Ever wondered why some construction workers are working faster than others? That's because of how they are paid. Productivity pays everytime. watch the drywall fixing time-lapse. #drywall #money
See how the drywall sheets are kept off the ground by sitting them on blocks of drywall so in the event of water being on the floor it doesn't soak back up into the sheet causing damage
If your a professional and your business provides this service in your local area, wherever you are in the world, I invite you to add your skill set to a listing on my website global.maxkil....

Paid by the hour = laid back and waste time. Paid for the job done = work hard, go home quicker.

Depends also on quality of work. I sure hope none of the screws miss the studs. I see countless times youtube "pros" showing techniques and missing studs. The homeowner is the one who loses out in the end.
@SilverforceX
@SilverforceX 3 года назад
@@brettbarker9394 You can see they miss studs sometimes, but they go in again with a screw near it to ensure the plaster is locked into the stud. The only hassle with that, is for the finishing guy to cover extra screws with plaster mud.
@brenyboy26
@brenyboy26 3 года назад
@@SilverforceX as a finisher, idc if two screws are less than 2cm apart because the sheeter missed a stud only just. if they are greater than 20mm, i’d expect it to be removed and bruised

Um … dusty studs with glue. Nice, let’s c how long the glue will hold up.
@endoalley680
@endoalley680 3 года назад
I like the glue on method. But we (living in the Rockies) by code put plastic (poly) vapor barrier on all of our exterior walls and ceilings . Also our wood framing needs a fair amount of shimming to get straight enough to rock. This limits what can be glued on. But your system seems pretty darn chingon!

metal studs are becoming more common especially with the cost of lumber, $6 for a stud (in Canada), i'd do metal framing for a basement reno for example

Wood in the US is extremely cheap relative to other countires. Today very little homes/apartments (flats) are being studded out with wood, all with metal as it can be made to be as good as wood in the circumstances and a hell of a lot more cost effective. Hope that helps
@endoalley680

@@shifty277 Some are done that way here in USA where climate allows. Steel framing often has trouble meeting insulation standards for residential construction.

Piece work is the way to go. Really good drywall workers shouldn’t be Penalized because there are really old are really slow union workers on the job. I used to work for the union shop that took my footage and converted it into hours.I always had my 40 hours in by Wednesday.Thursday and Friday were bonus :-) there was always Union workers who were jealous that they didn’t make as much as footage guys. Reporting us to the Union hierarchy. Then again we killed it everyday, they putzed around.

1. Just out of interest Max what centres for your studs do you work to? 2. What is the theory of the cross cracing metal studs? Not a criticism just an observation, I dont see it done when metal stud walls are done here in the UK. Thumbs up and a comment to help the YT algorythms. The guys are on the money btw in terms of how quickly and efficiently they work on repetitive tasks.

We are expected to go hard at all times and still get paid hourly, technically the harder we work the more we work ourselves out of the job. I think I'd rather be paid for progression and actual work done.

Back blocks, glued on with plaster, mainly only done on the ceiling joints to add xtra strength and minimize cracking, works well, if you have a wall joint thats a repeat cracker same system can be applied by screwing a piece of timber either side of joint
@shifty277
@shifty277 3 года назад
These are huge heavy pieces of plasterboard. It just keeps them less likely to have cracking on butting up joints on the ceiling where the board has a fight against gravity. Makes sense on ceilings. Hope that helps.

Are you sure you want to be wearing shorts doing this? Seems with the sharp tools you could hack up your legs pretty bad. I see this in videos with autoworkers, I would want long pants with all that sharp metal.
