El Tesoro is actually the most widely available traditional tequila. They have nationwide distribution. As for fortaleza, you’d be lucky to find it anywhere other than the distillery
“Most widely available traditional tequila” doesn’t mean it even comes close to “most widely available tequila”, sadly. Barchemistry’s point still stands. While it may be the biggest traditional, it doesn’t mean it’s available everywhere like Cuervo.
@@ClaireBear_yt You don’t have to settle on the corner store. Try somewhere else. Go to a bigger store and you’ll probably find something decent. You can google additive free tequilas and you’ll see hundreds of options
@@crazynavyhm As a Mexican, if you’re Mexican and think Cuervo is real traditional tequila then you’re dumb af. We drink Cuervo cause it’s the best middle option, that shit is nowhere near traditional, but it tastes okay and it’s cheaper
We all know Fortaleza is hard to find nowadays because of the high demand and low supply. But El Tesoro is much easier to find, obviously not every liquor store in America stocks that brand but it is produced and distributed in much larger numbers. Both are excellent brands that are additive-free, but there are plenty of other great brands on the market that are also additive-free. Tequila Ocho, Siete Leguas, G4, Cimarron, Tapatio (not the hot sauce 😄😄😄), Mijenta, and El Tequileño, just to name a few.
Its true, like it or not, tequila is the lowest in calories out of all liquors, that and mezcal. Even though alcohol slows your metabolism down to a halt and treats it as a poison, so i mean its a lose lose situation
Yes....I have several bottles of Fortaleza, and El Tesoro, Cazcanes, G4, Tequila Ocho...plus some crappier ones that are used for mixing.....no " mixtos" though.
For the price you can get a ton of different natural options that are honestly 10 times better tasting. You can even spend less and still get quality tequila. Arette is one of my favorites and it’s about 30 dollars
It taste like tequila for toddlers, with overwhelming notes of vanilla and caramel while also being sweet. I really don't know what's happening in the tequila market right now. I think that people want to drink it, just not the real thing. So, we end up with sweet cotton candy-like tequila. I'll still to the old earthy, oaky classic brands...
@@rayonensb This is only for blancos, but I like that minerality of the G4. I hear that Fortaleza anejo is the bees knees though, if I ever see one I will try it.
Tried fortaleza for the first time in a random bar 2 weeks ago. I easily found three locations that had stock and I got a bottle for $60. I didn't know how scarce it was.
Out in Colorado I have both the Fortaleza Blanco and the El Tesoro Reposado. Lots of great options though that have no additives: G4, Cazcanes, Lalo, Mijenta, Tequila Ocho, even a pretty cheap bottle of Cimarron.
Where in Colorado, though? Obviously Denver is going to have a wider selection than Julesburg. In Kansas and Nebraska, you have to get to the population centers on the east end of the state before you find very many options.
I live in mid Missouri, can’t get more central USA then that and I go with Herradurra Ultra Añejo when I can. When I worked at the busiest liquor store in town I just talked to the Hispanics and that’s how I found several really good tequilas
Fortaleza Tequila is made to be sipped and not for shots. Another thing about Fortaleza is if you remove the front label it has the Original Brand Name Los Dos Abuelos, they had to call it Fortaleza due to a liquor copyright of a Whiskey or Bourbon with the name Abuelo.

I don’t like alcohol very much but a 100% pure agave tequila is so good. I can drink it like juice. The flavor or raw tequila is just so refreshing and good
Idk the tiny backwoods town I grew up in always had a unique bottle of something. Picked up a couple good bourbons, tequilas, and one really good bottle of wine.
Tbh, it's really hard to get even half decent tequila here in ohio. You can find whiskey and bourbon by the truckload, but finding a top shelf tequila seems borderline impossible unless you're willing to take out a small loan to buy a bottle.
i think the issue is more so what celebrity tequila brands have done to the agave cultivation and the tequila industry generally. those cut corners are actually harmful to agave agriculture, and the cheaper tequila has driven the market out of real local latin american tequila producers, who i think deserve the money much better than a celebrity does.
Just shove any kind of proper tequila in the freezer and drink it very cold if you don't like the flavour of tequila. You'll probably end up downing it so much and say goodbye to your day, afternoon, or night.
Um that's just Tesoro and Fortaleza. The worst thing of the celebrity boom is that now people gate keep things like Tesoro. I have a case I forgot about in my garage. I paid lie 100 bucks for the case 20 years ago 😆 🤣
PA also has some of the worst liquor laws in the country Can you get booze delivered in pa using curiada or whatever that online liquor store is called?

When I tell you that this liquor doesn’t sit well in my stomach I mean it everyone around me thinks it tastes great and I’m the only one like not only does it taste fake but my stomach is in shambles after
Thankfully I’m from the region that makes tequila :) so if you ever come across Tapatio, Centinela, Don Julio 70, San Matias, Don Nacho (pretty good if you ask me) & 7 Leguas, i’d say you’re drinking some really good stuff! There’s more out there I am sure but real tequila tastes amazing and not many places outside of the region of Los Altos, Jalisco drink these brands that we all find to be classics and delicious
So dose anyone know why the volume or alcohol content is lower in some of the offerings you can get and Mexico compare to something you would or can get in the states that dose change the flavor profile
Pueblo viejo, cheap as hell, easy to find (im in rural ga) amd no additives and ewally food for the peice, solid 7/10. La grotona is harxer to dind bur the beat imo, 10/10
You do have to head to the population centers close to the interstates if you want any real selection, but yeah, you can find decent variety in flyover country
