Also I heard a story something like this -- Benitez would tell CR7 in training to hit the woodwork (seems weird but maybe for higher efficiency) but CR7 said ''My job is to score goals,not hitting the woodwork" Nevertheless it (sacking Benitez) turned out to be the best decision ever for both CR7 & Real Madrid

I think Cristiano isn't right here. I know he's a player that works a lot, but you shouldn't get mad just because the coach says that everyone in the team are good. Also, with the free kicks thing... Ronaldo is probably the most competitive person on earth. Evra and ferdinand have stories about how ronaldo invited his teammates for lunch, then they played a game of ping pong or something that ronaldo lost. He didn't allow them them go home before he win everything on endless rematches. Ronaldo also famous for turning casual gathering events into hardcore fitness sessions. He take huge pride as a man who's first arrive on training, and last to go home. And fully enjoy all the compliments from his teammates. What do you think would happen if you tell a man like that he's not good enough and should practice some more? What would you think gonna happen if you tell mike tyson that he doesn't punch hard enough?

Banitez was right. later years in his career in Real, Ronaldo didnt score many goals. His free kick was not so fearful as when he was younger anymore. He got older and got a more central role as a striker.

At that time, Ronaldo had just won a Ballon D’Or so he was regarded as the best player in Europe. To my knolewdge, none of the players that Benitez managed came even close to winning 3 ballon d’ors (at that time). He also said, that even James is on the same level as Ronaldo, when in reality he is not even close. So i get why he was angry with him.

The sad fact is, Benitez had said or done nothing wrong. I don't thing rasing your players trough the roof with saying they are the best is a good idea, and at the same time I think it's not so bad to try helping your talented players by giving them advice. I just feel like Ronaldo at the time was a bit over confident and arrogant. I would side by Benitez on this one.

Ronaldo is the kind of player that would do anything to win trophies by listening to his coach but Benitez didn't really had it.. His stats at Real Madrid is really bad.. Compared to all those coach Ronaldo played under, his spot is way behind. .and don't forget that Ronaldo is a hard working man..he puts extra work in everything...player with a mindset like that deserves a recognition and respect..its no secret...Ronaldo perfected his shooting technique as much as a humen could do.. If it wasn't for his age, and that knee injury he had in 2014, we would have get to see him scoring screamers more often.. I dont really think what Benitez trying to do was actually helping him, its rather getting under his skin..even at his time at Liverpool, many players had issue with rafa for the same reason.. I think he does not know how to Deal with strong personalities

As a Real Madrid fan, I feel bad for Benitez, it's true he wasn't the right man for Real Madrid but everyone gave him a hard time, it was unfair tbh, fans, the press and even the players disrespected him a lot and in the case of Ronaldo, he should have listened to his advice, Rafa wasn't underestimating his abilities, he just wanted to help him, and honestly, Cristiano's dribbling isn't good at all and it has never been, and his free kicks are even worse, there are many things he can improve, which he should do if he wants to be the best in the world. Just think about it, Cristiano is already a beast, but if he improved all those things, his haters wouldn't have arguments to attack him.

According to The Athletic, the rolling average conversion rate for free-kick takers in the English Premier League is 9.2%..." this according to Insider and when it comes to dribbling, his successful dribbles rate was around 1.7 and 1.8 per game between 2011-2016, really low tbh. PEDROJELLO i don’t know what football you’ve been watching. Cr7 was never a great dribbler. He’s a modest dribbler. That being said, he’s the second best player in the world. He’s probably the best striker in history. But he’s not a great dribbler. There’s been countless of better dribblers than him. Robinho, Ronaldinho, Messi, Ronaldo Lima, Romario, those were great dribblers. Even Zidane was a better dribbler than Ronaldo. I think you’re confusing trickery with dribbling. He did a lot of tricks in Man U but they didn’t mean anything. You’re on crack if you don’t think Messi’s dribbling is productive. His dribblers almost always lead to goals or a chance of goals.
