I know what you mean. At my old place I wound up buying a gigantic bag of peanuts from a feed store that lasted about two years or so. So for at least two chipmunks I was their restaurant. 😊 Oddly enough though I remember feeding two at a time (one from each hand) and they didn’t really get territorial.

Probably because while the chipmunk is eating it is vulnerable to predators. The chipmunk feels at ease enough around that person to eat without feeling like it could be in trouble, because there's a giant that happens to be pretty protective of it and it knows that.

I was attacked by a chipmunk in Colorado, I was fishing in Colorado when I noticed that squirrels, and chipmunk were gathered around me, there must have been 100 to 150 of them, all of a sudden they attacked me like a band of Mongolian warriors, they tore me up pretty good but I won the day, I was stomping and throwing them in the river and big catfish were coming up to eat them, these are dangerous animals, and should be shot on site
