@@oscara8454 I completely agree, it feels like a targeted attack on Navia mains and a decision just for the money, when they could have done something creative. They could have easily made Navia summon an artillery construct with her burst or something and completely changed Chiori’s C1 to incentivize constructs more instead of less, maybe even buff construct damage to make Chiori and Albedo double Geo a thing.
That's how I feel as a mono Geo enthusiast at Xilonen C2. Very hot take if Xilonen was a 5 star only geo support I would be happier. I'll still get the cat, though. Just salty. Everyone else still has amazing buffers like, Furina Bennet and Kazuha. Now you can make the meme only buffs team there's so much redundant characters in the that slot
Yeah I wish C0 was just restricted to having a geo user instead of a construct or at least make her C1 available for her C0 kit. C1 should not be quality of live features for a character to be viable everywhere.
I’m just really worried they are never going to release a cool construct-focused character again just so they can keep baiting people to get C1. Otherwise I genuinely like how Chiori’s kit works, it’s very automatic, just skill and switch. You don’t have to constantly babysit Tomato like Albedo’s flower or weave in Normals to maximize her damage like with Yelan or something. Very easy and flashy.
For a meta standpoint Chiori is only an upgrade for Mono geo, and she had a niche for being the best double geo partner with Zhongli (probably replaced by Xilonen) But just for funsies Chiori has pretty animations, one of my fav personalities, and a drop dead gorgeous design
As a Hu Tao main in 2024 I love using Chiori in double geo for the good damage she provides off-field I know it's outclassed by Hu Tao plunge and Double hydro but I still love it and it's the only team I can find Chiori useful in. I really like Chiori man but yeah she's just not great better than Albedo though, I love Albedo too btw.
I'm super curious to see how a Xinolen / C2 Chiori / C2 Sigewinne / C2 Furina team will perform. The off-field damage is going to be crazy. For those who are curious as well, C1 Sige (w/ at least 55k HP (which is achievable without signature)) and C1 Chiori should be good enough for this team to feel nice to play.
Before Chiori came out, many in the community thought she might be a standard banner 5*. Based on her shortcomings described in this video, maybe she should have been. We still don't have a standard 5* Geo unit after 4 years. I like Chiori's good looks and half of me wants to acquire her and pair her with my Ningguang for additional Geo damage. Or with my Navia, though there's anti-synergy there. (I don't have Itto). My other half realizes the above is a bad idea, meta-wise, but still wonder if it could be fun to hurl a lot of rocks at enemies?
Remember this video if ever youre considering pulling on a new char that isnt good "but Hoyo is totally going to make them great later with future units and artifacts" ...because sometimes they start mid, and Hoyo devastates them with a free 4 star four patches later. :|
well not really cause look at deyha. she got quite the glow up, cyno is actually usable, and geo as a whole is improving. i know she'll get better later down the line
I said sometimes. As in, just because a 5 star comes out with a very questionable kit and power balance- it isnt necessarily a part of a long term plan to make them complete with a future character. Sometimes they really are just milking you to pull them twice so that they can work with Navia for a couple months before they get replaced :/ Waiting two years for your limited 5 star to maybe get collaterally buffed into relevance isnt a great feeling either :< I am always thrilled when I see old chars buffed into relevance though, Furina was amazing for that and I hope we see more of it

sadly xilonen is not that interesting to me, i lsot my 5050 on chiori last time, my only other geo 5 star is navia so honestly im just getting her bc i like her design/character but im also someone who skipped furina for sigewinne and her bow, and nahida for nilou, and kazuha i never felt the need to get, uses my ayato more than my neuv, but i completely understand why shes like so not worth it so unless you like her a lot i agree she is an easy skip
I respect this. I skipped Kazuha to get Klee solely for her resource passive and the only way he's coming home is if I want a new 4* and wouldn't rather pull on his partner banner. People rely on him way too much.
Already got nahida, zhongli and kazuha is gud enough so I don’t need xilonen. Don’t even have the resources to invest into any characters right now. Gonna take this time to stack up on all materials and primos until mavuika and furina shows up.
Skip? My favorite character Chiori? No. Ever since I skipped her on release because her kit is indeed disappointing at C0, I couldn't stop regretting it because I love her so much! Her design, personality, the mid DPS option (all my characters are weak anyway, I don't care)... I want it. I'm getting C6R1 and she'll never leave my team 😄
I dont understand, xilonen doesnt have geo offield application, her 36% res shred + 40% geo dmg bonus (navia will have lower stack) vs consistent full stack navia skill and offield dmg for chiori, is it that much gap in team damage?
