Or maybe he loves the game. And playing organized sports is far safer than playing street ball. You think the teen ager should spend the rest of his life on the couch... that's not living.
@@cjp1599 he could die at practice next week from a massive cardiac arrest. He's got a lot of safer reasonable smart options. What will probably happen is another big health scare and the he or his Dad will probably agree it's time to stop.
I can't agree more. We don't want to see him become another Hank Gathers. Also, I coached youth basketball for a school in South Jersey and the best player in our level played on the travelling team (same school also had an in-house league w/ 4 teams). This kid not only played the best teams from SJ, but this school also hosted a tournament w/ teams from all over the U.S. & so he played against teams from Texas, Brooklyn etc. He was 6'7" in 7th grade and he had a heart attack by his pool and died. Names not included in regards for the family & school.
USC fan here that actually watches the games, way before Bronny got there. As of right now, Bronny is NOT NBA-ready. From what I've seen, he doesn't look 100%. He only shot once in his most recent game against UCLA with only 14 mins of play. Casuals will call this an "excuse" but none of them know how serious a heart-condition is and will call him a "bust" no matter what he does. Those opinions don't matter. Also, ironically, casuals are having too high of expectations from him. He is NOT his dad, he plays completely different. He's not a pure scorer and he's nowhere near as aggressive as LeBron was his age. He's a defensive guard that is a good passer. A Rajon Rondo type of player. Great on defense, average on offense. In my educated opinion, his best option is to stay at USC for 1-2 more years, let him show us what he can do when he's at 100%. This season is a wash for him and the team in general, so I take it that he has newfound determination to prove the doubters wrong next season. Is there nepotism at play? Of course, Bronny can't control that his dad is arguably the greatest basketball player of all-time. So it's obvious that the spotlight is gonna be on him, you're a fool if you think otherwise. But you are also just a big of a fool to think this is Bronny's ceiling. I'm telling y'all right now, stop box-score watching and actually watch the games. Lots of basketball doesn't show up on the box score, and there are more than one way to impact a team than just scoring.
He should probably stop playing basketball with that heart defect. Won't be so glamorous if he drops dead playing soon. Guy is very wealthy and famous and can do a lot of things with this life besides playing basketball
@@tylerwhitney3443other players have had heart and lung issues and still had good careers in the NBA. Jeff Green had a heart issue. CJ McCollum had a lung issue. Bronny *could develop into a good player, but he probably does need to stay in college a couple of more years.
You’re comparing him to Rondo? He’s a point guard who can’t dribble. He passes it as soon as he crosses half court, because he can’t shed his defender. He’s a catch and shoot player. He’s a point guard who can’t lead the offense because his dribbling is below average. A point guard who can’t even get past his defender in college, is not talented enough to in the NBA. Ronda was great off the dribble and penetrating and kicking. Two things Bronny can’t do. You’re the one who hasn’t watched him play.
@@charliebeagles Because he was born rich, he doesn't have the hunger that Lebron or any of these young players coming into the NBA. He's a trust fund kid so he's set for life regardless if he succeeds in the NBA or not
@@almightyyeezydab5149lmao he only just got that hype because he has his father's name he is lebron jr. If his not lebron's son people dont know him, media nowadays is fucked up lol. I will admit bronny is better than me in basketball but his skills is not fitted in nba, he is just like thanasis they are just being relative to nba because of nepotism or because of there family name. You can also see that Lebron is little bit forcing his own son, Bronny wants to play ball but he is not that focus on the game. He streams COD and other games on twitch and not focusing much on improving his game cause if he really wants that path,he is dedicated to train and improve his game more. His playstyle today is just the same when he still in his highschool nothing much improve in his game
"Why are they doing this to Bronny James?" Doing what? Is Bronny a victim now? He averages 5.5 points per game and makes 5.8 million in NIL money...only because of his name. He may have some residual physical issues from his cardiac arrest but I highly doubt they're the difference between a 5.5 points per game scorer and a one and done first round NBA pick. I have nothing against Bronny but, minus his name and father's influence, no one would even think of him as an NBA player at this point. If he's drafted this year, it'll be pure nepotism and it'll make LeBron look awful. It seems obvious that Bronny should return to USC for his sophomore year so that he, and the rest of the world, can figure out whether he's a legitimate NBA prospect. That's only playing by the rules that other players play by...but other players don't have a father who is a billionaire with unlimited power.
Actually some other players have Basketball legends like Shaq and Pippen as fathers and most people didn't even know their kids were undrafted players until they were on the Lakers summer league team. LeBron however decided to go the other way and put even more pressure on his son.
