I Want More Small Phones in the low end...well in general! #android #androidphones #samsung #samsungmobile #straighttalk #google #rant #mobilephone #mobile
I too like small phones but the problem is nobody buys them anymore. Small phones were bought when they were norm. They arent the norm anymore and thats just how things are
Had a pixel 6 for a year but was always annoyed at how big and heavy it was, so last week I bought a used pixel 5 off ebay for £50 and put a new battery in it which was lovelyyy, still a 90Hz screen, 8GB RAM and Android 14 but finally a small light phone! But eventually I was kind of annoyed with both the front and rear cameras, so as of a few hours ago I bought a used Zenfone 10 which will hopefully solve all my problems - small phone but with current gen specs
Reason we don't get small phones in budget is because no one will buy them. I mean, if iPhone mini failed, despite the blind fandom Apple has, understand how much harder it will be for Androids who all must compete on pure merit. Add to it, budget audience absolutely doesn't care about quality (not that it is easy to provide on a budget). A little harsh, but 90% of budget segment will only buy on basis of GBs, MPs, GHzs, which means they'll also treat a larger screen as a benefit no matter what. On the premium side, people will at least appreciate quality over things like size and still opt for an S23/S24, Pixel 8, etc.
For me and my usage its more than fine. I get though a day playing Fall guys, taking pictures and messaging a good amount. If i am low (which to me is like 40%) the fast charging will give me a needed boost in 20 minutes to keep going.
