I agree with Scotty on our mis use of 'utility' players.... we have messed up so much talent in the past.... my confidence comes from seeing and understanding how great Damien Willemse has started thriving when his position is now fullback... in terms of Sacha.... keep him at 10.... let him grow in that position and he will be the best. He has BMT. A lot of youngsters need time to adjust but if you get players like Edwill VDM and Sacha making their debut with their confidence, that is solid gold. In my opinion
100% agree with the Andre statements. I am desperate for him to do well but he just does not seem hungry. For a giant like that he should be dominating the midfield.
Great to see you guys back. Watching from NZ, would love to see more from you guys. Completely agree with Scott Gibbs pov on our centres. Haven't replaced Ma'a Nonu and Conrad Smith. Dunno about our squad not "deserving" rwc23. Thought the ABs played excellently when it mattered. Just missed out
Bokke played well considering many top players out. They lost their way after 20 minutes, but played strongly in the 2nd 40. Well played from New Zealand
This was really a good show. In a long time. Bringing the All Blacks and Blues in as well. My dream would be a 2-0 vs Ireland, tough but wins and then a win at the bastion of Springbok Rugby, Ellis Park and a good win, not with 1 point and a red card. Go Bokke!!
All I'm saying is we gonna be cooking come the next world cup 😁😁😁😁😁nevermind the ups and downs we will be ready with the new blood getting lots of experience in the meantime go bokkkkkkkkkkke❤❤❤
I quote Zels about ABs 'lack of grunt upfront' - they have two new props at 6'5" each and the weight to fill the frames - the ABs are going to be very hard to beat this year.
The AB's definitely aren't lacking grunt, Zels as also called the AB's pack a "Powder Puff Pack" last year. Look at the RWC final, that last 20 mins. Anytime there was a scrum, the Springboks were pushed back and dominated. Look at the very last 2 scrums at the very end of the game, the Springbok scrum got demolished. That was with Ox on the field.
@@username-iq1nt If it was an early push, then the ref would have blown the whistle. The AB's timing was spot on, they just owned the SA scrum in those moments. Go back and look at it. Faf delayed putting in the ball the first scrum, because the SA scrum was under pressure. Ref blowed the whistle and it was reset. Second time, Faf put in the ball as quick as possible, because he knew if he didn't, the SA scrum would have conceded a penalty. Giving the AB's a last chance to kick for 3.
There are too many rolling mauls, if it does not work, change the plan and not playing wide at the try line. This is from an elderly Granny. SA Cape Town
It was a lot of new ones that will have to step up to have a Springbok stamp on them.I hope Rassie will put some of the old Boks back into the game for Ireland for I am not sure that this team is able to get on top of Ireland
We have this conversation every year for the past 7years. Kolisi will and should start at 6, PTSD 7, 8 is tricky because of retired Duane and suspended Wiese. My vote goes to Roos. Kwagga and Van Staden on the bench for Loftus.
DDA is just better at rugby than physical freak Andre the Giant. If we play more attacking play, could we see Andre coming on as a sub to create massive line breaks when the opponents are dead tired?
We need a Manie type of flyhalf with slick hands to get the backline moving. Sascha hasn't shown that skill yet, or has he, not sure? Thats why Andre didn't "play" well and why the backline didn't spark. Sascha is a good kicker, and a guy with BMT, why not play him at 12, 13 or 15? A guy like Manie is worth 4 tries with his good passing game, real pity about his kicking though.
Dont you think that DDA shone 'brighter' in the game because the man inside him had changed to a better player in Sascha? I think Andre would have been shown to be better with Sascha than playing outside of Jordan who looked rushed the whole time. Jordan really isn't the greatest 10, and in fact, Sanele is better there. I am ok with Jordan at 12 or 13 where his solid defense is more appreciated. Oh and BTW, the ABs in the WC final were the one team who definitely fronted the Bok front rows. They def have the ability to front SA physically and even in the scrum. That is why its always so close, its not just the great backlines.
Sorry to say, but the two Hendrikse brothers are really not of international standard. At 10 we have Manie, Nohamba and Masuku to concentrate on and at 10 a plethora of players to choose from in Faf, Reinach, Nohamba (again), Vd Berg, Jantjies and (just perhaps) Williams. We really do NOT need another kicking "wonder" at 10, but a 10 and 9 that will continuously keep the defense wondering. I absolutely take my hat off to Pollard for his outstanding composure and kicking towards the end of RWC 2023, but we should not have found ourselves in that position. With a playmaker at 10 (given carte blanche) we should have beaten all of France, England and New Zealand by a few TRIES. Rassie realises that, hence the employment of Tony Brown.
Excellent SA punditry, know now why the you tubers are so one sided. The Bulls 'didn't choke' with 2nd home game while Glasgow, 2 away games lots of travel, altitude, virtually no fans, yet they smashed the Bulls in the 2nd half, but not a choke, just beaten by a better team, when other teams lose a close game, for example Ireland, they 'choked' Got it now, thanks Mark
Guys I enjoy your podcast But you need to put your WP bias aside. You said Sacha was brilliant when he came on… he didn’t do anything special due to the limited time he had. And the way you condensend Fassi’s abilities and performance was disappointing
Who are these “Glasgow Warriors”? Are they a South African team? I’m guessing they are considering their coach is a South African, their captain is a South African and their MotM was a South African.
@@jacquescoetzee47The Captain of the Warriors was born in South Africa but is a fully fledged Scotland international MoM was Matt Fagerson is a Scottish international along with his brother Zander. Zander Fagerson has played 3x80 minutes versus Stormers, Munster and the Bulls...
Fassi been unfairly treated had a great game taking every high ball, assisted in both tries coming into the line, give the guy a proper chance and put your provincialism aside
That Sharks - Auckland final all those years ago, was reffed by Wayne Ericsson. He screwed the Sharks from the first whistle. Bloody Aussie bastard. Even though I was young back then, I knew something stank.
Keo suffering from some level of trauma when he sees Esterhuizen.... Please Keo, like Tappe Henning excused himself from blowing Bulls games, please excuse yourself from commenting on the Esterhuizen/DDA debate - you're biased, own it. Fyi: Love the show, was a great addition to the RWC, hope this becomes a fixture during the international season!