It's one thing to support your kid, it's another thing to say he is better than players he is seeing on league pass and that he would be an improvement over people currently on the Lakers. That gets him unfair comparisons. LeBron added unnecessary pressure on him, all because he likes to hear himself talk
@@almightyyeezydab5149how is that a strawman?! Lbj, for *years* hyped his kid up while he was the biggest star in the sport. For years and years and years. Now he is tweeting “let Bronny be a kid”. How is that a strawman?
Whats crazier that lebron james was already playing in the nba at the age the bronny jr is now. And he was already dominating. Thats how good LBJ was and still is.
The issue is he was never that good at any level. Yet no one wanted to say that. They didn’t want to give an objective review of him. Maybe it was out of fear or whatever. But if he ever got real objective analysis it wouldn’t seem like he’s completely underperforming now.
@@jarroncarlton he most definitely can. But the issue is that he hasn’t really gotten better since HS. But because of the hype it seems as if he’s just a let down. But that only exist because he was never evaluated objectively from the jump.
i hope he doesn't feel pressured to declare for the draft immediately, its completely fine to take like 2/3 years in college so he can properly develop and get meaningful minutes
@ForeverRolling96 yeah exactly, its just been the trend now to take like 1 year in college or jump straight to the nba outta highschool. but there's absolutely nothing wrong with taking like 3/4 years (steph curry for example) its better to come into the nba older but more prepared rather than jumping straight into the nba at 19 when u arent ready and having your career fail
@ForeverRolling96 there was no one and done back then. Players stayed 3-4 years. Lol you teenagers speak without knowing any knowledge on what you speak about.
Ever heard of Peyton Watson? Had worse numbers than bronny coming out of college as former 5 star recruit and got drafted first round . Now he’s on the nuggets doing solid, why don’t y’all keep the same energy with 5 stars who go to the league with trash numbers relying on their hype to carry them?
Newsflash kid, plenty of players with worse stats have been able to get drafted due to making an impact on other parts of the game. You casuals think scoring is everything smh
He’s off most mock drafts now. Look there’s an argument for him not being an nba talent but a lot a y’all in these comments are discerning him with 0 credibility in your arguments. Like he’s not on mock drafts yet u fabricate that just to hate on him? Cmon man
@@artie8561 true. He does seem to be fairly explosive, i saw him play vs Oregon State. He's 6'4'' in shoes with 6'8''' wingspan sonthwts decent size. Could be like Avery Bradley
The actual assists points and rebounds aren’t a problem. The problem is his percentage. You just can’t be inefficient in the nba. I hope he can improve
@@AP90x Westbrook was the opposite problem though and it’s the exact reason why he never won. Westbrook had crazy stats on poor efficiency. Bronny has both of the bad parts
Honestly as a LeBron fan i think he should sit this draft out work on his game this summer and stay at least another year to improve and boost his chances of getting picked.
Considering his health issues leading up to the season, its pretty obvious he's not doing well considering he didn't have time to condition heading into the NCAA. He really should stay another year at UCLA and then declare for 2025 if he actually wants to take his development seriously and try to be an NBA player for a long time.
I think people need to stop conflating us not wanting an undeserving player not to make it to the NBA nor for nepotism to not prevail as, somehow, hate for Bronny. We don’t hate the kid. But it cannot be overlooked: 1) that sports is the greatest meritocracy and should remain as such. If Bronny isn’t good enough to make it to the NBA then he shouldn’t make it. 2) nepotism and cronyism has no place in sports. 3) LeBron is indirectly putting undue pressure on Bronny for his own ego to be able to have the prestige of being the first son and father duo in the NBA. 4) LeBron is encouraging expectations that may be too hard for Bronny to meet and may be setting up Bronny for failure.
@@BudOnTheLeaves Spurs, Miami would be the ideal place for Bronny, Spurs like to draft players who defend well who has high iq, athleticism, has the ability to pass then they will try to hone the offensive skills that's exactly who Bronny is.. Then Bron likes Pops a lot, if Bronny is drafted to Spurs Bron might go there for 2 years. Bron two years might bring Spurs close to 200mill in revenue
Or he can stay in college where they actually have practices. Going to the nba he would be in the g league the whole time. Not practicing just playing meh games... He should stay in college and get a degree, no James has ever accomplished that. If he is good enough he can start his nba career at 22.
LeBron (before): Look at my son, I wanna play with him in the NBA. LeBron (now): Stop paying attention to my son! You're smothering him! Funny how his tune changed when his son doesn't even perform similar to what most prospects would be at his level/age. No matter the circumstance, he still isn't NBA ready yet, whether that's his fault or not is of no consequence. Also, 6:03 is just a James-family type of moment - completing a wide-open dunk with flashiness while being down 23 points, what a James-family classic.