From what I know, chiori just does off field damage, but xilonen can hold cinder city, and her kit Is a good buffer who heals which is a good teammate for furina, who's another good teammate for navia
It's the difference between a geo Yae and a geo but all purpose Chevruese. Supports are higher valued than dps since dps can't out damage other dps. Navia with 3 bullets isn't that different than Navia with 6 bullets. You just need to get more than 2 for good damage.
I feel bad skipping Chiori now because I was inclined to skip her the first time. But it is what it is. Xilonen, Nahida, and Hu Tao provide much more value to an account. In fact, having three top-tier characters in the same patch is going to be painful enough as it is. Getting all three and/or their weapons will be prohibitively expensive. How can an elegant but mid 5-star Geo compete against that burden?
worst thing is she didn't even have a buff for constructs. Like give constructs a shitload of dmg to justify the niche or something?? C1 should've been part of her base kit if they were gonna release Kachina and Xilonen so soon. Her damage isn't even that bad, if they just made a her a geo general sub-dps that makes crystallizes explode or something, idk, it would've been much better. Maybe not bis but like a more offensive zhongli option :(
Sandrone is probably the solution for Chiori. We knew Capitano was in Natlan months ago, but we also know there's a second harbinger (likely Columbina but maybe Sandrone?)
I just had the Idea that wouldn't save Geo but definitely would save Albedo. A rework of sorts(actually an alternate path like Swordmaster March 7th). Albedo would be a physical main dealer Geo character, sounds bad right? Wait until you hear how he would work. Anyway this version of Albedo would have the same EM passive, except that this time his skill would become his burst, but instead of a flower he would create a tower, like an advanced crucible. His burst would create a damaging zone that would cause geo damage every 2 seconds through earthquakes, but wait, there's more. The crucible would attract Crystalize shards and every time one gets absorbed by the tower, it will deal AoE elemental damage of the same element as the shard, complete with elemental application, capable of reacting. More importantly while the burst is up it will convert Albedo's physical damage to the first absorbed element. His elemental skill will give his normal attacks increased attack speed as well as the ability to buff his normal attacks with elemental damage coming from absorbed shards similar to Geo Aether's passive but not restricted to any attack. Here's what's important his skill will buff his attack in accordance to how much EM you have on your build, so he can easily react with any element becoming the first chararcter able to be a main dealer in any team setup. his new passive will allow any phys DMG bonuses on his kit to become All elemental damage % when his burst is up. Together with his other passive being the same 125 EM he already has he will be able to slot into any team that uses off-field damage skills. I know it's useless to make these reworks but you can't tell my mind to stop creating.
chiori c1 (yes, expensive, but still) is a part of my noelle c6 hypercarry team alongside with furina (c0) and gorou c6. This team outperforms my C1 Hutao (with Homa), Kazuha, Yelan Xingqiu team so i think that team is still worth mentioning.
I feel like I have to pull chiori’s c1 because she’s my most powerful character, I only got lucky with artifacts for her, maybe if I was less lazy I would fix my wanderer build and lv him up to 90, I didn’t even want chiori I wanted gorou and got her early, I don’t know how to feel about chiori.
I'm gonna get chiori for navia and xilonen for neuvillette. It's a game overall, pulling for your favourite character will never be a waste of premogem
Same! I had the same thought process as a Neuvi/Navia man! There's two sides to the abyss after all and Mavuika will likely be a better buff to Navia than Neuvi later on and replace Xiangling in her double pyro team.
Poor Chiori, depsite the fact i don't like her personality honestly speaking, she's to me at least the worst 5 star in Fontaine next to sigwenne. She was designed for a niche that isn't popular. If she i don't know shreded geo resistance by 20% - 36% while wanting geo partners and having a decent off field damage she would be so much better honestly. Just imagine Chiori, Gorou, Itto and Morax. What 56% max geo resistance while Gorou buffs Itto, um thank you! Certainly gives her a niche outside of being Albedo 2.0! Certainly make my boy Arataki the one and oni Itto better by comparison.
I'm on the road for Chiori C1, one of my unexpected favorite character to play, peak design and very cool skill in the overworld. Sorry Xilonen, but not even your big-meta cannot compete against the true edge of fashion
I am a huge advocate of Xilonen. But I have to say her value to Navia is a bit overblown in this video as off-field geo application is quite important to Navia to ensure she's always fully loaded. And Xilonen has no off-field geo application. Though Xilonen has res shred that Kachina cannot provide, I think Kachina is a more comfortable partner for Navia than Xilonen.
