Shiva ji was not following mohini. Vishnu ji took the form of mohini again because an asura got the boon that they would only be killed at the hands of the son of shiva and vishnu

It's written that Shiva after watching Mohini during Ksheersagar Manthan for first time, he got Mohit or let's say enchanted by her form. After the ksheersagar manthan was done, Mahadev visited Vaikuntha to ask Vishnu to show him his Mohini form and when he did, even he got caught in bhooga. So sad story is not correct what u say .Every gods requested them to have a Child to kill a demon who ruled devas in that time. With the birth of manikandan every gods are happy. Shivji and vishnuji put manikandan near pamba river because king is the shiva bhaktha and his wife is the krishna bhaktha who has no child for years and praying to their respective goddess to have a child. As a boon gods give their child to king and queen without knowing them whose child is this. Queen loves manikandan so much that even god bless them by thier own child every one loves manikandan so much. With the help of gods itself queen mind was manipulated by minister send manikandan to forest for tiger's milk for mother who is temperary ill to evacute manikandan. But manikandan go to forest and kill the demon and in this time devaraj indra comes and became tiger. Manikandan get into tiger and come back to the palace. By this time king come to know all the misdeed by queen and minister. Manikandan gave pardon to them and requested to the king to make a temple for him to stay. The king rajshekhar 's wife was not that evil , she was also happy as the king when she saw ayyappa and taken care of him as her own son , but some years later the king and queen got blessed with a son .The king saw ayyappa as the elder son and decided him as the heir to his throne , but that time the queen started to think that her son should get the throne who is the orginal heir to the throne .And this made her do that . Actually the queen was getting manipulated by some people in the palace who was aganist ayyappa . Later when she realised her mistake she asked for forgiveness . And there is also a another fact After ayyappa killed mahishi he came back to the kingdom in tiger's back.

Ayyapa Swami's story seems to be of different timelines. The timeline of Samudra Manthan, the time of Treta yug and the timeline of his friendship with Vavaar .
