Also since ASEAN is neutral it should not serve the interest of the CCP or the US and instead serve the interest of Southeast Asian. Removal of the Philippines is against that principle. Plus its not only the Philippines that had upgraded alliance with the west Vietnam, Singapore and Thailand too. So it would be hypocritical if ASEAN voted to remove the Philippines. In fact there is no such plan to remove the Philippines. I'm sure Vietnam would protests against it as Philippines is the only country it can rely on to support protests against Chinese aggression within the union cause the other member are reluctant to post a negative remark about China's actions. Most ASEAN countries who had a maritime conflict with China have good military relations with the USA.
