Why Celtics can’t rely on “talented but not tough” Jayson Tatum to win | Colin Cowherd + Nick Wright 

You do know that he was out scoring the entire pacers team by himself in OT right? Isn’t that “clutch time”?

Okay it’s getting ridiculous to see the amount of Celtics/Tatum disrespect.

Tough in my eyes is having a rough 4th quarter but being able to have a short memory and the confidence to keep being yourself to the point where you dominate OT and win the game. Thats just my opinion though. Side note: The media makes it seem like Tatum would have been better off never making the playoffs before this season 🧐 Side Side note: Tatum is the only thing stopping opponents from absolutely dominating the boards game in and game out. This and his defense seem to go completely unnoticed by "media."

Why does media completely disregard the context of those conference appearances by Boston? 1) The roster for the most part was different each time they made the ECF. 2) Tatum and Brown were not as nearly as talented as they are now during the first 3 appearances. 3) Their best player Kyrie for 2 out of 3 postseasons with the C's was injured (The one season he was healthy, he underperformed) 4) The time during which the C's were making these ECF appearances was the Lebron vs Warriors dynasty era (They never had a chance to begin with) 5) Every Celtics run so far has been riddled with injuries that everyone seems to ignore (media cop out, lets blame Tatum because he's not Lebron) 6) In 2022, the Celtics were .500 team that went a run to make it to the Finals and their first Finals loss was to the dynasty Warriors (you couldn't possibly chosen a worse opponent for you first finals)

TLDR - Hero ball is a more profitable media narrative, so they don't like Tatum because he's a team-first player. Also, they are have some old-man resentment going on. And Nick hopped on the Lebron bandwagon as a kid so he just doesn't like Boston, because they are Lebron's rival.

Tatum averages 27-9-6 in elimination games in the playoffs. The most playoffs points at his age in the league. Two way player and if he wins the chip this year, he'll have won before Gianni's & Joker and already has more playoff success than Embid, Luka, Ant, Booker, and multiple older stars.

Jayson is the only player who will drop 36/12/5 and everyone still says he sucks. Ant man drop 16 and everyone chants mvp lol

I think people underestimate how amazing it is to consistently make the top 4 every year Injuries and luck often decide championships and putting yourself in position to be in the top 4 every year is all you can ask for

It's funny and sad that Luka or Edwards would be view in a bigger lighting if they win the chip yet with Tatum they'll say it was expected so will take off all credits.
