WHY ARE WE SNAGGED ALL THE TIME? THE LAKE IS SOOOOOOOOO LOW It's always amazing to see a lake without it's water and on a recent rip to Staunton Harold we got to see the typical lakebed of a natural reservoir.
Fresh water mussels like to be in shallow water mainly quite close to the bank in 3 to 6ft of water and generally clump together in numbers it also depends on the bed of the lake ie they like silt or gravel to thrive in ..unless the lake is really shallow you can usually cast past them into deeper water if you have that option.
I was there 5 weeks ago, had a great day catching big bream but the amount of floating weed nearly made it unfishable.....Rod tip up river style solved the problem though👍
