I am a resident of Assam and I have seen floods every year in Assam and thousands of people's houses are washed away by the floods. No government comes forward to solve this problem just goes on big stages and says that the flood problem of Assam must be solved but they do not come forward one step to solve this problem.😢😢😢😢😢

Yeh Bangladeshi log Brahmaputra ke paas Ki zameen aur Brahmaputra island pe kabzaa kar lete hai aur Temporary ghar bana lete aur har saal flood me doob jaate hai aur Goverment se madad bhi lete hai. Joh Madad Local Assamese ko 100% milna chahiye thaa usme se yeh log bhi Assamese logo ki madad se hissa le lete hai.

Definitely, He is the personification of far-sighted vision. Both Odisha and Assam, some time in back eras have similar disastrous condition i.e. Frequent floods, huge deaths of humans as well as cattles, etc. But his vision is incredible, the way he transformed the disaster management teams is unmatched and made Odisha, a decade ahead.
I am from Dhubri, Lower Assam & as Dhubri District is also close to Bhutan. Water of Brahmaputra along with the water from Bhutan during monsoon creates a heavy influx of water which is beyond normal water level (flowing rest of the year) of our tributaries of Brahmaputra like Sankosh, Laskar, Gaurang rivers etc. originating from Bhutan resulting floods in Dhubri. One solution that we can do to minimise risks is to building Houses in such a height that water cant reach our homes, cause those who know when water enters your home upto chest level, it causes damage to everything like TV, Bed, Pillows and what not. You cant even imagine the destruction it causes every year to properties.

The best way is to prevent this flood us to follow 2R APPROACH 1,,)REGULATE 2) REFORM Firstly they basically regulate the scheme and within the period they also monitor it. 2 ) they also reform the old scheme and they put some technogical thing which save the people lives. Government also restricted the people to make their house in flood prone areas. And also set the alarm and alert scheme ,🙂
It is sad to say that it's been 75+ years since independence still Flood problem of Assam is not declared as national problem and solve the problem permanently. Shame on All Political parties coz no one solved the problem.

We have seen many kinds of floods in Assam but current one is much more dangerous, not because it is devastating but because it stayed for very long, trees are dying roads and tracks are getting destroyed because assam is submerged in flood for about 2 months. War effected Afganistan can built an artificial river but we can't built one project to Chanel the flood water safely into the sea.
Not every but many of floods are natural calamity we can't do anything even china and dubai also affected by floods despite having good infrastructure so instead of political fight we should focus on CLIMATE CHANGE
Really its disaster😢in Assam . Kaziranga National Park world famous one horned rhino 🦏 badly affected in Flood. Almost 100 wild animal dead and many people suffered. Thank you for reporting this situation

We have floods almost every single year! and not even our state govt cares let alone any one else from other state.
I am a resident of assam... Every year flood situation happens and getting worse day by day in the state. Our village is near Brahmaputra River and since last 10days we spent our every night without sleeping. There is a scary situation here. Govt is busy in their politics. Distributing reliefs and taking pictures for social media. But they do not think about the permanent/ reliable solution for this disaster. Polititians only thinks about their fame , they thinks about people but only before the elections 😊🙏 India will become super power only when our politians thinks about it seriously.
It is easy to comment from New Delhi to make few large ponds to solve the issue without realising the magnitude and impact on the ground. The so called powerfull ministers must count their efforts and visit to the state during its distress. Just because it occurs every year, it do not mean that people are not affected. We suffer every year during monsoon, and the govt. is still trying to solve the problem with obsolete technology. Funds must be channelised for adopting latest and relevant flood management technology.
Human encroachment. Assam always flooded through history but now people are making houses in flood prone area. The population of Assam has skyrocketed in the last 100 years.
May be we need dreging in river every year remove sand so we can use that sand for development work and export 2nd benfit is we can reduce flood effect
