Once the ballfield tournament finale shot off fireworks and my cousin, a few other guys and myself were cleaning it up. We had the orange powder on our sidewalks for weeks. Last year we shot off so many bottle rockets [literally in bottles] it left a black ring and it's still there after 1 whole year.
I remember when I was a kid you would get the artillery shells and shoot them at each other and try to aim for their eyes and try to blind the good times
to be honest every firework brand has its good and bad, we wouldn't have 2,000 different types if only one brand was the best. However black cats did have its props when everyone was kids, I mean all we could say is "I want some black cats". lol
It is true Black Cat is really good, we just bought from them today, at a tent, and the tent had other brands too, but the people who worked there recommended black cat.
Been shooting off fireworks for decades and have tried all kinds of brands. Black Cat is my favorite. High quality. Very few duds or disappointments, good colors, loud, and THE BEST missile bases, which are my favorite. Brothers is good too. But best mortars I think are World Class Fireworks. The Excaliburs are some of the best I have ever shot. I do not care for Phantom or TNT. My buddy always gets Phantom, and they are a good value, but in my opinion, they are noticeably less spectacular than the equivalent from Black Cat or Brothers. Of course, "the best" is an opinion, so each to their own.
Your right Blackcat is a good brand, the problem is for a store to sell Blackcat fireworks the store has to enter into a contract stating something like 90% of the fireworks they sell are to be Blackcat fireworks only. Although there must be some variation on this because occasional I will see an occasional single Blackcat item in a fireworks store. I wish I could buy more Blackcat also.
Get a ATF license and then you can buy 1.3g fireworks and then learn to make your own fireworks. There is a science too it and that's what makes it a fun hobby!!
The year Diablo Mortars were released I passed up trying Excalibur for them. Tried Excal shells the next year and not only were they better they were cheaper. WTF!?
Temple Of Heaven (Now An Ping), Wu Tai Mountain, Lidu, Po Sing, Bei Hai and Red Lantern all make/ made superior products when compared side by side to Black Cat. They did have the lead at one time in packaging reloadables though.
The difference in brothers, world class, red rhino, megabanger, powersource and other big brands is that when it says 500 gram cake, it usually is. Black cat on the other had is notorious for saying 500 gram when in reality....whoooppss, we actually meant 300 gram...but we are still the best because we have a black cat on our paper. Black cat makes excellent small items, I will give them that. They make good firecrackers, bottle rockets, fountains and other stuff. But when it comes to artillery shells and 500 gran cakes, buy anything but black cat if you want the most bang for your buck!
jtarman70 This could not be further from the facts. If you are a novice or just want a bang (a loud sound), then yes buy some of those other brands that will be loud if they go off. But if you are a true pyrotechnic enthusiast or want more than just a lot of bang, so if you want a great rounded show that has good bang, the most vivid colors and cool things like 500g cakes that has triple layered affects in every shot (unlike those other brands you mentioned) New from Black Cat Fireworks called "Unrivaled" you will go with Black Cat Fireworks. And also for the safest show go with the one with the Black Cat on the paper because they have the best quality control program out there. So you won't turn out like some firefighters I know of that had their fire truck hit by 500g cake loads that shot OUT THE SIDE of world class product in a city firework show they were watching just last year. Have a safe season and happy shooting!!!
me, ive used both, im from northern ireland. the el tigres are from france and are okay but da black cat bangers are way better and louder, the bad boy screamers are great.
fewer duds, i had 2 cakes go off on the ground, 3 roman candles not even do anything after being liten and they were all blackcat fireworks, royal party are the best
the way I see it, is that all fireworks have a limit. unless the limit is raised, then I feel all brand are created for different countries and preferences. in reality its your money, spend it on what you want to spend it on. cant talk about the next person when you been buying their product for years and all of a sudden someone gets and upgrade. lol
There is only 500g to work with so if some brands put most of it in the Bang (a loud sound) then they are taking it from some ware else. Color, effects and we all hope not from the lift charge, (danger). If you are a novice or just want a bang (a loud sound), then maybe buy some of those other brands that will be loud, if they go off. But if you are a true pyrotechnic enthusiast or want more than just a loud sound from your cakes and you want a great rounded show that has good bang, the most vivid colors and cool things like 500g cakes that has triple layered affects in every shot (unlike other brands) like this new one from Black Cat Fireworks called "Unrivaled" you will go with Black Cat Fireworks. And also for the safest show go with the one with the Black Cat on the paper because they have the best quality control program out there. I got little box of bottle rockets from black cat and literally 90% of them were Duds! They usually went up like 1inch off the bottle then popped! Or they almost all the time had a good launch but didn't pop! I don't recommend buying black cat bottle rockets, but other products of them are good.
B/c 9.98 is the legal limit and if you exceed it, the product fails. You try to get as close to the limit as possible, but as all of these products are handmade, you need to have an acceptable tolerance level. Otherwise, you risk having your products fail inspection and then you cannot legally export the product from China.
dude every 1 honestly how many times have u had blackcat blow up on the ground(mortar)(bottlerocket) i have never had a blackat blown up on the ground ive only had 1 pack of firecracker blow up right when i threw it
I bought some of those "Generic Fireworks" went i doesn't know anything about firework, and one of those was a rocket and we test and it doesn't shoot straight it shoot circleish and one accidently hit my neighbor's house .
I have to disagree with the bottle rocket part of it I've had regular ones that were black cat along with their Silver Fox product line of bottle rockets you don't really get more bang for your buck I've had silver fox packs that go up but they won't explode at all in fact they're not guaranteed moisture resistance when it comes to humid environments I think black cat oughta be researching better options along with sealing it up from dampness in humid environments in the summer I paid over $8 for a couple of packs of the silver fox and $7 for the regular black cat Rockets and did not get any good results at all other than just a plain old rocket that just goes up and does not pop all the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
