Why BUY the Sony VITA?

If i were sony i would relaunch the Vita. it still has a great form factor and awesome specs. Release more colors for the slim, drop the price to $149 and drop the memory cards price by 50%. There's no reason to abandon the Vita. give incentives for more Japanese developers to translate games for the west. Invite AAA publishers to port last gen PS2/PS3 era games to the Vita and release some exclusives. Seriously you have this great handheld that can do awesome remote play with the PS4 with a little investment the vita can catch on.

The reason I bought a Vita was Persona 4 Golden. Essentially, take one of the best JRPGs ever made, and make it even better by adding even more content, making it true widescreen, packing in a ton of extras and features, and making the whole thing portable so you can play P4 anywhere. Persona 4 Golden is so good that even if it's the only game you buy, you'll still be satisfied with the purchase of the system.

I bought a vita for 3 reasons: 1. The best versions of Disgaea 3 and 4 2. The entire Sly series on the go 3. Portable Ratchet and Clank Up your Arsenal

I didn't mention the Playstation TV in the video because I just got one TODAY during a one-day sale for $39. I'm very curious to how Vita games will play on a big HDTV!

The one MAJOR FLAW with this system, and it is MAJOR, is the prices of the memory cards/sticks, as you mentioned. I do believe that this was the one thing that held people back from purchasing the system. Oh, plus the fact that having created the system Sony then failed to support it in any way. I have the slim version of the Vita, with only a few games for it. I flatly refuse to purchase a memory card with enough space to enable me to download more games, simply because of the prices of the cards.

The Vita is the best emulator System ever with the Henkaku jailbreak! It plays nearly every classic game system perfectly!

Ps vita is very underrated, it has amazing console like quality games, and it has some great RPGs.

For the best remote play on PS4: turn on WIFI on your VITA, but don't connect to your router (or delete saved password). Pair both devices and PS4 will connect to VITA bypassing the router and the lag will be smallest as possible.

I’ve had a vita since 2014, I love the system, I recently swapped out my slim model for the original model and I could not be happier. It has a way better screen as said by mjr in the video and I’ve soft modded it so I can get whatever games I want. With vita games getting so expensive I think it’s a great route to take

Vita is awesome system and it has awesome games. I do also love to play PSP games on Vita. They look better and thanks to second analog stick it's more confortable to play some games such as The 3rd Birthday (second analog moves camera around). You SHOULD buy: -Killzone Mercenary (one of best FPS games in like last 8 years or so) -Ys for the Vita -Persona 4 golden

one thing that stops me from buying it is the expensive memory card. damn that thing is even more overpriced than a new macbook or apple watch.

Rayman Legends on Vita is flawless. It was my number one game of 2013.

As a big handheld player, it's nice to get great indie games like Proteus or Hotline Miami on the Vita. Tons of great ports and crossbuy stuff. Sadly, not a lot of original content though. That's my biggest gripe about the Vita, but all in all, I like it!

In my opinion, The Vita is the best made handheld gaming console ever. Too bad it wasn't successful like the 3ds. Imagine games talor made for it like an Infamous or God of War. Maybe another Vita Uncharted game? It has so much potential. I really hope Sony eventually releases another handheld and it's very successful, because It's such a shame the Vita isn't more utilized.

Games you give a try if you haven't already Ragnarok Odyssey Ace, Soul Sacrifice Delta, Toukiden Kiwami, Freedom Wars, Ys: Memories of Celceta Games coming out you should keep an eye on The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel, Tokyo Xanadu, Dragon Quest Heroes 2, Samurai Warriors 4-ll, Ys (2016).

I honestly had high expectations for the Vita, being a big fan of the PSP, I had about 7 different PSPs lol, I was hoping the Vita would pick up on new games, but it has been turned down by a lot of the big game developers. so now all we're left with is an expensive remote for a ps4, or... well it's not good for music or video really, but i am not a fan of JRPGs or any of that anime stuff. I mostly like action, adventure games, or racing. but those aren't very common anymore. I still love the Vita, but I wish they'd do something with it, I had mine homebrew enabled for a bit. and yes, the memory cards are way too pricey for what they are.

If it played my PSP discs then I would own one in a heartbeat.

I bought a Vita last year, worked like a charm for 24 hours. No problems, games worked, awesome. Next day, the screen wouldn't turn on anymore. But the sound still worked, I wonder if they maybe dropped it and sold it quickly? Idk but it was really sad. Luckily I got a new (used) vita from my boyfriend this week!

