“Extra” speaks to Cyndi Lauper as she premieres her deeply personal new documentary “Let the Canary Sing.” She opens up about why it was the right time to tell her story and always marching to the beat of her own drum, which the doc highlights. Cyndi also speaks about her friend Cher helping her cement her place in Hollywood history with a TCL Chinese Theater hand and footprint ceremony. She's so professional-she wants to give great shows with great live singing . Also she's so realistic, anything can happen suddenly after certain age and singing live two hours is like running a marathon. I can't wait to see her in concert!

I was never a huge Cyndi fan when she first came out, I was more hard rock, but I freaking love her with the dulcimer. She is so sweet and talented. I love her quote "Get in line." Pure Cyndi

I wish there was more new music from her solo career. I understand why she stopped making new solo music because the label didn’t support her enough, but honestly it’s sad we never got another new originals album after 2008

Madonna never mentioned it was her farewell tour. It was a Greatest Hits tour. Expect her to make more tours. She is not the person to withdraw.

@@christosandreou3986 But she barely danced, and she actually almost died during the rehearsals and postponed the show. I believe it was her last stadium tour. She barely made it at 65, you expect her to do it at 70?? Maybe a residency, and that's it. I just hope she lives and puts out a few more records 🙏🏻

@@norijean3279 Hahaha Madonna is a pioneer and has a highest high stamina. Of course she will have another stadium tour. They kept saying she had health issues even as back as re-invention tour. But since then she carried out 5 full scaled stadium tours and a small venue one. She will carry out more stadium tours and she is one who will announce when it will be her final curtain call which I do not see happening before 70.

Madonna did not do a farewell tour! She did a Celebration tour of 4 decades of her career! There is no way Madonna is going to retire plus Madonna is way younger than Cindy! 😂

She should be getting a video vanguard award at the vmas this year- not just presenting. Alot of young people do not realize that Cyndi was and is an innovator for so many artists that came after her. She's has directed so many wonderful videos of her songs that have been not been appreciated enough, in the 90s and beyond...

She's SMack in the middle of Boomer, but GenX claims her!!! The Neon Hippies like my mom, only 6 months older, not Yuppies, just changed with the times and music Hippies and Punks -POst Punk....Hence New Wave... I heard her music and as a kid it awoke something in me I didn't know I had. ....and My (unplanned!) Tranniversarry and Birthday are the same day!!!
