mapping different VNIs to same vlan, sounds to me a bit similar to private vlan concept, a way of subdividing hosts under same vlan, well,, a much better improved version that is :)
Hello Mr. Vishnu, Very good explanation on VXLAN. I had learned the theoretical and practical application of VXLAN. I have a question - let's say on Mr. Rahul's datacenter, two customers are sharing the same switch with both of them using the same VLAN tag of 10. How can we map the same VLAN 10 for each customer to two different VNIs?
Hey, Thank you for liking this video. On a particular switch, it is not possible to use the same vlan 10 for two different tenants. As I mentioned on a particular switch, VLAN's are going be 4096.
This is true for a single switch. In old legacy switching you can have max 4096 VLANS across your L2 Network which can have multiple switches. But VXLAN took out this limitation.
