Why Can't You Craft an Enchanted Golden Apple? 

So you can mass farm totems but not make enchanted golden apples? Mojang logic

This change was uncalled for

MOJANG "We are going to remove this food... well.... not completely 🤡 take off the craft, now take away the name... also reduce the duration of all the effects... "Now let's add something not OP at all: A TOTEM THAT MAKE YOU IMMORTAL TO EVERYTHING"

In multiplayer worlds this change only made the use of a dupe glitch become that much more desired

The notch apple crafting recipe was removed since the Minecraft 1.9 Combat Update beside Legacy Console Edition.

I remember logging back onto minecraft and trying to craft one and then realizing...

i still think this change was a bad gamechanger. if you want to spend that much time mining gold, especially in pre-netherite minecraft, you should be able to craft these things to your heart's content. finding them in the wild is absurdly rare.

I agree that removal of the crafting recipe is sensible for singleplayer and normal servers, as craftable enchanted golden apples are just too overpowered for fighting mobs and normal pvp, but on anarchy servers where hacks are permitted, having lots of enchanted golden apples in addition to very precise movement is the only way to effectively counter how overpowered crystal auras are (using a hacked client to place and break many end crystals near the opponent as fast as the ping permits). So as a result, anarchy servers either have a made up dupe plugin for players to get geared, or they have to find a dupe exploit on their own, or track down a stash from players that knew of a dupe exploit before it get patched. Both item obtainment metas are really stupid, and much less enjoyable than building highly efficient farms.
