The fact that English is not the first language for Teacher Mike but he is into teaching people the language is amazing. This man is a gift from God for anyone who wants to learn English.
For me, I keep working on my flash cards to improve my vocabulary. In my opinion, the most difficult part of learning English is speaking because you have to think at the moment what you are going to to say. Sometimes, the right word don't come to my mind easily, or maybe I don't find a word that means what I am thinking at that moment. So, I just managed to say something. Hahaha. On the other hand, I know that you have helped me practice my speaking for a very short time, and that is not enough time to see good results. However, to be honest, I notice my speaking is really improving a lot. So, I feel more than happy for that little success that I achieved. Thank you very much, our super teacher. As well, my listening is getting better than ever.😊😊😊
I found you by accident, I discovered that I can understand what you say. But I still have a problem in understanding movies or some people. Whatever thank you so much...
This video I see for the first time, and I find it as an unusually useful, simple but clear explaining how to improve an ability of speaking free and fluently. This is an excellent lesson giving us advice and tips, how to exercise and consolidate the knowledge of new words and expressions! Thanks a lot, Teacher, for the next impressive and valuable video!
Hi, Mike! Greetings from a cloudy and bitterly cold São Paulo, Brazil! This is the first that I've seen your video, and I'm so glad it turned up in my video feed. Not only have I given it a thumbs-up, but also added your channel to my must-see videos about American English. Looking forward to binge-watching them as time permits. All the best! :)
Ok mike. I like your material you sharing with us. On really I appreciate all your effort for teaching us. I practicing my english with your stronge advice to me... thank good man
I think as long as you arent honest with yourself about your efforts and possibilities in learning English, then the will of improving your English constantly is just not strong enough. But as soon as it is getting an important goal in your life, you're always keep looking for opportunities and not for excuses. I hope that makes sense 😊
@@TeacherMikeEnglish What I meant to say is that once improving your English skills has become a major goal in your life, you will always find solutions to any problems during your learning process.
I am learning English from your videos. I really appreciate your hard work and dedication. Thank you so much for your teaching and effort. I can understand English but i make grammar mistake my problem is speaking and writing .
It can affect the overall meaning of a sentence. For example, the way that you say something could make it sound more certain, less certain, or more like a question. However, it does not change the meaning of individual words like it does in tonal languages.
(393) Wow Teacher, this video feels like an audio and video of the written extract from my favorite book "How to practice speaking English by yourself" by Teacher Mike. This book is an epitome for those who are individually trying and facing difficulties to learn a language. ❤
Yes. That book includes a lot of the same ideas that I have been repeating over and over again for the last five years but many people still fail to listen to.
Thank you, Teacher. Repeatedly listening to same Native and focusing of the sounds of same native's words is a good technique for improving and making better listening skill. 🙏🏼❤️
Hi, Mike! Today's video does resonate with me.. I've known fancy new words and expressions in English but I still find it hard to retrieve those words when speaking in English.. Thanks for your helpful tips, Mike 👍😍
Salamat teacher ginagawa ko ung payo mo nag gawa ako ng flasscard salamat malaki ang naitulong sa akin sa pag sasalita ng English at pag babasa mahina talaga ako pag dating sa English

A few minutes of repetition a day is not enough. Everyone has their own way of learning. Foreigners should learn with the use of images that symbolize meaning, or at least mentally association with meaning. This reduces the phenomenon of switching to your own language, at least partially. The second very important thing - you have to correct your pronunciation each time, comparing it with the reference recording. In my opinion, the amount of time spent per day is a minimum of one hour if you want to expand the scope of your vocabulary. I spend even more time studying.
A few minutes is enough to review words that you know but don't want to forget. That's the point of this video. Also, I agree with you that it's best to use images/association instead of translation. However, when you get to advanced vocabulary, that becomes much more difficult. Doing that with "racial discrimination", "voter fraud" or "hypothermia" just gets ridiculous.
@@TeacherMikeEnglish My flashcard app plans about 70-80 flashcards per day to do review. They are all close to forget, and therefore they are difficult. Not counting the time needed for drilling (much more time is needed), the time you mentioned only for review as a few minutes (let's say 10 minutes) it would be about 8-10 seconds for one flashcard. That's on the verge of the time needed for the context switch in mind. It's way would be definitely too fast for me. Topic of how to learn advanced words is unfortunately to deep to YT comments.
