the usage of Risk of Rain's OST is so based that even if yii arknights goes off the deep end and makes a surtr segment last more than 7 seconds i'd still watch it for the banger tunes
despite how versatile guards are, its actually amazing how outclass frostleaf is compare to her own classes (heck even midnight is better than her) at least brawlers have somewhat of an advantage over others from their cheap DP cost
Frostleaf is the best example of HG overbalancing their early ops "Here's free range extension for her at E2, but she gets even worser stats as the result" meanwhile, now you have Thorns having to keep his anti-air sniper range as a lord guard with DOUBLE THE STAT BUFFS by pressing his S3 twice
@@LeinRa-Reaction there's no "overbalancing" of early ops she's just straight up poorly designed, SA and Lappland are day 1 guards as well and are still very relevant to this day lol
Yii's 3rd skill is probably Immediately recover all HP. ATK +330%, Attack Range +2 tiles, attack target count +3, Max HP +5000. Gradually lose HP (HP loss percentage continually increases, capping at 20% Max HP/second after 60 seconds). Infinite duration
It's a good way to just increas the probability that what ever happend you will have basic 6 star guard or opening because imagine if evrything is 50/50 againts supports
Hello, just a quick question : I am on my 2nd months of playing AK, so far i only have exu, bagpipe, and mostima as my 6 stars should i pull for horn, or wait for irene ?
You’ll get free pulls for pulling from Irene anyways. I’d recommend pulling for Horn since she’s more versatile, though it might take a while to get used to her funky range :)
How well does Irene compare to Ch'en when dealing with enemies immune to levitate? The loss of the guaranteed -50% def down to 50% chance on every hit sounds like an rng nightmare for bursting down beefy enemies. Also am a bit curious if the initial big hit of her S3 is still subject to that 50% for a def down, because the description makes it sounds like she only levitates (and triggers her 100% passive) after that.
I know we'll eventually get the ability to use alters with their normal versions. But I can't help but have a little giggle at "Irene killed Ch'en" nonono... Ch'en killed ch'en.. when she picked up the funny watergun. This isn't comparing cross class of course, it's just.. can't bring both on global yet haha
The Blade waits at that spot for roundly a minute, enough for Warfarin and Ch'en redeployment, he probably brings Silverash for the redeployment time talent too
@@Pramit2000 S3M3 Ch'en starts with 20/30 SP, in the clip you can see Ch'en gain SP 5 times and do 5 normal attacks before using her S3 => 20 + 5 + 5 = 30
Guards are always the key for everything. Wanna do massive DMG? Use Guards Wanna block so many enemies? Use Guards Want to kill bosses faster? Use Guards Want to take out ariel units? Use Guards Want to bait or stall the enemies? Use Guards It's like the square hole thing
She can delete bosses with attack buffs, because her S3 makes her invulnerable in the process. I think only forced retreat attacks work on her then. Source: deleted Emperor's Blade without...too much issues. Because she had to charge her skill before the EB arrives, she had to block two other enemies, and her S3 prioritizes the closest enemies first. She still brought the EB down to a few hits left, and the EB wasn't able to use their forced retreat attack in time. Basically, if she can unleash her S3 on one target, with at least one attack buff (Warfarin, Aak, etc.), she can take on most bosses because that's *TEN* attacks on a single target, with a guaranteed stun at the end if they're affected by it.
@@eveakane6563 bro, I have an Pot5 M6 Ch'en, and I've been deleting bosses with her whenever possible. I just hate the way HG handles balancing with each future release and wanted to make a joke.
@@eveakane6563 More than that, she's untargetable. So even enemies with forced retreat won't do anything to her unless they're hitting the tile rather than the op, like Frostnova's black ice.
@@MrB10N1CLE so.. how is she now? Does she still good in the current meta? I have her e2 with no mastery but i doubt that she will be a game changing operator in the future
@@NA-Unmei She's an untargetable single-target delete button. M3 her S3 if you want to have some fun doing that. In that sense, she is not meta but very good at her niche. Her S2 nuke isn't "game changing" but satisfying as hell to play with a meme comp
Gotta thank you and zafang for hyping up ch'en i always that she was a low tier operator, but after your moody blues video and zafangs ch'en video I decided to build her and she's cracked (way more fun to use than chalter). Ch'en was one of my main operators for beating ex wd 8 CM. Can't wait for Irene so she and ch'en can double team bosses
What gacha games have taught me is that whenever there are 2 units that do more or less the same thing they work amazingly together. Deploy Chen and Irene together which will also help Irene get her skill fast af, buff them both with whoever, delete boss.
@@nguyendanhbang11a26 Theoretically yes, but on execution now. They are both sweepers so you're using them to clear a bunch of weak / medium strength enemies and youll most likely not need them both to do this. Unless you are using them to damage a boss together which is worse than just using 2 other good boss killers, there's less of a reason to use them both as 1 does physical and 1 does arts, use whichever is needed. A Different example of duo ops that work well together but are similar are Pozy and Schwarz.