I don't think I will, since my geo needs are overdue and I want to fix it. Besdies, she has some cracked DEF and DEF-adjacent Golden trupe pieces waiting for her, including a 40CV DEF sands (since for some reason, Golden Trupe domain loves to give me such pieces instead of HP or ATK)
My endgame genshin goal js actually to get Chiori C6, but only because shes one of my favs and i want to make her really good on field. I typically choose one limited character in an entire game to attenpt to max out (not by throwing money lol but by saving) But pull value wise for most people yeah shes not worth much
One thing that bothered me here was that you acknowledge C1 being a decent upgrade but never mention that + Xilonen core? Xilonen has perfect synergy with her unlike gorous buffs that don't extend off field. Expensive but it sounds strong as hell
A lot of people who really love a characters design will get some cons and r1. Chiori is quite a strong DPS then. Would have been nice to at least mention that
I might pull her because of her character. Most of the content is easy enough to clear anyways so she might work decently as a flex pick for imaginarium and goofy abyss teams
….Because I already have her and I love her. The auto switch to the next character effect is amazing makes the rotation so fluent and fast . I wish other characters can do this too
While it is true that chiori's dolls don't snapshot they do still have the buffs even if chiori is off-field, they just have to be within bennets circle but yeah that sucks ASS
Chiori is a character where I can only enjoy her fanart and not pull her, and she also proves in Genshin the doomers are more likely to be right compared to doomers in HSR.
PULL VALUE? We need variety of decent GEO characters for future Imaginarium Theatre especially the 4th difficulty requires a lot with a minimum of 22 depending on the season's element. These META SLAVES players and content creators logic. Like AS IF the Spiral Abyss is really hard & needs the best min max team. AS IF there is any competition in the game. LOL
its about spending your primos in a way where you know what you’re getting yourself into not everyone finds doing 2 DMG fun, remember that F2PS have to save for MONTHS to get a character.
Now that Fresh Squeeze was bitter! But deserved. Here's hoping Chiori gets a redemption arc but I won't hold my breath. Not that I was going to pull for her regardless. Xilonen is about to get all the primos I can spare! Thanks for the overview, Juice!

wait when a character goes off field, they dont receive the buff.........????? like i thought it onlhy applies to leaving the radius or smth BUT GOING OFF FIELD AND CANT SNAPSHOT IS CRUEL. its so anoying hoyo knows they are adding problems to characters kit but still do it as rage bate like i like what they did with furina even if she has lower numbers, a perfect kit but just got buff and qol in cons, even raiden a subish dps witha lot of support but plus personal dmg by cons. or nahida, perfectly at c0 but breaks the element by c2 well archon but no need for c2. its just evil
It's not necessarily a problem. If a character snap shots a buff, they can't receive new buffs without reapplying the ability. Dynamic scaling means anything that triggers at any time may apply. It's only considered a problem because we're used to the early game period where buffs lasted only a short time, but certain characters could snap shot them for longer. We'd never get a character like Furina if that was truly always the best design philosophy.
I'm a C1R1 Chiori main and I do agree that she needs more investment to work and I have a 76-278 crit ratio and she shreds more than my Navia in my Navia-Furina-Chiori comp. Love her since I relate to her attitude and her design is superb. Also, I got her cons and signature weapon during the week of my birthday so that feels even more special. I'm planning to get Xilonen + sig weapon for meta but I'm planning to get even more cons for my Chiori for enjoyment purposes. 💛
Im pulling C1 chiori to run a Xilonen Furina shenanigans team. I've been waiting for Chiori for so long and it couldn't have been better for me that a cracked geo support is running along side her AND the weapon banner is stacked. Good luck to everyone wishing
Feel like Chiori suffers a thing called "X.5 curse". Every 5* character released in these patches were mediocre at best until the upcoming archon buffed them. Eula with Raiden, Yae with Nahida, and dps Dehya with Furina I hope Mavuika could somehow help Chiori, and this trend just stops in 5.5 Also, Ayaka, Keqing, C6 Kazuha, and some 4* with C6 infusion also get overwritten by C6 Bennett
Poor Albedo. I got Chiori, her C1 and her weapon, she hits hard and clearly powercreep Albedo. But let's be real, once Xilonen will come, Chiori will only be seen in mono geo team. Albedo will disappear for sure.
One thing they can do to revive Albedo is to release a set which allows geo units to convert EM into power on getting crystalize gems, this would mega buff Albedo beyond other Geo characters because he can stack more EM than others with his passive. It would also allow him to get really beefy shields of his own.

But C0 Chiori definitely makes Itto teams better right? She's straight up better than Albedo right? Definitely a niche unit, and good for that purpose. But yeah, she doesn't work with Navia, but likely, for Navia, its best to pair her with other units then. Don't need to force pair Navia and Chiori. And Zhongli Chiori is still a good support pairing. So definitely replaceable, but also usable.
