I am a Semi-proplayer IGL in China used to ranked top 1 in perfect world proleauge and what I think the biggest problem in CNCS or Asia in all is because of the lack of implementing systematic Counter strikes, more based on personal skills and dry-peeks(no util) are the dominence plays, in China stats on paper are been prioritize way too much than other things like your ELO, Rating, ADR, and etc, causing no new IGL and support or coach that could bring system to the team, everyone in CNCS thinks about how to become S1mple but not how to win the match. we could have 5 Simple 2.0 in one team but with no system 1+1+1+1+1 is always smaller than 5. Im 17 years old and I am the only young blood IGL in China who is trying to make a change but as what is happening right now there are no chance for any team in China to rise up and have a fair match with any other area on earth in CSGO.

Moved from playing competitive CS in Asia to Europe. I feel it’s so much easier to queue for MM, FACEIT and actual tournaments because esports is so much more developed here. One other reason is in matchmaking most games in Asia have hackers, not a racist thing it’s just facts. I compared my leetify record from playing in Asia to playing in Europe. Every other game in Asia I get hacker, sometimes even multiple games in a row, but in Europe I barely get any script kiddies.

I remember back in like 2018 I tried to play CSGO in Korea, the closest server was in singapore with like 120 ping and CSGO was also not free not to mention not even installed (let alone steam) on the internet cafes. The only ways to play back then pretty much was to play community servers and that's where everyone was. I heard it's better now with japan and chinese servers but no one really plays csgo due to sudden attack and other korean/asian FPS shooters. Even Valorant fell off really hard and more people play PUBG than valorant in internet cafes there, which really speaks a lot.
@psychological9890
@psychological9890 10 месяцев назад
very late but: it should somewhat be easier for Korea to play CS now since they now have their own server, located in Seoul which was added sometime in 2021. Although at the moment, game's practically dead. CS2 could maybe change things and they may potentially give it a try but not guaranteed.
@zzxcx5123

I think it is more on the density of players in each server knowing the EU has close countries and the Asian region is separate from one another specifically SEA servers. with that factor, the EU can be more competitive to rise above leaderboards or attention while it might be easier to reach the top leaderboards in Asia knowing there is less competition.
@aran145
@aran145 Год назад
It's a distribution problem on csgo's part . They didn't properly invest in Asia csgo . For comparison in Valorant there is separate league for Thailand , China , India , Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam , Japan , Korea , Hongkong/Taiwan and the top teams from each of these countries meet at one competition and the winner/top 2 from here goes to the major . If csgo does something like that it would've continued to be famous but they never figured it out . Must remember that Asia is too big and it has a very big language problem. Mix teams rarely work here and only with English speaking countries like Singapore. Usually they prefer one language like Thai , Indonesian , Korean etc . This is just one problem for professional players and there are a lot more problems i can list out which casual players face

europe has faceit which means they have an actual anticheat and also a scene.. southamerica has faceit but it is extremelly hard to find a match after waiting for 3 hours, I bet the same happens in asia, and if you want to develop by playing competitive or nowadays premier you get tons of cheaters because vac is trash.

sry if this was already mentioned in the video, but I'm korean and when i went to korea, it's honestly hard to play counterstrike AS WE KNOW IT. When I asked my cousin whether he knew what counterstrike was, he said "oh that really old (bad graphics) zombie game??"

@@launders I'm not sure what it's like now but it's definitely too late for CS (and I don't see CS2 doing much for that either) with Valorant, PUBG, Overwatch and Sudden Attack being far more popular FPS games than CS is in Korea, but I used to live in Canada and played a lot of CSGO. I moved back to Korea in around 2015 and had to give up playing even casually because the playerbase was pretty much nonexistent, MM especially Asian MM is full of cheaters and the ping was awful. I kept up with CS esports for a few more years but eventually I moved on. I can't speak for other countries but given that Korea is a pretty huge market in gaming I can't imagine it was much better especially for Southeast Asian players. The biggest factor IMO is Valve's lack of support or even interest in really trying to expand the market in Asia until recently, Valorant has marketing and ad campaigns, and there are 120 tick servers for matchmaking in Seoul, Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong, Sydney, and Mumbai (for Asia). Valve's very hands-off approach works fine for regions like North or South America and Europe who already have a very large base of CS players from 1.6, Source etc but it's worthless when trying to break into new markets. From that perspective it's not hard to see why Valorant esports has relative parity worldwide with competitive teams from every region, and at the last LAN a few months ago there was all three major regions represented in the top 4, 1st place was Fnatic (EMEA), 2nd place was LOUD (BR/Americas), 3rd/4th was DRX (KR/Pacific) and NaVi (EMEA). Similar story at Champions 2022, 1st LOUD (BR), 2nd OpTic (NA), 3rd DRX (KR) and 4th FPX (EU). Of course this is only my personal experience but I think it says a lot -- when even someone like myself who was a big CSGO fan and player stops playing after moving here because of the state of the game (at least in KR), what chance does the game have of attracting new players who might be interested when there are so many other options that have more support and marketing from the devs? I think that makes it all the more incredible what IHC have done despite the struggles that you went over in the video, but sadly I don't really see a bright future for CS in East Asia at least. Also as a side note, a thought I had was that because Mongolia is right next to Russia, and a lot of Central Asian countries including Mongolia have close-ish ties to the CIS region, there may be some bleed over from the popularity of CS there and that might be why they've got a small but dedicated playerbase. Sorry to reply to a month old comment (if you even do read it) but I wanted to share my thoughts on the situation as someone who's experienced the state of the game in both NA and KR/Asia.

