I love Adrian and not only from the TV because she says it is not real but the type of information I get that will be beneficial when I move to France. If I can afford her in the future, I might use her service. About this cafe sessions you guys do, I wish you could pass a microphone around so we can hear what others have experienced since we hear only half of what is going on. I love this sessions so keep up the good work (The Earful Tower!).
I enjoy your videos but would like to comment that the audio quality is often poor, which is a shame........ I couldn't hear Adrian very well on your walk together in the Marais and again on this one.....
This is a nice/useful chat. She was a bit annoying when she discussed what is and is not "central." She said the close-in parts of the 11th are not central because "there are 20 districts and this is 11, so this is beyond the half mark, right, okay...Logic!" I'm afraid geography trumps logic in this case. Still, this is a conversation to fuel some daydreams!
There is MLS in France. Don’t know why this myth keeps being repeated. France is not a good place to move to. Health care is difficult, renting is difficult, buying requires high extra fees. Many people return after living there. Many videos with returning expats who found France difficult and unpleasant. Safety net is hardly available to expats. This video is full of inaccuracies. You are taxed on any real estate investments overseas. Health care is getting more difficult to find.
I think this woman is a bit out of touch with what younger people are interested in in Paris. I hate the 6th/7th/etc. It's full of boring fancy old people like herself. To me, the most appealing areas are 10e, 19e, 11e... But I guess different strokes eh.
Also, I *hugely* doubt that the most expensive areas will continue to grow at 10%/year moving forward. They'll get 4-5% if you're lucky. Although she is doing a great job promoting foreign investors to keep propping up that bubble. I hope all these rich investors are taking a big hit from Covid right now on their airbnb-only empty flats...
She has made a pretty good living out of knowing how to match someone's needs and lifestyle with an arrondissement and apartment. And she is correct in that Paris real estate is pretty risk free. Just like Manhattan or certain areas of Beverly Hills, prices may dip at times, but it always holds its value and then some. As long as you are in it for the long haul, it will only go up in value.
I don't she's boring herself, and she lives in the Marais. But yes, I agree that 6th/7th/etc. are for a very certain clientèle and not a good fit for plenty of folks. I lived in the 12th and loved it - the 5th or 6th would've been a terrible fit for me.
