i literally started crying when they announce that brewster is coming back. he is my favorite and i considered him my best friend on wild world. i understand that new players may not like him or find him boring, but the roost has always been a very relaxing place. yesterday i was trying to explain to my friends that are non animal crossing fans and now with your video i can give them a better answer. i'm just a little disappointed that he doesn't get his own place outside of the museum, but non the less i'm hapy he is back. sorry for my broken english, is not my first language.
I’m a new player who started with New Horizons When I saw the old special characters who never made it in here, i felt kinda sad that I would never experience what the older players did I’m actually pretty excited to meet him now :D
To me, Brewster and The Roost represent the very heart and soul of the original Animal Crossing games, a place to relax and escape from the burdens and loneliness of real life, as well as build relationships and learn about the villagers. So I couldn't be happier that he's finally returning after so long.
Brewster represents to me, is having a friendship with someone exactly like me, actually cares and keeps me calm when I’m paranoid 😁❤️ You gotta love him

Tbh decorations and aesthetics have been a thing since new leaf, especially with having the most perfect and beautiful dream address, so let’s not pretend that’s a new horizons exclusive thing, especially with how common hacked island where to achieve the most beautiful aesthetic.
@@jade4025 nobody said it was exclusive to new horizons 😊 i agree with you, the whole ‘making your town super aesthetic’ thing definitely became more prevalent in new leaf, but it for sure wasn’t to the extent it is now with new horizons; where the whole game itself seems to solely focus on that aspect. sometimes i miss how in the old games it didn’t feel like i was in competition with everyone else on the Internet to have the most pretty island, & there wasn’t as many in the community comparing their islands & feeling upset over it. it was just a much simpler time of the game where there was less comparison, competition & feeling like your island isn’t good enough. i think that’s what antonella was saying in their comment too~ 💕

That and I rly don’t like this idea of hating “ugly” villagers thats been in the community for awhile, I think it’s like that cuz the personalities really got nerfed in new horizons so people focus more on looks than anything. I like to decorate my island too but it makes me feel sad seeing people get upset that they’re island isn’t “”aesthetic”” or “”pretty”” enough, it should be whats the most fun for you to do on your island.
@@jade4025 yes i completely agree!! it’s such a shame. a lot of the “ugly” villagers are so special to me bc of funny & heartwarming interactions i’ve had with them in previous games. i’m hoping they’ll update the villagers personalities so that more players can get that same experience & give more villagers a chance! ☺️💕
The fact that this is an entire direct makes me think they'll fix a lot of the issues the community has with the game. Now that the holidays are out of the way maybe they'll focus on gameplay. The roost alone fixes a lot of issues, and seeing that there's data to suggest that villagers will be able to visit our houses (this is data is so complete that someone was able to mod the feature into the game)...Maybe they'll add some more soul into the game with a 2.0 update soon.
I really hope so. New Horizons is more of a design/decoration focused game, but the old games had more dialogue variety balance. The villagers had more depth and interests. I personally prefer more gameplay focused things, so having more dialogue options would be amazing.
In my mind, I never suspected they were just DONE with the game. That would be a horrible financial choice. When they released that teaser, sure, I screamed like a pig, but I wasn't too surprised. So glad he's returning with other features hopefully too!
They said from the beginning they were going to continue to update it for at least the first three years, so you don’t have to worry about if they are done :-)
This was a great take! I'm so excited for Brewster, but also because they have enough new content for an entire direct! Not just a trailer, a whole direct! I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much, but this is exactly what the community needed, if but a bit late.
I cried when i heard the roost music, I used to stay there a lot in wild world as it felt so comforting which is what animal crossing means to me as it was only place I could escape too. I'm so happy he's going to be returning and now it feels like it really is an animal crossing game to me. I hope new players find the same serene support I did many years ago from brewster ❤️
I am literally crying. I listened to you and the tears just started to swell up because you spoke really from my heart. This is what makes Brewster and so much about AC so special and as much as I adore and love New Horizons, the game lost a bit of that magic through all the cuts that were made to NPCs. I can't wait for Brewster to finally be back and go there to drink a coffee and meet friends. Thank you for this video. It really touched me.

My thoughts As my first game of animal crossing being ACNH, I completely understand why Brewster is so important to old players, thank you for clearing this up Lou Lou! And I thought that the roost was going to have a building but I prefer it in the museum because of Brewster and blathers friendship, I’m so excited to experience the roost for the first time. I also think the Celeste may have a place in a museum too on the right side upstairs. I hope that Brewsters dialogue is good, and I love the niece idea!
I'm not really much of a old player but I played New Leaf as my first game. Ask the same question about brewster but then I realize he was a public works project in new leaf, but I never unlocked him... However, I still do understand why he might be important to you guys.
This genuinely makes me want to cry in a good way, when I was little my mom and I would play wild world together on our pink ds and I would always go to the roost and just listen to the music that plays in there. It was kinda my favorite part about the game. My mother passed away years ago and I just listened to the song after forgetting about it for a while and it has never felt so comforting, like Shes there listening with me, and now to have it in new horizons I can only imagine how peaceful it will be again. I’m sure my mother would be happy to have him back too haha :)

