I love SN95s. I just bought my second one a few days ago (97 GT Convertible with a 5-Speed) and have been enjoying tossing it around. I used to have an 09 GT500 and while I still think that it was the better car, I enjoy how much more carefree you can be tossing around a $4,800 V8 than a $30,000 one.

Thank you so much for clarifying that the new edge mustangs are SN95s too. For some reason, in the last few years, there seems to be a lot of younger people who believe that SN95s are ONLY the round bodies. No idea who started this misinformation, but thank you for attempting to correct it.
@shanetobin4943
@shanetobin4943 Год назад
Ford, Ford started it. As he said 99-04 are commonly known as a new edge. Ford called it a new edge, cjs and lmr calls it a new edge....literally everyone calls them new edges. I dont know why your thanking them. He literally said it's commonly known as a new edge but still technically in the sn95 family.....so why aren't you correcting CJ's and LMR when they say new edge instead of new edge sn95?
@UmmYeahOk
@UmmYeahOk Год назад
@@shanetobin4943 The ONLY person that I have ever corrected in this video was you, when you said “new edge > SN95.” CJ Pony Parts LITERALLY stated that new edges were also SN95s. Calling 99-04 “new edges” isn’t wrong. Calling 94-98 “SN95s” isn’t wrong either. They technically are, as are new edges. But any time you act like SN95s are 94-98 and new edges are 99-04 in the same sentence, it makes it look like ONLY 94-98 are SN95, which may be why there literally are people out there that think this, because like you, they made the term appear exclusive. I have not seen Ford, CJ Pony Parts, or even LMR refer to SN95s as exclusively being the 94-98 round body mustangs. They may call the 99-04 new edges, which has been done since the cars were new, but never ever acted like SN95s were exclusively 94-98. But I’ve seen a lot of clueless individuals in the last year act like they were, and your other comment, no matter what you may have thought in your head when you posted, made them look exclusively SN95, BECAUSE you differentiated SN95s from new edges. You could have said “new edge SN95s > round body SN95” or “99-04 SN95s > 94-98 SN95s” but you didn’t. “New edge > SN95” is what you posted. If that is not what you meant, it was a typo, and you could have edited it, but no. You are defending it, which is strange because you AGREE with me that new edges are SN95s. CJ Pony Parts, LMR, Ford… …anyone who professionally knows these cars don’t sort 94-98 into SN95 and 99-04 into new edge. If they sort anything into “SN95,” it’s both body styles. If they want to differentiate the two, AND use terms like “new edge” instead of years, they would sort the 94-98 into “round body.”
@shanetobin4943
@shanetobin4943 Год назад
@@UmmYeahOk you sir, should not be trying to correcting anyone. I apologize if I said "new edge > sn95" rather than "new edge > early sn95". What kind of grown man gets so triggered by technicalities when literally anyone else reading this understands what im saying?

Funny you mentioned people hated every new Mustang and then they grew on most people, I have to admit I’m one of those people. When I first saw the pics of these back in 1992, I thought they resembled a Toyota celica of the time, no offense to you SN95 guys that have snapped these up and kept after them. I now see them as classics just like most of us. I’ve owned a few Foxes all coupes, and still remember in 2013 seeing the S550 on an old forum I was on at the time (huh remember forums those were the days) anyway saw the S550 and fell in love. I’ve had my 2015 GT since it was new, but miss the older cars sure my S550 is modified and really fast, but there’s definitely something about the Fox body cars that I miss, but now that a nice Fox cost as much as my used s550 maybe an SN95 is gonna scratch the itch.

When it comes to building both the 4v only needs forged rods and pistons to reach 700 whp w forced induction. Stock block, stock crank, stock heads, stock cams, etc. Whereas the pushrod can't even reach those levels safely without all of the above, an aftermarket block, forged crank, plus heads cam intake. The 4v needs far less mods to achieve the same or better results. 4v ftw.

When I was in middle school I saw SN-95'S for days and my first & only Mustang so far was a new edge convertible. That thing was so much fun despite its V6 and automatic transmission. Would love to score a V8 but with gas prices, I wonder how long I could keep one.

96-98 GTs with manual and 3.73 or so get really decent mpgs. I was managing around 26 highway. 98 that’s lowered, gears, tubular lower control arms, upgraded shifter base with stock handle and knob.
@midnight347
@midnight347 Год назад
They barely use more fuel than the v6 especially if it's an auto v6 a manual v8 will get decent mpg. Everyone always thinks because it's a v8 it's gonna use like 3x more fuel this isn't 1960 lol. My 07 gt500 is modified has a gen3r blower pushing 740/732 to the tire thru fat drag radial (soak up power on dyno) and 4.10 (also soak up power compared to 3.31 stock gear) and I average 12-14 mpg and have plenty of fun and never drive it for mpgs lol. I can knock down 20 at 70 on the freeway like I said with 4.10 gear. That is very good for what it is. Stock v8s get a decent bit better I used to averaged 17-18 mpg in my old fox and sn that had v8 manual...you can get 25+ on the highway with stock gears my fbo tuned 03 mach with stock 3.55 knocked down 27 mpg highway at 70 and it was prob pushing over 300 rwhp.