As an Australian that watched quite a bit of Asian CS (cos timezone) you might think Tyloo were very sloppy but in that era comparative to asian CS they were damn clean. Like that 2017 Vici team made you want to tear your hair out and "the Mongolz" played VERY straight up usually (Kabal has come a long way). MVP (korean team) were fairly clean but they were dogshit in 2016 If you want an example of Tyloo not being extremely sloppy check their game against Immunity in 2017 Krakow asian minor championship. They were absolutely ruthless. The problem for Tyloo in that era is they played against Chinese teams too often. They played a TON of tournaments (they even played in a Chinese tournament with a 22 game group stage) and kicked the shit out of everyone except Vici/Cyberzen. When you win every game 16-3 you get sloppy and don't have to improve.

SEA region for example relies heavily on dominant plays and sometimes or even a lot of times don't follow the fundamentals like how it is in europe. They use more of an explosive style (which takes a lot of risk) which is why they usually gets punished easily. Eu teams a lot of times has a system while asian cs usually is just go with the flow. I haven't really seen IHC play tho. I think another problem is how there is absolutely no support from valve's side to grow the scene in the region.

Sadly, the game is dead pretty much everywhere else and there is just more hype and opportunity in VALORANT since RIOT actually cares. I used to be a long time CSGO player, but I rarely even play games anymore since I'm so busy with my degree but I do tune into VALORANT esports from time to time since I finally get to see Asian VALORANT compete with the tops of EU and NA and you even have a region like Japan so hugely invested into VALORANT which has never really occured in FPS games aside from APEX and VALORANT thus far. Asian VALORANT has a bright future throughout the whole continent while CSGO is sadly down to it's wits, with Mongolian and Chinese teams, and scrap die hard CSGO players from all the other countries who have yet to transition to VALORANT.

First off, I want to start off by saying that I am Asian too and I am from NE India. I don't know everything about it but to me, I think that it's because of the following:- 1). Lack of access to high level gaming: We don't have access to high level pro CS scene and if we want to make a living or a pro career at CSGO, we have to risk it all by travelling to EU and we cannot simply afford to do that. Most of us cannot afford to risk our lives because of a video game and even if we have that drive in us, our families would never have supported us in the first place because they would think that it's one of the most unrealistic aim in life. And we are going to have problems anyway if we dont have moral or financial support. 2). Asians are just not competitive enough in general. Even at faceit level 6 or higher, some players doesn't give a f**k about winning and would play it like gold novas on casual servers. They would just run out ramp and die, and never communicate information, never work as a team, and bitch and complain about it when we start losing rounds, some even go as far to report me for "verbal abuse" because I was scolding them for their incompetence and they can't take criticism at all. 3). We just cannot commit to playing 10 hours of CS every day just so we can become pros. Like I said, everyone needs to earn a living and most people would not take the route of the pro gamer.

Mongolia's cs environment is totally different from Chinese cs, Chinese cs has made the best Asian teams in the world, but nowadays, Chinese cs players now are more focused on making money on skin or playing smurf accounts for those people who pay for them to get into the higher level. The environment for Chinese cs can not go back, and I hope there are more tournaments in China and more young people can focus on CS, not on the money that much. Then is the time for Chinese cs back to the top.

in korea they simply dont play cs. in genre perspective tac shooting is not that popular. so there are no pool to begin with for pro scene, fps isnt a big thing here. 'esports' in korea is just lck and nothing else matters. (maybe starcraft?) in 1.6/source era there were some teams and players even in tier 1 scene. it all shrunk after cs go conversion. handful of pro cs players switched to valorant. and even valorant pro scene is not that big. p.s. we can play cs go in internet cafe here. cs go is installed in computers. but since no one plays cs go much, if i try to launch cs the updates are way behind current patches...

Much like all things, it's a combination of things + specific regions having more problems of a specific kind. But in general APAC suffers from 1. Lack of integrity ( china especially has a lot of shady throwing allegations that has bled it's way into SEA. ) 2. Primitive talent scouting methods I. E. Focusing only on trivial stats. 3. Lack of established constant T1 presence = less people of your region play the game. 4. This only affects china, but they have a country wide mandated curfew, not to mention the Asian mentality towards games is much more negative, even as it is changing due to games outside of cs, this will take awhile.