thanks. this is honestly my first game. I hope to enjoy Brewster as well. he sounds so wholesome and I'll probably be in the roost a lot once it's in the game. I really appreciate those who have had the chance to play all the games teaching us newbies about all the old NPCs and such. As a New Leaf player, Brewster is someone who offers a calm escape from all my duties. He doesn't need me to pay off loans, he doesn't need public works projects, he doesn't ask for favors...He just appreciates me stopping by and sharing a good cup of coffee with him. And it's fun helping out in his shop. He gives so much and asks so little. He is calm and visiting his Cafe is a chance to unwind each day. I hope New Horizon players come to appreciate Brewster. Also, seeing how other characters like their coffee adds a little depth to them, so Brewster's presence makes the game feel a little more real, in that sense. And what sort of top-tier town would be complete without a Cafe, anyway? 😄❤
Omggg I screamed yesterday when I was watching the Nintendo Direct! And my husband was like "what happened!!!?" "Brewster is comming back to ACNH!!!" I’m so glad they added Brewster. I got bored of a new Horizons and tried the other games and have been loving New Leaf and Wild World I can’t wait to see Brewster in New Horizons
I love this video so much and agree completely! You're so right when you say Brewster embodies the spirit of old animal crossing- it's like a second home of sorts. Newer players have only experienced New Horizons, which is a bit soulless compared to the other ones. I wonder if they see it as a decoration game with the characters as a bonus? But really, I hope that with this new update, they'll introduce more characters and bring back a part of that soul and sense of community that was in the other games. I really want the newer players to get to feel this, the special element that can almost change your life. I'll never forget or get over my love for Animal Crossing, so I hope this new update will give newer players the same feeling too :0
As a new player to the series, I wasn't just looking to decorate (although I enjoy it!) I too want a connection with the villagers and NPC's, and want so much more dailies to do. It gets so repetitive. I just wish there was....more. I've got millions of bells and nothing to buy, loads of NM and nothing to buy with them either! Not much point in diving, as I've got all the Pascale DIY's etc 🤷🏼♀️. The whole game just needs more! Lol
I cannot wait for him to be back, I really missed him so much, he’s the sweetest man. I’m also hoping since we got some of the food items villagers had from the august fireworks, that we might be able to get some more from his cafe! I’d love to have the little donuts the other villagers have, and it’d really suit the coffee shop!

This game isn’t supposed to be about convenience, however if you’re playing it like it’s Sims, I can see why you’d be barking for different things like bulk crafting. This franchise has absolutely been about the SIMPLE THINGS! I have so much fun going back to old games because while there’s not much to do, it slows me down. You put it perfectly. Thank you💕✨
I used to play animal crossing wild world with my brother, whenever we went to roost, my brother would call Brewster an angry pigeon 😂 I can’t wait to do that in new horizons, I just hope KK slider can preform on Saturdays 💕

I hope Nintendo brings back all the old mechanics you mentioned, like Gyroid storage and working at the Roost! But mostly I’m just excited to see Brewster again and relax in the cafe with a hot cup of coffee!
New Horizon is my first Animal Crossing game, but when I hear people talk about past games, I just feel so envious. When they announced Brewster, while I didn't have the nostalgic feelings toward him, I was just so happy that there was new content and another special character. Watching this has made me even more excited!
To me Brewster was always the soul of ACWW. All advertisements on TV back then showed the player drinking coffee and idk why it always seemed instantly nostalgic to me even before knowing him.
Much like light novels, Brewster and Sable offered a story-telling Easter egg to garner a genuine connection to characters. With acnh’s lack of diverse dialogue and content in general, it’s missing the silly whimsical fun that the earlier games had. Embellishment for the sake of embellishment
I work at a restaurant and I also make coffee in the restaurant that I work at. I have personally only played new horizons but the way you described Brewster reminds me of some older customers that I meet at work. He feels kind of like a Grandpa if you ask me I personally can’t wait to meet him for for the first time. I was one of those players who didn’t understand the hype about him simply because I didn’t know anything about him. Thanks to your video and his return I just my start playing animal crossing again.
I'm so glad I came across this video because I was thinking the same thing. It's not just Brewster we wanted, we wanted what he represented to so many of us. I remember sometimes when I was done playing City Folk I would go to the roost, have my coffee, and let my character sit there while I doodled in my sketchbook. In New Leaf whenever villagers would comment on how I looked tired I took that as my queue to go visit Brewster and get some coffee. While my character relaxed I would sometimes rest my eyes or go get a snack. So far in New Horizons, I've just been running back to my house to sit in a chair whenever I need a break. It's not the same.
Brewster saved my life. I truly mean that. Having the escape from real life and a routine of always getting a cup of coffee every day meant so much to me as a child. I’m so happy he’s back 💛
I haven’t played in 6 months, I really do love animal crossing new horizons but for some reason I was way more addicted to city folk and new leaf more, Im restarting my island and hopefully it will make me addicted again especially when Brewster returns and the animal crossing direct coming soon maybe they will announce multiplayer update like in new leaf!