For as much as ppl say LBJ is the most hated on athlete, I think the discourse around his son and how commentators have handled it speaks volumes. Marcus Jordan was clearly not an NBA prospect, and no one pretended like he was. Bronny has not shown a lot of NBA upside, but saying he’s not an NBA player is almost taboo, and any criticisms have to be said with qualifiers and disclaimers. It’s telling
I think Lebron being called the best ever is the most hated narrative I don’t think Lebron is the most hated athlete. The Miami move did make him more hated than a lot of other goats though.
If your developement is hurt by injuried you need to re-adjust the plan. Why would someone ”take a chance” on him? He should stay at USC. This video has a clear bias. Fast forward five years and people are gonna cry about how he should have stayed in college and how the team ruined his growth by not taking their time him.
Bro’s heart literally stopped less than a year ago. Idk what more people want from him! The fact that he is alive is such a blessing! That’s all that matters right now!
I wanted to see the storyline play out, an NBA legend playing with his son. Unfortunately the undebatable truth is, if he didn't have the name, he wouldn't be on anyones radar, to prove that, look up some of the other college prospects with the same numbers. He's not an NBA player, I wanted to see the Bronny to Lebron assists but it just won't happen. People have bias because of his name, like I said he wouldn't be talked about, at all, if not for the Lebron James son angle.
I have never heard anybody say he is an NBA talent except his dad. For that matter, my dad thought I could have played in the NBA and I am white and fat
I’ll never wish failure on anyone, especially young men with their whole lives ahead of them. However, it doesn’t change the fact that he’s simply not good. He’s arguably not even a D1-talent, much less a future NBA player. He’s 6’1 with sub-par athleticism and no discernible skillset. Can’t shoot, can’t make plays for others and can’t defend. As far as his cardiac arrest, it’s been used as a crutch and an excuse for his poor play. For comparison, Keyontae Johnson virtually died on-court, went into a coma, missed TWO YEARS of basketball and came back better than he was before. Bronny missed very little meaningful time and, while you can give him some grace, it still doesn’t change the fact that he doesn’t have the skillset necessary to play in the NBA. His dad is mostly at fault for all of this, as he has projected far too much hype on his kid, who is downright bad at basketball.
wdym subpar athleticism and poor defence? I ain’t gonna lie I’ve only watched his highlights so maybe his defensive IQ is trash but he certainly has the potential to be an elite defender and he’s athletic asf. Plus, coming out of high school, everybody was talking about how he was a genuinely elite defender
Ok I can see the argument for him not being an nba talent but bro he’s listed at 6’4, still arguably one of the best perimeter defenders in his class and he also has a 40+ inch vertical. That’s considered athletic even relative to nba standards. dude there’s clips of him dunking with his head damn near at the rim. You’re completely delusional and have obviously not taking a single look at Bronny and who he is as a prospect. There’s an argument to be made that he isn’t an nba talent but yours is horrible and not at all based in reality. It’s obvious you’re just hating to hate.
The narrative that Bronny is not even a D1 talent is asinine to me, do me a favor and go look at all the McDonald's Americans from last year and their stats and come back and tell me if all of them are D1 talents then, the kid started on one of the best highschool programs in the country that has produced many NBA players and Bronny is not a D1 talent smh
@@Fgh-ng3qu Well, this was easy enough to verify. Out of 24 McDonald’s All-Americans, Bronny ranks: 16th in PPG T-11th in RPG 7th in APG T-10th in TO T-15th in STL T-13th in BLK 23rd in FG% 16th in 3P% 18th in FT% 16th in Win Shares He’s one of only 3 to be a part of a losing college basketball program (Collier, Stojakovic). According to Bleacher Report’s latest Two-Round Mock Draft, only 10 of these players are projected to be drafted, which would be the lowest total since the 2013 McDonald’s All-American game. Bronny is not one of them. Truthfully, there are a handful from this group of All-Americans who appear to be sub-par for the D1 level, not just Bronny. He’s a bottom-tier player in a bottom-tier class. It’s just the facts, regardless of what you’d like to believe.
I don't understand why some people want to see a kid fail..... he's clearly a hard-worker and I wish the best for him even though I don't like his father
Nobody wants to see Bronny fail people are just being honest about him not being good enough for the NBA. I want him to stay at College another year and improve and polish his game.
Why should people feel bad for an entitled kid born with a silver spoon in his mouth? The kid has never had to work for anything in his life, he was handed every opportunity because of his name.
@@NickMachado Sounds like someone is upset they never made varsity in HS. He definitely gets more media attention because of his name but it is wrong to ignore his strengths and talents because of it. He has been one of the best perimeter defenders in college BB this year and has serious upside as a 3 & D prospect in the 2nd round.