The early s197 was also raw and primitive compared to modern stangs just one simple push of a button turns off traction just like later new edges. They can be had for good deals too. Not just 3v but 07-09 gt500. I picked up an 07 for 16500 in 2020. Not realistic in today's market but I've seen 100k mile ones for low 20s and 70k mile one for 25k. The rust where the paint came off makes them look like salvage cars. But to call them classics? Ah, no. Nothing in 80's or even 70's are classics to me. Maybe if your a teenager and born after 2000 but no. My 15yr doesn't call them classics. My kids know the difference between classic 60's muscle, and older antiques. And you def cannot pull $10k for a '98 Mustang. Even in pristine condition. And if you spend that much on buying a stock one, your special.

The car in the background is the same one you used to do a 1.5" wheel spacer install video. Looks like there's potential for the tire to contact the fender lip?? My 94 Cobra is still bone stock at 68,000 (including ride height) with the orig 17x8 wheels like this one, but I sure would like to push those rear wheels out a little like your "video" car here. If I bought 1" or 1.25" spacers will I have to shorten the studs? Or if I bought the 1.5" does that require rolling the fender lips- which is a no=no for me? Tires are 245/45. Please LMK, would like to get these on the way to SW PA.

My mom has a 95 cobra in mint condition and these cars are not going up in value at all hear we are almost 30 years later and they still aren't worth anything alot of people don't like these cars 😕 will they ever be worth anything time will tell just how much more

The values are doing fine. Foxes haven't been worth that much for that long. The last 10 years they've seen value. These are doing just fine for their age and are next on the list to start costing more and more.

They are kind of under powered cars stock so racing isn’t much fun for me but man can these things spin their tires, donut and burnout machines! Forgot to mention that the car is deep violet purple with black leather interior and it’s a 5spd aswell. Thing is badass

I love that he’s just casually using a very rare 95 convertible hardtop cobra to talk about how cheap and common they are. He discusses owning one as a convertible without making it super obvious that he is sitting in front of one. It’s very possible that car really IS $10k, but only because of what it truly is. Otherwise, it would be cheaper. Edit: I didn’t see his other videos where he has the top down and mentions the rarity until after my comment. I’m not removing what I said though because I feel like many people are like me and may have only seen this one video where he doesn’t make a big deal since it’s about how all SN95s are special, not just his

We often just use what we have for background on some of these videos. That 95 is the only SN95 we currently have in the garage so we used it despite it not being the best example of a common SN-95.

Now even I would want a 1996 cobra I used to not like the sn95 but one night I dreamed about one and thought if the price is right even I’d want one they grew on me the only way I’d be able to afford a 10,000 dollar one is if I could finance one but if I could learn mechanics from someone I’d build one up with a 7.3l Godzilla in it and have the worlds fastest and most powerful street car with programmable turbos so I can choose my hp I’d want it on the street hp to be 1440 hp but on the drag strip set it on kill to 3000hp and absolutely murder the other cars and then drive it home like nothing ever happened I would never ls swap it I would keep it real with the brand and besides the 7.3l has already made history with it’s performance in another year there will be a ton of upgrades for it so it can handle unbelievable amounts of power it will outsell the ls big time hopefully I can find someone to teach me mechanics so I can build the ultimate street legal drag racing car it would be a sight to see at car shows I would love to be able to join the Mustang club of Jacksonville so Mustang guys and gals can drool on my ride I would want it to make it’s debute on past time in Gainesville and make history then everyone will be extremely excited to see it at car shows and when I take off from the show I would show off it’s amazing power it would be I sight to see hopefully someday I’ll make that dream come true hopefully I’m not sure if it will happen but hopefully i might get lucky one day and make it happen you never know

@@cjponyparts Yes, +1 on the tucked OEM wheels. But here at your video- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FJQRVu-4puc.html - 2:10 mark you start with the OEM wheel and say 1.5" spacers, but end up installing the Cobra R type. Confused. Why it's important is what's left of the studs as you can see in this other video at the 3:32 mark with 1" spacers- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-etUhAK68_J0.html -. The OEM 94-97 wheel "pockets" on the back face are nowhere near as deep as the Cobra R type. No wanting to be a pain, thought you could shed some light since you've been there and done that.

if you do buy a higher performance version. the 4.6 GT is a ho_hum performer. nice to drive but it will quickly become boring. i dont think the later one with the pi heads are that much better in performance. very expensive to modify when you compare the prices to only get around 300 hp without a supercharger or turbo.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they even want to slow down all the gas pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.

@@fortheloveofnoise9298 no there's no "catch" you just gotta look for deals and don't pay the insane overpriced bullshit. You might have to drive little to get a good price. I got an 07 gt500 for 16500 in 2020 with 108k on it. Very clean and clean title. It had couple minor issues, broken park brake cable, bad tie rod but was otherwise nice. Just don't be scared of a few miles if it's been taken care of (you can tell) and don't be picky looking for something super low mile and prestine. Doesn't have to be 100% perfect car.
