Welcome to Arizona Robert and family! I moved to northern Arizona from Chicago 11 years ago! I have 0 regrets! The beauty of The Southwest is endless! Enjoy!🎉
I retired in Arizona from California. Everyone thought that I would head to Florida since I am Cuban but love the desert. You will have a friend here 😊
Congratulations on Pelicamp West! I’m so excited for you guys and what this means for your extended Western travels! To be so close to Las Vegas, Los Angeles and all of the west coast is so exciting! And to be right near the heart of Route 66 is the cherry on top! Thanks for bringing us along!
I agree, the camera does not do the Grand Canyon justice. You really have to be there in person to capture the feeling of absolute grandeur! Definitely one of my top 3 parks!
I have been to Arizona. Scottsdale, Phoenix, Sedona, Tuson and the Grand Canyon. There's not an aperture large enough to capture the Grand Canyon. The lack of clouds turns the Arizona night sky into a planetarium. The history and stunning countryside is impressive. I remember every western film 🎥 I've ever seen. I wish I would have rode the Grand Canyon railway 🛤. Thanks for recapturing the memories. Everyone of your videos are inspiring ✨️ 🙌 ❤️
Robert - I watched this video with my wife. When you talked about the parking spot you got in Winslow, we both burst out laughing! We did a cross country trip from our home in Port Saint Lucie, FL in spring 2023 and parked in the EXACT SAME SPOT!!! We also stopped at Meteor Crater and actually spent a night at Twin Arrows. Best wishes for Pelicamp West!
How exciting !! Congrats to you and your family and enjoy many new memories to create in the beautiful state of Arizona, plus many beautiful sunrises and sunsets to experience ❤
Out of all the choices you showed, location wise it's perfect. Close to Vegas, close to beautiful nature, close to the interstate, close to a good sized town for necessities. Pelicamp west is going to be awesome
…And your own personal desert sunsets await! Besides finding a little piece of the West to call your own, and the great little flashback to ‘Old Kia’, this video features the number one thing on my bucket list…The Grand Canyon (maybe next year)! The late day’s lighting there actually turned out fantastic, and whatever you’ve adjusted or changed in your A/V setup, has made a noticeable improvement in the quality of your videos. Thanks for taking the time to continually improve and invest in your stories. It’s so worth it!
If you get to see the Grand Canyon, be sure to take the trip up onto the Kaibab Plateau to visit the North Rim. The South Rim is stunning; the North Rim is breathtaking.
Your channel is great! Great conversational narration, wonderful music and excellent camera work. The content is still fresh and engaging and getting better all the time. Especially now with Pelicamp West, we will get to see more of the West. Thank you taking us on your adventures. Congratulations on your big purchase. I think it was the best choice, too.
Congratulations Robert! My husband and I bought a house in Goodyear ten years ago. We drive down now every fall from Niagara Falls Canada. We love the drive and your videos bring back good memories. Enjoy your land!
Whoohoo!! I've been waiting for this episode ever since you mentioned you were interested in Arizona! Thanks for taking us around with you and sharing your thoughts about each place. Looking for a place to live or invest in is not a light decision. Glad you found your Pelicamp West! Congratulations!
Congratulations Robert! Golden Valley is lucky to have you guys in their community. I’ve been singing driving to the west and riding in my RV to my kids and grandkids for all these years…it feels like I really know you. God bless your family!❤TNNana
Congratulations Robert. You guys will be much happier in the north west corner than you will out east. I was biting my nails at the beginning of the video.
Iam real excited about Pelicamp West. Been enjoying your content for a few years now. You have so many Adventures. We will be hitting the road real soon, I hope someday are Paths Crossed. I will by ya a Beer and enjoy your stories.
My navy husband and I retired to southern AZ about 70 mi so of tucson. Been here over 30 years. Love it, yes these beach people loves the 🏜. Even after my husband died I stayed.
Love the comments everyone! Passed through Winslow last weekend. Didn't see the famous intersection, but I found the local hardware store. Glad to exit the interstate and see something different. Maybe next time I'll check out the Flat Bed Ford! Happy Mother's Day🎉❤
Welcome to the SW America!! We desert rats are good folks for the most part. I’m excited you found your place for the west camp!! It’s a good one! Love the mountains in the area. Hope it becomes a great place for you and Illy!
I worked in Arizona loading trucks with boxes of lettuce ! I loved southwestern AZ Parker Yuma, winter dosent come to this area and not far from my favorite place on earth San Diego
Good morning Robert. Congrats on ur new Pelican camp West looking forward of seeing it. l enjoy your video. l love when u visit Bedrock area and the animals were peeping at hole. That was funny and they seem to like them being filmed. Arizona was beautiful and mountains were awesome to see. it was a fun video. Happy Mother's Day .
