Why couldnt Yoda defeat Darth Sidious?

Yoda was once again wiser than most and this wisdom, while many may interpret as cowardice was actually quite brave and ultimately victorious. When we realize that alone we will fail, it takes wisdom courage and strength to take a step back and seek the help and strength of another.

Bro has the knowledge to defeat them just not the physical strength

Sidious was afraid of Yoda. Yoda was definitely strong enough to beat Sidious. However he did not expect Sidious to be as powerful as he was and so knowledgeable about the force. The Sith from 1,000 years before did not focus ALL their effort, ALL their knowledge and ALL their training into one apprentice. Palpatine is the accumulation of 1,000 years of Sith knowledge and training. Not only that but Sidious himself went out into the galaxy and sought out many Sith artifacts and places where the force had left strong impressions. He studied Sith magic and many rituals. Palpatine was deeply immersed in the dark side of the force. Yoda was not prepared for that as the video stated he was expected something of what the Sith were like 1,000 years ago. However there were plenty of moments in that fight we saw Yoda gain ground and prevail over Sidious. At that point no one had overcome his incredibly powerful force maelstrom and even at point blank Sidious overtook Yoda for but a moment but after that Yoda knew exactly what to do. The only problem was the blowback was something Yoda was not prepared for. He fell a long way down and was so exhausted. If not for that the fight would have probably ended shortly after with Yoda coming out on top.

The fight would have went on too long and troopers would have quickly outnumbered yoda.

It had more to do with where he was fighting opposed to whom he was fighting.

When Yoda overpowered Sidious, he finally escaped. Joda only could realise that if he chased Sidious he had to counter the whole Grand Army of the Republic

That’s not entirely true. Darth Cydia‘s was deeply afraid of Yoda after his fight with mace Windu. Because he just so happen to come up against the strongest Jedi throughout the entire order, master window himself. Prior to this fight he thought it was going to be easy. Until he learned how wrong he was. With the help of Anakin Skywalker, Darth Sidious‘s blindsided master Windu and killed him. From that moment on he feared any confrontation with Yoda, because he knew he would not survive that battle. Why? Because he said to himself yo if master window is this wrong I don’t stand a hairs chance at beating master Yoda. Evidence to further prove this is the truth, after Yoda and Palpatine‘s exchange force lightning versus force push. Palpatine knew Yoda was stronger than him and healthy advantage to kill him. That’s why after that exchange Palpa teen tried to run. But Yoda blocked his exit. I find it amazing so many fans never reference this even though they very well know what happened in this fight. Throughout the fight Palpatine was getting stronger, why? Because the force favored the dark side over the lake. Throughout their fight Yoda started having visions of the future, and understood this was a fight he was never gonna win. Because the will of the force was in favor of the Darkside, and no longer the light. Understanding this and realizing this 100%, master Yoda ran for his life. What’s funny enough is many fans would call master Windu a coward if in the same moment took place to him in place of Yoda. I know this to be the truth because there are many fans who dislike that character for very ignorant reasons. The one thing that they love and praise in master Yoda they would’ve demonized in master Windu.

Also, Jedi was weakened by their own delusion that Jedi code and teaching are correct, sacred. But The Force didn't care about Jedi code. Dooku had a chance to enlighten such aspects. But such enlightenment temporally weakened his fundamental spirit, so that gave a chance of corruption to Palpatine.

Palpatine was trained under plagueis specifically because he was one of the strongest force sensitive lines there was. Personally I dont think it was that yoda couldn't defeat him.. I think he quickly realized that if he were to do so, he would have had to kill him. Which was not the jedi way.. The darkside was immensely powerful at that point in time, which feeds into my theory (and yodas) that the force was being balanced towards the Dark.. misread, the prophecy may have been.. if this is the case, it was palpatines destiny to defeat Yoda.

That’s not entirely true. Master Yoda healthy advantage toward from the beginning of the fight initially to about I’d say halfway throughout the fight. This is why Palpatine try to run. And that’s not the only reason he already fight the most powerful Jedi in the entire order, Jedi Master Mace Windu. Initially he thought he was going to be able to overwhelm master Windu because he thought he was father just like the rest of the Jedi masters. He did not know that he would go up against the most powerful Jedi in the entire galaxy in that moment. Their versus showed him that mace Windu was the strongest. After he inevitably defeated master Windu through blind dumb luck. Because Aniken intervened on his behalf. He realized if master Windu is this strong I don’t stand a chance against master Yoda. That’s why when Yoda showed up Yoda was very confident, not only that after derricks change force lightning versus force push, Palpatine understood immediately that he could not beat Yoda. That’s why he try to run. However throughout their duel, Darth city us started gaining the advantage he started having more confidence in him self and the force favored him to win. He already won before it even started even though he didn’t realize it. He got stronger he die faster so throughout their door Yoda started having visions of the future. Knowing that he couldn’t beats are serious because the force favored the dark side. The sad part is many fans will be saying the opposite if Mace Windu were in Yoda‘s position in this moment and he decided to run. A lot of Windu haters would call him a coward for running. The very same thing they look up to and respect Yoda for doing. Although Yoda did a wise decision. Mace Windu didn’t run he actually beat Darth Sidious and was about to win but we know how that turned out.

Yoda wasnt a true jedi how could he defeat a true sith lord. There was literally only ever 1 true jedi in the whole of the star wars series and it definitely isnt yoda
