@richard5652 good on ya man. Big Dan hasn't become a bad player over night. Only a few weeks ago Tripps was on a stinking run of form. Horrible to see how fickle some fans are.
The Luton game was on Howes head not Dan Burns. He was hung out to dry by playing him up against a fast winger. Dan burn is a good player I want to see him in the team in the right position.
Same against Forest. At least twice Elanga gave him 8 or 9 yards start and beat him to the ball. Time Eddie realised he is a centreback and not a fullback. He can play fullback but against speedy wingers he gets roasted. I am writing this after the Forest game where Eddie has put Dan out to dry again and he received another roasting against one of the fastest wingersin the league in Elanga. Elanga at least twice gave burn 8 yards start and beeat him to the ball. Not Dans fault as he has never been the fastest . He lookeda much better player in the second half when used as the left of a back three. First half marks 2 at best, second half 8. Surely a professional coach can see we are losing points playing Dan at leftback instead of Livramento or the £40m Hall who can't be worse than Burn against the speedy wingers.
The chanting for Tino was out of frustration as Eddie refused to make the obvious substitution until the 64th minute. Despite knowing that Dan was too slow to deal with Ogbene's pace, Eddie didn't give Dan any support from the midfield. Without that support Dan was isolated and Ogbene ran riot. The chanting for Tino has been blown out of all proportion by the media - they've turned it into a "toon fans hate Dan Burn" situation. Nothing could be further from the truth as all toon fans appreciate that Dan has been playing out of position last season and this season & is doing his very best for the team.
Hi, love your vlogs.. My take on BDB, I totally blame Eddie for a massive mistake playing Burn v Luton. Yes, he was motm the week b4. But horses for courses. Why Eddie (or his team) woke up Saturday thinking, "Let's start the slowest LB in the league, (by miles) against arguably the fastest winger in the league. That'll work out!!" Worse still, clearly, the whole crowd could see it wasn't working, 1st half (except Eddie!) Bringing him on 2nd half was miles worse than starting him. Eddie lost us 3 points & not for the first time. His lack of game management & stubbornness to play 'his mates' will be his downfall. Keep up the great work. 👍
Dan Burn has been a good player for us overall. Some of the unnecessary knee-jerking vitriol sent his way is ridiculous. Playing him as a left back against a really fast winger on the opposite team makes no sense unless you are going to get our left midfielder or left winger to spend much of their time dropping back to cover for him.
I think Dan Burn has had a hard ride from the critics. Against fast wingers they should be doubling up just like they did against Mbappe who hardly got a touch in the two PSG games. The only full back in the league who might not need to do that is Man City’s right back who is fast in his own right. Dan Burn is an intelligent good footballer and played in a terrific back 4 last year with two supporting wingers tracking back. Livaramento is a different proposition. He’s an attacking wing back whose quick and is the modern option. Nothing wrong with Eddie admitting there might have been some mistakes. Successful people and teams make mistakes. How they learn from them is what’s important.
Hi Keith, your right what your saying about Dan, Dan is a weak link and is targeted by all teams,Eddie would be targeting Dan if played for someone else, the left hand side need to help out more in defence, Dan is more of a centre back so you would think he would get more help in that area of defence, how many times he is left one on one is crazy, cheers Keith
We love Dan Burn as he is a Geordie. We love Eddie. But when you know they are going to play a quick winger against him without the protection of Joelinton or even Willock pushing them then it is always going to end in disaster. It nearly did against Forest but we won. It's also not fair on Dan to play him LB against these players. Even against Villa Burn was rinsed by Bailey when he came on. Both games should have been comfortable.
I think livramento is on the bench because of versatility and the injuries, he has been cover for basically everybody. Whoever gets injured mid game, Tino is the option. Whether it’s either full back, either winger or any of the midfield so it’s sensible to have him fresh off the bench to fill in for anyone and that’s what he’s done a lot.
Howe should've seen the threat from the left side and put Livrameto. Most fans saw thisin the beginning of the match and many said this, including me, before the match. Against Nottingham will be same problem.