I love having Final Fantasy 7, 8, 9, and the original tactics AND legend of dragoon....all on my Vita! so great to be able to take those with me

These are all 9-10 out of 10: -Persona 4 Golden -Danganronpa -Danganronpa 2 -Steins Gate -Steins Gate Zero -The Nonary Games -Zero Time Dilemna -Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD -PS1 classics like FFVII, FFIX, FFVIII, FF Tactics, Xenogears, Chrono Cross -The PSP masterpiece Persona 3 Portable -Rayman Legends Ones that are super good but not instant classics: -Lumines Electric Symphony -Danganronpa Despair Girls -Child of Light -Gravity Rush -Persona 4: Dancing All night There are countless others that are a lot of fun, but those stand out. The Vita has a lot of good games. I'd say as much as the 3DS.

I've had my Vita since 2013 and have not regret buying it. I absolutely love it and play it more than my 3DS. In fact my 3DS is pretty much collecting dust and my Vita is the handheld I go to simply because it caters more to my taste. I adore the Vita and the fact I can use it for web browsing and Skype as well as gaming so for me it works as a tablet as well. The only and I mean the ONLY downside I can actually think of IS the price point of the memory cards and such but having a 32GB card for instance is worth the money. Hm metal jesus did you pick up , muramasa demon blade , Ys celeceta , soul sacrifice and the higher res version of Virtua last reward? (its like danganronpa but more down to earth and less crazy?) Lastly did you try Senran Kagura shinobi versus? Its like a combo of Dead or alive and Dynasty warriors with rpgs elements). Cool video dude , its def a underrated system when atlus has a psn psp game sale im there all the personas and hexzy force for 5 bucks totally worth it.

Only if Sony wasn't so greedy when it comes to SD card, then PS Vita would have a different outlook today. Other than that, it does have some limitations on its specifications but it works well for most part.

PS Vita's remote play is ridiculously powerful. Last time I tried to connect my PS vita to my office's PS4, and it actually went over the Internet and turned on my home PS4 and connected to it. Hence, as long as your PS4 and PS vita are connected to the Internet, you can do remote play.

Six years later I buy a Vita, well actually right now I'm waiting for it to arrive TOMORROW!!! I'm actually getting excited, NO LIE! The main reason for me to get one now is that I want to play PS4 remotely without having to mess with disconnecting and reconnecting my controller from the console to the computer, and it's like having a cute little Playstation in your pocket!!! something to consider about the vita from a collecting standpoint, is that many of the digital only games could wind up becoming extremely rare if the store service for the vita eventually gets shut down. if your device has one of those games, and it becomes desirable years down the road, it might make your vita skyrocket in value. just a theory though, don't go out panic buying vitas just cause i pointed this out. it's entirely possible that nobody will ever care about any digital games on vita. either way i think you should wait until next generation or later to buy one, cause it will go way down in price after the new consoles get released in 2017.

It's a bit ironic that they created the propriety SD cards to top piracy but then thought "Lets jack the price up of them as well. That won't make people buy knock of SD cards instead". Sony really are idiots. I'd love to know what goes through the managements heads. Surely someone there should be saying "Hang on. If we lower the price of our SD cards inline with normal SD cards then we'll sell loads of them. More people will then by the Vita and more people will purchase the digital games. We make more money." Odd.

I bought the PS Vita Slim today, and in my opinion, I think it's nicer than the regular PS Vita. It's lightweight and readjusted back grip makes it so much comfortable to hold on to. It's true that the screen for the original PS Vita is more colorful, but the screen for the Slim is still really good. I wouldn't let that determine whether or not to get the slim model. As for the games, I have Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Ultimate Marvel versus Capcom 3, Rayman Origins, Wipeout 2048, Little Big Planet, Mortal Kombat, Persona 4: Gold, Gravity Rush, Muramasa: Rebirth, and Dragon's Crown. They are all fantastic games, and I would recommend them. Well, for Mortal Kombat, I would recommend it on the Vita, if you are big into portable fighters. The graphics have been given a bit of a downgrade, but it plays like the console versions. I plan on buying Rayman Legends, Killzone: Mercenary, Tearaway, and Child of Light. Oh, and there's Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. That game looks really interesting.

Yes buy a legacy system with an $80 memory card lol. But really I've been a vita owner since it came out and yes there's some great games but I'm still a little sour about the lack of support it got. I mean games like uncharted golden abyss and gravity rush were so fuckin awesome and I wish there were more games like that. However I did just pick up freedom wars so I'm not completely giving up on it yet.

