The one I really want is the Beechcraft Bonanza V35. That was the plane that inspired the song, "The day the music died." Some may say the song was inspired by a dead rock star. That is incorrect. It is about at fateful flight the 3rd of February 1959 on board the V35. On board my V35 dashboard, there would be three mossy rocks, and silver wings. It would be to honor: Buddy Holly The Big Bopper Ritchy Valens Pilot Roger Petterson Rest in peace dear air travelers.

The v could very well be the best single ever.

@@beno177 It is very likely the most beautiful single engine, as well. It has such beautiful, streamlined looks. I love it.

I honestly hope to get a king air one day... if i reach commercial status on the pilot lisence. Because as much as I like it, only way I can fly that thing is if I can charter the plane out to make it pay for itself.

If you truly want to fly a King Air, there are plenty of Part 91 and Part 135 operators using them. Owning one requires business knowledge first and piloting skill second; heck of lot faster and easier to find a company already flying them.

I feel like this video is too short for this topic. I could go on about why the duchess is the ultimate multi trainer for more than fifteen minutes. The Bo, King Air, and T34? How much tie do we have? There was even an armed version of the A36. There is something wonderfully insane about a bonanza literally packing heat.

Well, except for the Bonanza model with the V-tail. It took Beechcraft quite a long time to get that to work properly.

I do not believe Beechcraft bonanza V tails ever earned the label as so good, they did earn the label as the doctor killer! like it or not they have killed allot of people!

I owned a K35 V tail. It was a gem of an airplane. I miss that bird!

The fork tailed doctor killer is my favourite single engine aircraft. I really want one.

The Bonanza wing is the secret sauce. Used on many Beech aircraft including the King Air, it is the reason for their success. The fuselage is also shared with other planes in the Beech lineup. Barons, Travelairs, Twin Bonanzas have the same fuselage as Bonanza. Of all GA aircraft the basic Bonanza has not been changed since it-was a 35 in 1947. The stretched A36 is the only major change if you want to call it that. The early Bonanzas were very light and performance is surprisingly good for 185-225 Hp. As the Bonanza progressed it got fat. Wood floors keep vibrations and sound to a minimum. They are really nice to fly as most Beech are. My Buddies dad was a Navy pilot and said the Bonanza was very similar to the Hellcat in all ways.

The airplane did not kill alot of people. To take it a step further, the V35 was not a more inherently dangerous aircraft then most other complex, high performance, single engine aircraft of the era. The fact is, that aircraft of that type did not have any sympathy for a pilot that was not current in his ratings and proficient in the type. This was a high performance complex aircraft that would bite the unqualified pilot.

The early Bonanzas were sold as you would buy a car. Doctors had enough money to buy them and mistakenly treated them as a car. Bad weather was and is a killer. The Bonanza is very slick. With gear up and in a dive or descent they don’t slow down with pulling the throttle. If you get disoriented and spiral out of the clouds at 400 mph you may break the plane up. That’s what happened a bunch. Nothing wrong with the plane.

Why they're excellent? They're not. Like Glocks, they are overpriced and overrated.
