One thing i would like is to not show the Stars at the begging of the round. This WAY we can think think at the end of the round how many stars the player deserves after what happened
Just because the stars are there doesn't mean you can't think why it's that star rating example if u see 1 star while looking at him play you can think what did he do that made it one star
You're definitely not being too harsh. Grade them as if they're trying to climb at least a few ranks. People get mad at their inconsistencies and you point out plenty of things that explain why some games they pop off and others they struggle
Banger coaching vids man please keep pumping them out! I’m legit eagerly awaiting them regardless of rank, the analysis is top tier per usual. That idiot that commented is probably in the trenches and hard stuck and thinks his teammates are “holding him back” No dISResPect, usually coaches I n every profession may not be as good as the players skill wise but bring a different perspective and a different way of looking at things. They have a more open mind and can see things differently, like the nba nfl literally everything lol keep it up man you’re the best !
@@Dragonmar I really like what you say and I think this is fair for all ranks, the leaderboard and a VOD review tells 2 completely different stories. On a scoreboard this player or other players may wonder “how on earth did I lose what more can I do” but there’s too many mistakes to count, and when they’re fixed I’m sure he’ll see a rise in everything. I can’t say it enough keep it up man!
I agree with your principle of always buying Spectre after pistol-round wins, except for on Breeze. I find that the many long-range sightlines on the map allow you to dominate and kill enemies with a single bodyshot (unless they also forced half-shields, but we know that’s usually rare) before they get close enough to possibly kill you with a pistol and potentially pick up your weapon. In general the only time a 2nd round buy goes badly is if an enemy gets their hands on your gun, so if you are far away enough that they don’t have a chance to do that, I find it to be the better buy. On bonus round, a Marshall-headshot can be your only real hope against Vandals on Breeze as well. For most of the areas on Breeze, a Spectre will never stand a chance against a Vandal unless you flank and get close behind them without them seeing. Of course you don’t want 5 Marshalls on the team, but I think anywhere between 1 and 3 of them is healthy on 2nd round buys for the map.
I think that what you've just shown is that you have a really deep, more nuanced understanding of the game that definitely surpasses the initial general suggestion I make! Unfortunately, I have to make these simplifications/generalizations as they are the rule, but what you describe is the exception to the rule which is EQUALLY as important. Good stuff there and I 100% agree! The one thing I will say, is that making the Spectre work on breeze is 100% possible based on positioning, and requires either full aggression, or playing like a rat haha
@@Dragonmar thoughts on ares for no damage drop off instead (maybe good for crossfires?) as an alternative to spectre. Sorry if im bombarding with questions, but one last thing if you want ares why take it over marshal/sheriff/bulldog etc r2 on engagements like this?
Hi Dragonmar, I love your vids. Very educational especially for a hardstuck gold/plat here. I like the rating system too, as it focuses more on what you're able to contribute to the team. Goes to show that frags aren't everything in this game. I was wondering if maybe you can make a VOD review that emphasizes on Minimap usage, how to use it properly, when to look at it and probably setting up abilities based on the information on minimap?
I been watching your videos since I recently diuscover your channel I play main controller and I started watching videos about vod reviewing. I'm wondering which matches should I of myself ones I do well in kills or ones that I do pretty close like 16 kill and 17 deaths? or maybe ones that I do very bad? I'm currently G1 close to going back to S3 I mostly play soloQ aswell.
Hi Dragonmar! Do you think solo queue climbing has changed over the last year or so? As in, do you think its still possible to do? I've just started taking comp more seriously but I personally feel that every other match there are throwers, no comms, etc. Which makes winning the match exponentially harder. Tbf though, I am still b3/s1 so still have a lot to learn, but just curious what you've seen or noticed. Love the vids man! Thanks for putting these out it definitely helps.
I think its 100% possible because I see the students I coach everyday climb solo as well! Its just about being the BEST player YOU can be, and providing as much value as you can to your team!
Silvers placed their utility on where they think as comfortable, like that sage wall blocking doors or omen smoke covering 50% of heaven. They are all just bad and sometimes they just dont understand the basic of skill combo (slow/molly + heaven smoke) is much better
Hey something I wanted to ask about was early in the vid when jett was playing tree and chamber was heaven wouldn't you just wanted jett onsite (gen/boxes/hell) to peek off his contact instead of holding cross because you don't even see contact at the same time?(jett is later so chamber should've played off his info I think)
Yes. But this is a scenario where Jett isn't playing on site. Chamber made a bad play there by peeking the site entrance, since from where Jett is playing, Jett cannot trade him if he dies. Chamber should just wait behind that heaven box, and wait for Jett contact, then peek, since enemies will likely turn to Jett. This could've been communicated by Jett saying "Chamber peek off of me"
Hey Dragonmar! I’m planning to get coached by sending a VOD review, however, I have a quick question. When would you want me to send the VOD video? Is there a specific timeframe?
Dragonmar sorry, i guess i should’ve worded that a bit better. i’m planning to just get a vod review, not live though (i’m a bit shy haha 😅). once i book a coaching session, when should i send you the vod review? do you want it by a certain date?
Try to distance yourself and your personal experience from your coaching method. No disrespect to you at all, but obviously You yourself are not rank 1 radiant, best player to ever live in any all-around capacity, nor are your insights exactly teacher-of-the-year quality. I think you could nix the star-ratings because simply why, anyway? Does a 5-star play get a cookie while the 1-star plays (which are begging for constructive insight) receive more ridicule than objective explanation? Sorry, I've enjoyed a lot of your content going back years now, but the star-ratings and the subjective vs objective detailing of play gives this one a notable layer of cringe..
This comment is pathetic, and I feel bad for you. What a trashy thing to say about a video where all I want to do is help others learn. You want some constructive insight? Click away from the video. Nothing in your comment was remotely helpful for me to retool my content, or video style in a better way. Self reflect a little man, this comment has a notable layer of cringe...
This guy probably spent 30 minutes writing this comment, instead of clicking away after not enjoying the video. Dw about him this was a very helpful video for me even as a plat
@@Dragonmar @Dragonmar Oh, goodie. How did you pick my comment to reply to out of the 12 other possible comments here? As I said, I've followed your channel for some time. Perhaps you're right, that my comment contains a layer of cringe, but it certainly contains a layer of truth since you have clearly fallen off 👍
@@Dragonmar additionally, it's funny that I bother to preface the first statement with "No disrespect to you" and find that you are about as good at receiving constructive criticism as you are at giving it ^.^
@@salimzukari9335 Make no assumptions about me as I've made none about you or the OP of the content. I've simply stated my observations about the way a good player is reviewing a worse player's gameplay. Star ratings? Yeah, really helpful, definitely going to make an impact in my next gameplay decision.