I'm really enjoying this video. Golden Valley is your best pick for good roads, but big lands that I know of. South East corner for rains high elevation
Hey Brother, did you ever put your sticker on that flatbed truck??? I didn't "see you" do it - but that doesn't mean that you didn't do it either. Anyways, it's always fun to watch and celebrate your travels, and I'm still praying for you to find "the perfect ~ West Basecamp" for you. Blessings Bro.🙏 Stay Safe! Edit: Congratulations!🎉 btw, who in the world would write a comment before watching the whole video to completion? My Goodness!!!
Hello Traveling Robert. This was absolutely amazing. There are so many places to enjoy and that fact that your building land is awesome. I enjoyed every bit of this...especially checking out Winslow Arizona! I've known this area before visiting The Grand Canyon. Thank you so much for this presentation.
The more bare around your living area the better. Does not take long before mice and pack rats become an issue, Congrats on your land. That is exciting!
Great choice Robert! Golden Valley seems perfect for a winter base.Standing between L.A and Phoenix, near Las Vegas, surrounded by so many National Parks,Forest,Monuments and a few hours away from the west coast.Congratulations and greetings from Greece!
Hi Robert. G.V. is a great choice. I moved to Kingman 4 years ago after a lifetime in SoCal and love it here. Sure, it takes some time to adapt to high desert life but its the perfect home base for RV'ers.
I am THRILLED to see that Pelican West has landed in AZ! Congratulations 🎉! Nice choice good location and city water is a plus! (This is Mrs Max McLeieer). Hope to see you sometime. BTW I remember when you had the mishap in 2018. It was amazing how you got out of that predicament.
I think the property has a lot of potential. You can plant trees and shrubs and the biggest plus is city water, because down in the desert water can be a problem. I like the vibe of that area in comparison to the other places you looked at. Love the Mts and it is in a quiet location on a hill and not in the valley. Looks to be a good find!
Congratulations on the new property in Arizona. Love your vision for development of the two RV sites. Winslow, Arizona was cool. Love the Eagles music especially Take it Easy. Will have to make a trip out there to experience it ourselves.
Congratulations on selecting a place for Pelicamp West! It seemed you had your heart set on the Kingman area already, which is probably the better choice. The Show Low/Springerville area is beautiful, but as you said, the rutted roads show the dirt roads would probably be impassable in wet weather. The ruts tell the story. That's the same mudstone as what's exposed at Petrified Forest NP. Slippery when wet from Monsoon Season rains! 😉 Looking forward to seeing your development of your new Pelicamp! Safe travels, my friend!
Your video inspires me to return once again. First visited nearly 50 years ago, last visited with my daughter in 2017 by train from Williams. Yes, we did get reservations at El Tovar and worth the effort. We got to see the Hopi girls perform and a wonderful exhibition of the hoop dance at the stage in front of the Hopi House. Got to go, one more time!
Just want to add my congrats to you and Illy grabbing a piece of the west for yourselves. You seem to have found a very centrally located spot. And you can now explore all the ghost towns and very intriguing border towns of Nevada, Utah and Arizona in-depth, which will give you at least another 5 years of excellent videos to look forward to. Cerro Gordo,, Wendover and West Wendover (home to the airfield which saw the takeoff of the Enola Gay on her mission to Japan), and many many other ideal locations for your exploration. Looking forward to your future adventures!
Hey Robert.. Another great video. All I could do was LMAO when you were stuck and bumping the fences. I envisioned you as Austin Powers in the golf cart stuck in that tunnel hallway bouncing off the walls. Thanks for the Great Laugh.. Good luck on your journey to find land for a new home. Any of those RU-vidrs would be great neighbors..
Robert, I've watched the video of the last time you were in that area a few times. And was pretty amazed when you took the detour off of I-40 . Why was I amazed? well that's because I did the exact same thing about 15 years ago, on that exact same road, after stopping at that same place near the old KOA, and kept going down the road, just like you did. Luckily I was not pulling an RV because I don't know if I could have gotten out of there like you did. That was some clever driving on your part! So to see you do the same thing was pretty funny. When I first watched you start down that road, I was yelling out loud, "nooooo, turn around"
Location wise you scored for what you do. Good choice. Our area is more for long term to full time with nothing close unless you like National Forest camping and hiking. Welcome to the west and exited to see what you do with the new place. CHEERS!!
I have to say it all the time, but the music is also a big part of me coming back to Traveling Robert’s videos! It is very comforting - I find myself singing the songs all the time ;) great great channel!
Really interesting to see all the details of your property search. There's actually another Wigwam Hotel left in Cave CIty, KY. Your first trip out west in Old Kia was my inspiration to start RVing.
Great view of the Canyon, a huge crake on Earth, just wonder how was 10 million years ago, what's it fill with water ? We sure visited it from Las Vegas, stayed in the Trump hotel & hop in a small plane visited the glass walk, the Indians own the park. Can't remember what was the name of the place. Thanks Robert for such a lovely video. Congrat on Pelican West !