Wanting him to fail is so messed up. It isn't his fault. He is just a young man trying to live his life. He shouldn't be in the NBA based on his skill(at least now), but I can also see why he could provide value to an organization based on who he is. Like it or not, this is just how the world works. Nepotism like this is just reality, everywhere. Who you are and who you know matters. Hope he plays better, but hope he finds the path that is right for him, not what we keyboard warriors think is right for him.
The players have their contracts artificially "capped" for way less than the market value of their services. THAT is why players have so much non pay influence over teams. If LeBron (who is playing for way less than his market value) wants you to burn a second round pick on his son, you do that 10 times out of 10. It might offend your sense of justice, but as a team will tell a player when they get rid of him, "It's a business." It's the correct business move not to upset any superstar playing on your team under WAY less pay than he brings in, in terms revenue to the team.
im looking at his stats and ive watched a fair few games, and i see that alot of his averages are possibly a result of the limited amount of shots he gets in games. he has a majority of games with less than 5 shots a game. he has one game i see with a terrible shooting performance despite shooting 7 FGA. really bad game. but so many games are just 0-3 1-3 type games. Having so many limited shots and not enough opportunity to get a rhythm is affecting his play even seperating from the cardiac arrest. Although, no excuse for his 3pt shooting tbh, hes missing them and alot are open shots because of his percentages. but hes great attacking the rim and off the dribble and i dont see him getting as many shots up as his teammates and some would probably just say its cause hes not as good, and yes for some no for others id reckon. I think his shooting needs to improve big time but his overall ability is still a very good prospect esp with his defensive ability and IQ. could definitely start an nba career as a backup guard on a team working on developing talent rather than competing
You are exactly right, people are not looking deeper, if you look at other players who play similar minutes they have the same level of production often times Bronny has better numbers across the board like other than pts he has rebounds assists and steals
tbf those guys will also get a consistent number of shot attempts so theyve formed a rhythm. i do think bronny also gets taken out of games when he shouldnt. I've seen him help leads be formed and suddenly benched.@@Fgh-ng3qu
It's so weird to see a father push his son to live his NBA dream. When the father is already living his own NBA dream. Nobody in the NBA and its media wants to say Bronny is bad out loud. But he is. He also shouldn't be playing with that kind of heart condition. "But but Bronny could love NBA. He'd want to play bball with his dad." Sure. But the smart thing to do is to accept what he is and he is not. Before it actually ends him. Literally.
These spotlights and unnecessay attention on Bronny has to stop!!! Dude is just innocent! Bronny's sole existence, CURRENTLY, is to help LeBron James make history. Bronny knows it and that's why Bronny has not even showed up for any interviews. Bronny can then retire and inherit billions of dollars from LeBron, in which 99.9999999% of the people in this world can never make!
going from what we’ve seen so far, id say at best he would be a roleplayer on a winning team if youve watched 1 usc game you’ll see bronny being a true point guard. Bronny still has plenty of time to develop into a play making 3 level scorer
Bronny should go back to college for his Sophomore season and continue to grow. It's not the right time for him to go to the NBA, and him going just fulfill Lebron's ambition would be bad
The whole culture around grown men and women (let's be honest, mostly men) harassing and attacking teenagers is really sad. That doesn't only go to Bronny, but to all prospects, college players etc. This is just a toxic societal situation.
Dont know why you would transfer to a high school where you dont even get minutes. I dont understand these nba dads. Starting to think they're just dumb
Damn everyone is dawging dude in the comments, they have him on a minute restriction he just had a heart attack a little while ago cut him some slack damn
Basically up to him. I don't think he should play cuz of the injury, but it's his life. We can't stop it. Everyone in this comment section acting like they care more about him than his dad. Which makes no sense because they don't want him to be in the league because "lebron meany".
yeah they gotta give Bronny a break... he's a freshman..he's not his pops.. nobody knows what he'll do next season...King James got 2 mo seasons in em...!! dope vid..
Guys should not be drafted and holding onto roster spots to make their family current superstar members happy. See Thannis. It’s really sad that this has to be even said. If he’s good enough he’ll get to the league eventually whether he’s playing with Lebron or not.
Dancing like a clown while averaging 5 ppg. Like father like son. Lebron routinely celebrates when losing, flexing after a wide open layup while the Lakers are down 15.
Honestly the heart condition is an excuse to me now. He shows plenty of energy and upside on defense so to say it only affects his offense is just dumb. Now I will say USC was the worst fit for him. He was a passive player who went to a team that would only feed him that passiveness rather than him being forced to become a better player