My favorite thing about Arknights is that it's designed in such a way that you can make so many different strategies work based on personal preference. I love Irene as a character but Ch'en is my favorite character and favorite guard to use, and I'm salty about the whole thing so I will probably build Irene more to hold for situations where Ch'en can't do what I need rather than to replace her.
True dat. There surely are a dozen (if not by the dozens) ways to clear a map. Not only with tactics, but also with a highly different squad each time. It might be tight here and there, but most of the time you can even squeeze your favorite operator in there, even if they totally suck.
I do like Surtr's s1 actually, and use her for consistant damage. She basically gets just over 2x damage on m3... but then you can also skill battery her for even more.
@@tiaanmoller1508 Lucky you, but now you might be short on pulls for the upcoming BANGERS Horn and Specalter / Irene... Also save your certs, we have some stupidly good stuff coming to the certs store soon Eunectes = Sep 30th Surtr = November 11th Blemishine = December 23rd Mudrock = February 3rd Mountain = March 17th Eunectes is admittedly about to leave but it's worth saving for Surtr and/or the Blemishin + Mudrock power couple.
Remember her next time they give us another boss with some "does annoying bullshit on HP %" gimmick. Emperor's Blade, Degenbrecher, and Andouin all become so much easier with her, and I doubt it's the last time we'll see bosses with those mechanics.
Even though Surtr's S3 is her go-to skill and for good reason, S1 and S2 shouldn't just be entirely neglected. Sometimes you simply don't want to deal with the long redeployment timer or don't need her to nuke a boss. Her other skills can be pretty overpowered as well in the right circumstances. Especially considering their short (or nonexistent) downtime.
her other skills are just not needed, you can use plenty other ops for similar practicality her other skills offer. it's a matter of "Do I really want or need her for her other skills? nah, her S3 is her only unique gameplay"
@@Lotvk And why exactly is that? Why can't we just think of that talent as a lifeline for a few more attacks instead of something that you absolutely have to make use of? What about Blaze's talent? If I'm not spamming s3 until she loses enough HP to activate her talent does that mean I'm making the talent useless?
Ngl would definitely go for a much longer, more in-depth video. Since it dropped off fast from the titles presumed question, and devolved into a semi comprehensive overview of just a few guards. (Maybe I'm viewing it as a potential question? I was kinda hoping it was another semi rant/ things I dislike about arknights type of video. You do surprisingly well with those for entertainment/information gathering). also better or not, Irene will just stand alongside Ch'en, in all their glory~
I would like to say that the situations when Ch'en outdamages Irene come up more commonly that you would think. In an ideal scenario where there are always enemies to attack, Irene will always win - However, this is normally not the case. Since Ch'en's module basically grants herself a pemanent 0.66 attack SP generation per second, she's almost comparable with normal recovery skills. Her S3 only takes 15 seconds (same as Silverash) to helidrop - without needing a single enemy to attack. Irene, on the other hand, needs to attack an enemy to charge her skill up first. Ch'en will deal more damage if the map has notable wave downtimes, or when you can't afford to charge her skill up with fodder enemies first. The most determinant factor when choosing between Ch'en and Irene is whether you need AoE or not - If you do, definetly go for Irene. However, take care: Irene's S3 targetting can cause her to lose damage when attacking enemies away from your main target. All in all, I wouldn't say that Irene killed Ch'en. As a matter of fact, I would say that both operators compliment each other quite well, and are both worth building in their own ways.
*THE PORTAL-MIYA FIGHTS BACK* WILL YII SURVIVES Tune in next time on Yii-Arknights On another note, Ch'en Awesome does has her own niche. *Speedrunning* Any Boss, give her big buff, let her rip *Done*
Oh god Nearl's 2nd skill saved my amateur ass so many times, I stopped counting Only thanks to it i was able to R18 downseeker CC And many more stages included her as emergency button, which made even most failed(by me) stages a cake walk
i did some math, if Ch'en and Irene are constantly attacking it takes 26,4 seconds got Irene to charge her S3, while it takes 31,5 seconds for Ch'en to charge her S3 if Ch'en has he module maxed out it takes 16,3 seconds
Off topic but I’m here just to complain, my Luck with 6* is so bad bro. My starter 6* were Angelina and Hoshiguma, not bad, no 6 stars are “bad” but not the meta either. I didn’t know about re-rolling then, and I already invested 150 pulls into getting ling so I can’t restart. Then besides me investing a lot of pulls for specific 6 stars, my off banners have also been not so good. I never get any meta operators, only niche ones. So far I got Gnosis, Saileach, Rosa, and Magallan. Not bad, but they require, strategies or good map placements to to truly shine. This standard banner I decide to just pull for a guaranteed 5* got 6 start without any pity, and really wanted siege as I have no 5*+ dps vanguards and it turned out to be Gnosis. I’m assuming he’s good for like high risk CC content but man, I just want at least ONE meta operator like thorns, silver ash, mountain, ellafyjalla, Ch’en, blaze, saga, siege, bagpipe, exusai, surtr, Murdock, Etc. like my like with pulling 6* isn’t even bad, they’re just never meta and worth building. And speaking of this video I don’t even have ANY 6* guards, I’m out here using cutter and flamebribger 😢