I have to say the Vita is a failure, due to the overpriced memory cards and the fact is Sony is abandoning 1st party software for it. Let's face it. The Vita cards are overpriced (64GB Vita are $100 while the 64GB SD cards are like $30). Yea, the remote play is good, but why not Sony just release a streaming device.

I highly advice to get the 999 games Series.The first one 999 (9 Hours, 9 persons, 9 doors) Is available on the DS, while the second game (Zero Escape :virtue reward) is on the vita. Those are puzzle survival games. With different endings depending on the decisions you make on your way. Highly recommended.

Vita retail in the UK is pretty much dead (in stores).

I love the Vita. It's probably has the most consistent release of games out there (excluding PC). It's like having a portable Steambox. It definitely started as a portable, AAA game focused machine to a more indie centric portable. The good thing about that is that the games are incredibly cheap compared to other consoles and a lot of them are cross-buy and cross play with PS4 titles (the vita version is often my favorite). I would recommend playing: Persona 4: Golden (a JRPG set in Modern Japan. You play as high school teenagers who try and solve a murder mystery in an alternate dimension. Vitas best game!) Uncharted:Golden Abyss (the first and only Uncharted portable title. One of thes best examples of the Vitas power. This game plays just like its console counterparts. Definitely a must-have) Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc- (Interactive visual novel, murder mystery...great if you are a fan of the Ace Attorney games on DS) Freedom Wars- (Vita's last major AAA game and what a game! An action JRPG that is very similar to the Monster Hunter series, but it takes place in a desolate, future dystopia. Really great combat and extremely stylish! It's also 4 player co-op!!!!) Rainbow Moon - (An awesome old school inspired JRPG. Great for fans of 16-bit rpgs. It's also crossbuy) (Guacamelee: probably one of Vita's best. It's an awesome 2D Metroidvania style game with a Mexican luchador aesthetic. Absolutely stunning game.) Helldivers ( a twin stick, 4 player coop loot shooter. It's basically the portable version of Destiny!!) Super Stardust Delta (the perfect blend of classic gameplay with a modern twist. This twin stick, arcade shooter is both challenging yet rewarding. A must own for all classic game fans)

Remote play makes no sense to me unless you can take it anywhere. Why would you play a PS4 on a little screen in your house if you have a bigger screen in your house?

I agree about the problem of the price for memory cards. One solution is the sd2vita adapter, if you are running 3.60 custom firmware. That is the route i will go, as it allows up to 400 gb normal micro sd card. The 200 gb micro sd card is pretty affordable. The only draw back is it takes up the game slot so you still need a regular card to make a backup.

I know most people wouldn't agree with me, but I feel like Borderlands 2 is a great game.

My favorite console, and I've played nearly as much as my Xbox One. Also, if there isn't a GameStop near you, go to a Walmart, and look at the games. While the selection is limited at Walmart (at least in Park City), the games are only $10.00 for brand new copies. I hope that helped anyone

I have been on the fence about a VITA. I have a buddy that plays the remote play feature most of the time. The only negative feedback I hear from him and others who have it, is that playing a lot of the PS4 games is difficult due to a different button layout.

Is the PS Vita slowly dying? Well, of course it is! And why? Because Sony wants too much money for the Vita, too much money for the memory cards, and too much money for the games. I prefer the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL, Nintendo 2DS, New Nintendo 3DS, and New Nintendo 3DS XL. Nintendo has some good games for their handhelds. Nintendo is kicking Sony's ass!

The 3ds is successful but it's a crap console. It's very slow, non-responsive at times and glitchy as hell. It's library is mostly full of children's games other than a few exceptions. Also nintendo is known for giving up on it's previous systems and removing features (i.e. chat feature from original DS has been killed, wifi play has been disabled on the Wii, DS & DS Lite). The vita is a greater system and way more powerful. Stick to the vita it will eventually get better support in my opionion if sony get's behind it.

I'm not buying a Vita until they support regular micro sd cards. The ones you have to buy for it are just stupidly overpriced and makes it a no-buy for me. The 3DS is far superior in game variety anyway, so I can wait.