It's not about defending him... It's about playing the right players.... Does he not analyse the opponents and see the threat... He's putting burn under fire... Fault lies with Howe... God bless
love BDB, just we're playing him out of position and on top of that he makes runs that a proper fullback would do. Tino comes in and does the job extremely well, and then we have Hall on the bench that stays there. I'm pro-eddie, but they're in a job that everyone has an opinion and he will know it.
I rate BDB like many many others. However, for what I see as a change, a needed change, will be Tino LB. BDB a needed rest for the lad! And that attacking spark, would (🤞) give us more positive flow.
Feel bad about the whole situation because I feel having a positive vibe is so important! Hopefully we’ll get a win at forest and that’ll be 7 points from three games … which isn’t bad, the lads will be wanting to put things right for big Dan ..and we are still in the cup !… come on…in Eddie we trust …
One problem with Burn is Howe didn't learn after Forest home game. Any team with pace on the wing is struggling now. Got to stop picking favourites and pick for the good of NUFC
@kyletomey43 yeah but later in the game Burn got caught down that side for Villas goal and Howe changed it straight away. Luton game it happened all afternoon and damage was done before tino came on
@NUFC2412 it really is a tough one as BDB brings so much to the squad both on and off the pitch. I'm just glad I'm not the gaffer 🙈he was absolutely lightning though and also did Tino a couple of times when he came on
@@NUFC2412 Ogbene skinned Tino too. Even if Eddie played YOUR favourites (which is what you're saying he should do), there's literally no way to know if we'd have conceded 4 or maybe more. Stop scapegoating and accept that we've been a shambles defensively for 90% of the season, regardless of who's played.
Im not burns biggest fan either (especially at the moment) but howes definitely not going to drop him now, because if he did, it would look like hes totally buckled from the pressure, and he would come across as being weak as piss.
dan burn is a decent player and has his advantage with his height, the problem with dan burn is, he is only a a 45 minute player, he gasses out to quick.
If the opposition hit us quick on the counter then you can't cover BDB, this wasn't Burn's fault he did not have a bad game he was just out paced, and everybody could see it happening and most new what was going to happen because of Burns lack of pace and being up against one of the premier leagues fastest players and they new it and targeted that area for attack.
If Dan burn came back a lot earlier than expected and still was in pain, why did he play him straight away when a player like livermento was playing well and got dropped for Burn? One word comes to mind, favourite
Spot on. Favourites FC. Like the medical team. All his mates from Bournemouth. Someone like Isak will probably leave because of it. I’m sick of him now. For me will be a great day when they sack him.
Please please please Tino at left back , no disrespect to burn but he’s not good enough and if he is selected tomorrow serious questions need to be asked, everyone goes on about what burn offers height wise but he rarely flicks a corner on etc & slows down to many attacks should be Howe easiest decision to put Tino at Left back
Eddie was honest as ever I agree with what he said regarding BDB he’s been colossal for us since he signed maybe he has lost a bit pace since his back injury but I think fans have over reacted in there criticism.I love Eddie I do feel these last few months he had a lot to contend with injuries and I feel he carried on as usual while not been well him self to his credit just feel he’s been feeling a bit spiky in conferences regarding questions that maybe should on been answered from the top. Eddie has high standards of himself that’s why he has looked tired lack of sleep trying to improve things . Football is his whole life and he feels it we have a fabulous manager giving his all in difficult circumstances so lucky .our main problem is Dan Ash worth as still feel he will leave For Man U. Eddie just needs players back rest we take care of it self .In Eddie I Trust.🌑⚽️🖤🤍
No not disrespect to you mate. I dont buy lewis hall developments history. He came from chealsea, playing in first 11,that's way club committed to play 28m+ for him.d.burn come 12m price tagg.lewis 18 d.burn 30,which one is more beneficial?younger ,and can serve more to newcastle united? Eddie talked but i thing he is the obstacle in front of lewis hall.
Gordon came from Everton, playing first team football, we paid £40+ million for him and he was woeful last season. In his own words, he struggled, he wasn't fit enough, and was shocked how far away he was from being at the level he was expected to get to. Hall is just a kid, he came from Chelsea who were hardly tearing up the league, and he's only been with us for six months. Why is his development such a mystery to you? Last season, Joelinton and Joe Willock were protecting the left back (Dan Burn!) and we were solid defensively. I suspect, if we had that kind of cover this season, Hall would've played more, but sadly, we don't. I'm not surprised Howe hasn't chucked Hall in, tbh. Defensively we've been a shambles, and if Hall has a stinker, the wolves dressed as fans would eat him alive, as they have many of their own players this season.
