You're a good man. If only there were more teachers like you who knew the subject instead of just saying, "This is the formula and that's why it works that way."
Honestly mate your videos are awesome and it's such an inspiration to see a young, enthusiastic maths teacher. I was a maths teacher for a few years but, as you say, it is quite difficult. I realised that perhaps I wasn't cut out for it. Much respect and keep it up!!
I love teaching mathematics! We need to show our students that the world is full of mathematics. That's when my students really start enjoying the subject.
I agree totally. I went back to school as an adult and am in my final semester of earning a degree in Physics with a Mathematics minor. I have been a TA (teaching assistant) in Physics courses for 2 years now and have found that I absolutely love talking about and helping others understand and get excited about Physics and Mathematics. The great thing about Physics is that it is the description of reality, in all its beauty, though the language of mathematics, so I feel it gives me a unique perspective from which to describe the usefulness and beauty of math. I love talking about it, and giving students that "a-ha" moment is so fulfilling. Next I am pursuing a Masters in Teaching, focusing on Secondary Math and Science education, with a goal of teaching Mathematics and Physics in high schools. I'm so excited about it and can't wait to spread the love and fascination I have for these subjects with others. You are very inspiring to me and I hope that I can someday inspire others as you do.
Brother... I love the way u extract something into simpler understanding... I meant U really can make a pattern towards subject u are going to teach... If most of teachers are like u... I do believe that study is much more fun and simple to be grasped.. However, nowadays in fact.. Not many people have this ability... Some of them are genius but do not know how to teach simpler to students... In my point of view, I do believe... Teaching is a talent... Not many people could convey or extract some knowledge into a simpler analogy... But U brother... Actually I just watched your videos maybe 2 or three... U are nice brooo... Thanks for this buddies... Thumbs up from me... Keep it up brooo... :D
***** : yes bro... thank u so much too :)>>> BTw.. I am IT student from Indonesia... n I found fascinating to learn Expert System after watching your videos... I knew that u are math expertise.. But I do hope... u have many videos also for Expert System Algorithm... such as Fuzzy algorithm, and etc.. Cause lot of your works are in math subject... Heee... :D Thanks in advance.....
I am Gideon and from Ghana... I have been watching your tuitions for a while now and it has been helping me solve maths problems.. I want to go to the University to read Mathematics... And I wanna be like or be more than you... I love maths very much and I have passion for it.. Pls help me live my dream
“Eddie Woo Mathematical School” Is needed in particularly deprived areas. This guy’s maths teaching alone is probably enough to tackle social mobility, huge game changer
I'm a BSCS graduate now taking up ProfEd Units and someday planning to teach Math. Found out this video will totally inspire me to continue my dream to teach mathematics.
As a computer science major I’ve thought about transitioning to mathematics and teaching it. Funny enough I graduated high school with a dislike for math, but in college, I’ve ended up loving it and think teaching it to others would be very fulfilling.
Loved this video, very motivational..I'm excited about teaching math, I have a math degree but no teacher training..any helpful resources for a newbie?
I love math. I really want to teach math at the junior college level, but my wife tells me teaching "sucks." She is a school psychologist. I'm sure it is a difficult job but I can't stop thinking about it. I've had this dream for about 4 years now.
Dilbert W I’m in the same situation. I love math and can’t see myself doing anything other than teaching math, but especially in the state where I live being a teacher just isn’t worth it.
Hi Mr woo Where do you brush up your knowledge., What are your resource to get new up to date technic . Like: finding a much better way to let then your previous attempt..
I wish you were my math teacher in college. The professors were too lazy and didn't really want to go over explanations. And snapped when a question was asked. I dreaded coming to class. 😭
I’m a student, and I have an idea of being a maths teacher in the future if I can. However I’m worried about my skills or a slight lack of understanding in some subjects. Do you have to be good at maths in order to be a maths teacher?
Are you in high school? I wouldn’t be too worried. Focus and study hard in college. That’s where most of your mathematical skills will come from. It all comes with time and dedication. If there’s something you don’t understand you can always ask your professor or seek the answers.
Though Eddie Woo's videos are amazing, he has directly demonstrated that the majority of his job can be replaced. By having great videos like his, I can finish an Ext2 topic and be proficient before my teacher has begun teaching. In fact, there are times where our teacher realises that no one is listening to her primarily because they all have their own work. Plus with the price of living growing exponentially, why would anyone want to become a teacher?
i want to be a math teacher. what are the types of maths should i sign up for year 11? math specialist? methods? i would appreciate it if someone gives be an advice
I restarted loving maths after a middle school book I read midway, called Mathemagics, by Dr Art Benjamin...AND the love was bigger than the first, everyone. Ironically, Im a AA degree in mechanical engineering
I am graduated from College of Science in mathematics so i dont have teaching skills and i want to be a teacher in mathematics Can you help me if there any free courses in strategies of teaching math
Mam today I made a mistake in copy correction. I teach maths. There was a division sum the answer should be 603 as quotient but the child has written 63 and missed 0 . It was my mistake I saw the statement for that word problem and sent a correction mark ✔️✔️ and the parent called me and scolded me for that mistake and told me that he should complain to my principal about this. I apologized sincerely for my mistake and he said it's fine. But I am feeling extremely guilty and scared about this. I am in my first year of teaching. Please Sir suggest me what I can do about this...
Why didn’t I be a maths teacher? I’m a perfectionist, I can’t really take it when I see a student don’t understand the basics of something, so I’ll intend to explain what and why of it, and try to brush him up to what I want to teach in the class, but by I realised, it’s already end of the class lmao. So, I had a hard time when giving my gf a revision in the library when we were undergraduates, I was told my lecture is hypnotising haha!
...but why should children be motivated to learn algebra, sequences and line equations? It has no use unless they intend to do it at university and further.
I love numbers and yearned to be a high school math teacher but school officials, particularly the DOE, discouraged me as much as they could (without making it look so obvious) from chasing my dream. I also recall CUNY guidance counselors discouraging me from pursuing my academic objectives. This was all done in an effort to keep certain minorities from reaching success and job security. The New York City DOE is the definition of toxicity. So, I did others things with my life. Now at 59 years old with three (not boasting) college degrees, I find myself working as a security guard making peanuts for a living in a dead-end job with no pension, no benefits, a simple but confusing 401k (knowledge of the stock market is needed), and the list goes on and on. How about that for a story?
I'm Asian and I look up to you but I can't relate I really don't want to be a teacher - it's just not worth it. I don't like going over the same theorems over and over again either...
So guys... let's say bad things about our teachers in this comment... "if only my teacher is like him"... "i hope you teach in our school, my teacher sucks!!"... "i believe i can get good grade if you teach me, my teacher doesn"t know what he is talking during lesson".... STUDENTS ARE GOOD AT CURSING THEIR TEACHERS.... 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😉😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂.... if you dont trust me... go check other videos on youtube... videos that show teachers teaching maths... read the comment section...
I always been taught Maths is about mechanically regurgitating rules and repetitive exercises in Malaysia. I know you might not be a teacher had your parents not left for Australia and you subsequently not growing up in Australia. Nevertheless, I still want to say, what a loss of talent to Malaysia.