as someone who never played the previous games because ac wasnt popular in my country, i got SO excited when i saw brewster is gonna be added. watching clips of the older game made him feel like he was a part of the ac i know (acnh) and describing him as an escape or the heart & soul of ac makes perfect sense♥

I've played New Leaf, then Wild World, Happy Home Designer, and lastly New Horizons. I have never met Brewster before, but even then I was SO excited to meet him for some reason... I was also really sad about the things that New Horizons was missing, but I have still loved it ever since I first got it! (Hilariously enough I played it on Easter my first day, so... that happened...)
Growing up in an abusive household, going to the roost for coffees and a performance from kk slider is what I lived for. I’m so happy he’s coming back but I just hope he’ll be back BEFORE Halloween but it doesn’t look like that will happen….
Brewster has always felt like that chill uncle that everyone wants that I actually HAD for most of my life. He left us around the time I got into Animal Crossing, so I became attached quickly. I'm so happy they're bringing him back.
I played Animal Crossing since 2005 and I missed Brewster soo much, especially since he always was my favourite character together with Blathers, so I'm really happy they'll bring him back. I was really surprised, that he wasn't in the game from the start of the launch date, and awaited him to be put in the game ever since. He's just such a sweet character and also no track can top the music in The Roost, at least not for me. Thank you for taking the time to inform the AC-Community how different Animal Crossing was in the beginning and how sacred Brewster is to us long-time players and how important it is to finally bring him back. I really don't understand why people are even bothered by him, he's just the best.
Animal crossing new horizons is my first ever animal crossing game now I LOVE Brewster and when I say I LOVE Brewster I really do I’ve never met him but I’ve seen so many clips and people talk about him I’ve never doubted Brewster and I don’t know how people could You do an great on why you love Brewster!

I’m so happy Brewster is coming backk (: as mentioned I had stopped play anch for months but yesterday after seeing the direct I restarted my island ‘enoki isle’ and intend to not time travel and just chill! you described our need to see brewster again so well, thank you! as a kid i didn't even know he existed but when i got the roost in my acnl town in 2020, i was obsessed with him and tried to get the part time job but deleted my town.. now in new horizons i thought he'dget an "update" but i hoped to see him again so i could experience working for/with him in new horizons! i hope gyroids will come back, they used to be scary for me when i was younger but not having them around in new horizons is weird. anyways, i hope i didn't make too many mistakes while writing this and i'm aboslutely excited to see him again!
I remember I always had a hard time in school because of a chronic illness I have called EDS, and on days I couldn’t go into school I felt miserable, lots of people would say I was faking it to get out of school and it honestly sucked haha because I struggle so much with it. On days like that I would just sit in the roost and listen to the music after having my coffee and it would just feel like one big hug, like “it’s going to be okay, this pigeon gives you nice coffee, so your not that alone after all”. Don’t know if that’s kinda dumb, but the roost brings me some comforting memories💓

New Horizons was my first animal crossing game besides Pocket Camp (which also doesn't have brewster) but I was still just as upset he wasn't there because my friend told me that he was Blathers' husband and I couldn't believe that Blathers would move to a new place without him?? I'm glad he's here now :)
I'm excited for Brewsters cafe coming back reminds me a bit of some sad things. Because I would play wild world, and go to the cafe just to stay away from all the bad things happening and I felt as Brewster was protecting me a lot of the times. Taking away the mean scary stuff happening around me and making me a nice coffee while I just calmed down with him in so happy ;-;

Getting coffee with Brewster was always my favorite thing (wild world specifically), and I always found it so relaxing, so I really hope this update emulates that feeling.

I like the way you explained why Brewster is an important part of the game. I never really understood until you explained it the way you did. My first game was new leaf so my attachment to Brewster isn’t that tight but I loved that bird. When I finished my daily activities and got a little bored, the roost was the “mini game” that gave me a boost (now getting re-tail in new horizons would be cool so I could upsell my stuff to unsuspecting villagers😈)
ACNH is my first AC game, so I didn't have much opinion on the pigeon...but WOW what an emotional and moving video! My 6 year old daughter asked me if the island on our second switch could, "Not be changed, and just be for playing." Your video really helped me understand what she meant!
i just got my first nintendo switch a week ago, and bought animal crossing for my first game. the first thing i did was rush my museum so i can hang with brewster and give him gyroids, but there was no roost and gyroids. then the direct happened. :D

This is so interesting. As a new player, I never got to see it in a sort of escapism because of the social media posts I kept seeing. I did notice ACNH quite became all about the aesthetics, 5-star island layouts, and stuff. Thank you for pointing that out, I haven't played in a long time and I'm going to try again but with a different perspective.

Animal crossing new horizons is my first animal crossing game. But after enjoying new horizons I went and played some of the older games. Wild world and New Leaf. I totally understand the fans that have wanted Brewster back in the game. I'm actually excited that he's being added. So yeah, coffee pigeon is rad.

Acnh is my first animal crossing game I ever played. However seeing this video I can understand why veteran players appreciate Brewster so much. Overall the relaxing Cafe scene is aesthetically pleasing.