It wasn’t even that Dan Burn had a poor performance … he’s a giant and not very fast or mobile, … it was HOWE’S fault having him in against a speed machine like Ogbene… Burn can’t take any blame
Guarantee if Burn starts Gibbs white and Elanga with have an outstanding match he will get ripped apart he might of been man of the match against Villa but as soon as Bailey came on he was subbed because any pace and he is lost
Eddie is a very emotional manager and it clouds his judgement. Burn MOTM at Villa? How? The man was alright. Schar and Botman were better. And he was alright against a tired Fulham B team.
I dont blame Dan for the performance last game against Luton,,,I blame the one who picked the team who put him in against a player who was going to win him in other attributes (pace).
No one can fault burn, the issue is we have a one dimensional manager who can’t set up a team based on the opposition and the players we have available
Burn is a good centre back. He was never a full back until targett got injured last season. This is eddie that wont adapt to the situation. He is looking more like a clone of southgate with every passing game, play your mates instead of giving your team the best chance of winning the match.
for the love of god! DB serves a purpose but thats it, one purpose, he is a decent player but this is one thing that will lead to Eddie Howe getting the boot. Its on him! DB if you watch him, he has 0 attacking threat unless in the air. It even takes him ages to relay the ball to wingers and even then he is not confident so plays back 90% of the time. I don't have a problem when players make mistakes due to injury, fatigue or the jumbled up nature of the starting line up this year because of the number of games and injuries. BUT as a Manager when you can pre-empt the situations and you keep walking into the same blunder is unforgivable. Eddie Howe talks all the talk about analysing games. Why didn't he analyse this one. Burn at LB, and Gordon obviously carrying injury, no workhorse in Mid (Lineton or Willock) to help DB out, then he should not have started against Luton or Forest against some very quick players. It doesn't take a genius to work these things out. Im starting to lose faith in Howe because he's probably got too much of an attachment to some players and found himself wanting to drop them but hasn't got the balls to do it! Sad as it will be his downfall. We were lucky against Forest, and lucky for a point at Luton.
Behave yourself, you don’t really see the fans perspective but you do see the managers. The manager has his favourites such as Murphy who at best is a Championship player. You never criticise Bruno nor does the manager….why?
Did you get hit in the head? You seem blissfully unaware that we barely have a starting eleven fit. There's no-one to replace Bruno or Murphy, but you would lbatter their confidence by slagging them off in a press conference? No manager with an ounce of common sense would do that. Honestly, i'm pleased Howe makes the decisions and stands or falls by them, 'cos if you were calling the shots we's be fucked.
Playing Burn could ultimately get Howe the sack. Eddie can close his eyes and keep humming and pretending everything is okay but the fans and our owners can see that Burn is our weak link when he is played at left back.
Howe will never quite fully understand that he overloads his players. Last season was an aberration. A great one, but with bitter consequences. Howe’s methods are not sustainable. Either we plan for all out blood and thunder one season, followed by a lacklustre second season, then back to blood and thunder and so on. Unsustainable, no plan b, naive, lots to learn.
This isnt Dan Burns fault. The level of criticism is born from frustration with Eddie Howe. Most wont admit it yet but its Howe who is getting people irritated with constant boring, non-informative pressers, blind loyalty to certain players and team selections. Lads like Miggy and Burn picked in positions that are not their natural ones then both lads get slaughtered for weaknesses. Miggy is a LW/LF/AM....Hes played on the right where he struggles with first time crosses. Same with Burn, played at fullback but doesnt have the pace and ability to overlap Eddie doing both lads dirty
Can't agree with defending burn, great last season, shite this season. He should not have come straight back into the squad after his injury. Regular balls over his head, skinned alive by wingers, has no pace and has become a liability giving away penalties. No,for me it's time to move him on and upgrade as he's no longer the standard we require. If results do carry on like last week with burn in the team, then it'll be howe picking up his p45 !!!!!