I think Chiori is one of those characters that if you like her, pull for her. She's like a yoimiya in terms of value. Doesn't offer anything significant but has good in game personality and design. The fact that she's placed in banners where you won't even think pulling for her (her first banner and 5.1 banner) speaks volume. She was made to be a cult classic of some sort, not a meta defining one.
Hi personally I use Chiori as a buffer and just having fun comboing during exploration. In Natlan me friendship builder team + exploration was Arlecchino - Furina - Kachina -Chiori. Arlecchino run speed with height Furine for waterwalk and Kachina for scaling walls while Chiori helped to jump up to overhanging platforms that was difficult for kachina to ride up. During combat i did Arlecchino E, Furina E- (+Q if lots of enemies) Kachina E and Q when up then Chiori hold E swap in and auto charge attack from Arlecchino collecting the blood debt due. Then NA (Q if need heal apply E) swap to Chiori for finisher Q or if needed refresh Furina E and continue from there. I had a lot of fun doing this. Arle just got to Friendship 10 a couple days ago so I am experiementing currently with other characters how i can combo them for fun. lacking a lot of mora and exp materials so hard to adjust the team to function without anyone falling after a few battles. WR9 AR60. When possible i want to knock enemies into water or environmental damage. Like farming fatui operatives in fontaine for materials with a full lv 20-40 team and most i forgot to put any artifacts on so just doing reaction damage took quite a while.
I pulled her for her baddie personality that i love. I always go for personality ,cuz its fun to broaden your roster with various person from other borders .In the same way i used my guarantee on albedo. See? How much of a maniac i am? But i'm still clearing floor 12 with 9starts just with my f2p charas ranging mostly between(C0-c1&R0) . But yeah chiori being locked at her construct passive at c0 is bit of a stretch like her c1 should've been accessible in her base kit.
Why Chiori is a skip for me? Cuz i save up for Mavuika and i don't want a sub par geo off field damage dealer 😂😂😂 Altought i will have to skip Xilonen aswel, don't like her design or anything else but i heard she's a good buffer.
Her main competitor is Kachina which function similar to her but Kachina offers more than just Sub-DPS with CC. If only Hoyo make her kit more unique. Like imagine if she absorbs all nearby shards when we hold her skill. At least that can make her the 1st excellent Petra user and can offer her team more than just Dmg. At this point the only thing that will increase her usefulness only if Hoyo release a Artifact sets that synergistic with her kit and can make her act as a buffer. So she offer more than just Dmg just like Kachina.
After I pull for the Geo DJ Cougar, and a weapon (either works for Xilonen) I'll be trying for Chiori's C1. I do enjoy Chiori's play style, she's lots of fun in a Dehya/Emilie burn team, and her C1 will only be more fun.
I REALLY want Chiori since I not only really like her but I'm also collecting all the Geo characters and I'm only missing her (and soon Xilonen) but at any moment they'll announce a Neuvillette rerun and soon we'll have Mavuika's Banner and I don't know if I can save enough for 3 characters in a row without a LOT OF LUCK in my 50/50. Depending on who the 4 stars are on her banner I might try my luck with 30-40 pulls to see if I can't get her early.
She’s helpful to me but ONLY because of unintentionally (but welcome) highly invested Itto team. I got Itto’s weapon and c6 gorou from the Itto Scaramouche banner. That team can help me get 36 stars, though without all the stuff I have I don’t know. Cause like.. I can’t play her with navia. It’s sad
Luckily i already have her, got her by accident while trying to get my last 2 copies of gorou. Pulled her at an early 30 pity 😂. Really screwed up my Arlecchino savings but i managed somehow. Despite Chiori being an accidental pull, I actually like playing her plus ill liker her character alot to. Also helps that my account has a decent investment in geo with Itto, C6 gorou and Albedo.
Well, that is why I saved so much. Here I go C2R1 Xilonen and C1R1 Chiori. And I'm playing them with Gorou and Furina. Maybe I'll swap the weapons between the geo ladies so Chiori buffs Xilonen instead
Out of all the 79 characters that I own. I can say that Chiori is my favorite character, I use her for exploration and beating enemies in seconds. Pair her up with another geo with construct and shes a beast. I feel like she is the only character that can dish out insane amount of damage in a short amount of time without needing burst.
Mono Geo isn't a bad team. Good damage and comfortable. It's problem is Hoyo loves putting shields in the Abyss and it's not really f2p. 3 Fives stars and a c6 four star with only one good partner.
me who gets tiktoks where c0 Chiori is DPS withouth c6 but yeah,investments. I wish she could be as Yelan c0 in terms of kit and be played at c0 as DPS
I love her design and animations. I tried for her on her release and didn't get her. I really wish they never did her prerelease nerfs and locked her power behind cons/weapon.