Another thing about the vita slim, it can charge off a normal mini-usb charger (usually the android phone chargers) rather than the original charger. Wish I bought the slim honestly as the screen is beautiful but having a seperate charger over a mini-usb starts to clutter up the power strip, alongside having to buy an entirely different charger for it rather than just a normal mini-usb one. That's the one thing I truly felt when investing into the fat vita, and maybe vita's as a whole, a lot of money is going to be poured into it. The SD cards are unique, fat charger is unique, alongside physical games becoming a rarity, after that though it's quite a nice hand-held. I just wish that the sd card's were cheaper considering that this system has a heavy push towards digital games but a 64 gb card can cost upwards to $80-$90, while a 32gb can be $40-$50.

It's a great rhythm game and I would recommend it to any Vita owner who has not already. I used to not get the appeal to handhelds. Especially with smart phone gaming. But for some reason I really like handhelds now and am not sure why. I think it's just because they feel like toys we used to grow up with. They're just fun for collecting and I look at them as bonus stuff to go along with my console collection. And you can play the games for a few minutes on your bed. With smartphone games, you can't collect the games physically as far as I know, so that's what makes hand held games unique. And Metal Jesus just said that they add a new dimension to your collection. I think that's what it is too. I've been collecting for a while and now I just like collecting handhelds to add to my consoles. I love to play all my stuff too, don't get me wrong.

The main reason for me to buy the Vita was to play emulators on it and to play many of the ps2 and ps1 classics available on the Playstation Store like Jak and Daxter 1-3, Metal Gear Solid 1-3, Ratchet and Clank and Tomb Raider. The controls take some time getting used to but the games I've played so far (Killzon, Ratchet and Clank 2, MGS3) work very well on the system and especially MGS3 looks beautiful on the PS Vita. I miss some of the older games and having a portable device that had all these games as well as emulators with me at all times was the main reason for me to get one. I was able to get my hands on a used one that was in perfect condition for just 90 bucks a few days ago and I've been loving the Vita so far.

(Downloads) Legend of Dragoon, Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational, Ridge Racer, Dead or Alive 5, Tearaway, Zen Pinball 2, Namco Museum Vol. 3, Lone Survivor: The Directors Cut, Rymdkapsel, Games I didn't enjoy at all: MotoGP, Armoured Core and Twisted Metal (note - I loved the PS2 console versions neither ported well to PS Vita - IMO), WRC 4 FIA - World Rally Championship. Favorite Apps: Netflix, Twitter, TuneIn Radio. I really liked the RU-vid app until it was decommissioned :( Best buy investment was a PS Vita 2000 Trigger Case. I've never taken it off and dropped the console a few times without breaking it or the Vita. I didn't have any protection on (oh $@$%!) when I dropped and cracked the screen on my first PS Vita (me was very sad). The triggers work awesome, they do stick once in a blue moon but I'd buy another if this case broke. P.S.: broken PS vita has sat in a drawer for over 3 years, still works fine but $128 to fix, just not worth it.

I like the Vita but I prefer the switch because of the multiplayer,the design,the games and the power of this console,and that it is a hybrid console

I do love my Vita I take it with wherever I go out, not all the time, but a lot. Even in the bathroom. lol. Doc appointments, or out to eat,or just sitting in the sun room, or my bed, or like anywhere. Although sometimes I get tingly fingers from using the thing, it is still fun to play with. The Vita has a lot of titles I grew up playing, which is awesome. The Switch does not have that many racing games, yet, which that part sucks, where the Vita has more for racing. Also more rpgs for the Vita, though the Switch has some, still they need more games. The only nice thing about the Switch is that is bigger, and my not cramp up your hands. And you can use on TV and take off the control buttons. And the memory is not super expensive. I wish they make this for the Vita people.

Bought a VITA a while back. Thought it was similar to the PSP. Tried to play God of War on the VITA and couldn't do shit with it. That touch pad shit on the back never worked right for me. Sold it months later and picked up a New 3DS XL. Never been happier.

also worth mentioning that the vita is the only portable playstation that has all the same buttons as a PS3 controller, all the devs have to do is map the lower left and right parts of the front touch screen to L3 & R3 whilst the upper left and upper right parts of the rear touchpad can be set to L2 & R2.

Hi MJR...I know its been a few years since this video was put out, but I just wanted to point something out. I have been watching a lot of your videos and am a big fan of MJR. I recently picked up a used vita. I paid $150 for the first generation model. I am floored that the memory costs almost as much as the console itself...Man...I wonder why the game sales were not what Sony expected. My two cents... If Sony really wanted the Vita to be a successful console, the memory would be almost free. The more games you can store, the more you will buy. Are you aware of any vita memory alternative or adapter?
