestation of Spider Mite is because there is an excess of Amonium in it's foliage and, although the leaves of both the Zantedescha aethiopica growing adjacent to the C. esculenta contact each other, the Z. aethiopica attracts no Spider Mites because it's foliage does not contain any excess of NH4+ Following Sap Analysis let's say this is the case for every occurrence of this scenario throughout the whole Park Garden mostly year after year: Then what action ought to be taken by me to resolve the problem?

I had a 3 plant closet grow. Spider mites loved one plant and didn't care about the other 2 plants at all. Had a second episode of spider mites and they died after I applied the correct balance of minerals.

Will a plant keep "exuding" sugars if there is little to nothing to consume the exudation in the soil?

If only they knew this in the 50-70's. So much damage has been done.

I love your content, thankyou for uploading all of these videos. Growing plants that can defend themselves and dont need insecticides/fungicides is my biggest dream in life. I try to apply the concepts I learn, but without lab access, it is very challenging to acheive this. I struggle with mites/aphids in a commercial facility. Ive tried several different pesticides and they always leave my plants weaker than before application. I truly believe plants can defend themselves with their immune systems when fed properly. But, unfortunately i dont know how to acheive this, particularly with the cannabis plant. Ill keep studying, but any advice would be greatly appreciated

The easy answer is predator mites every 6 or so months, harder try other breeds. Harder still fix nutrition. Brix meter isn't so expensive
